California governor — and stealth presidential candidate/Ron DeSantis obsessive — Gavin Newsom announced a plan on Thursday to implement “common sense” gun control measures nationwide, “while leaving the 2nd Amendment unchanged and respecting America’s gun-owning tradition.”
“Our ability to make a more perfect union is literally written into the Constitution,” said Governor Gavin Newsom. “So today, I’m proposing the 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution to do just that. The 28th Amendment will enshrine in the Constitution common sense gun safety measures that Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and gun owners overwhelmingly support – while leaving the 2nd Amendment unchanged and respecting America’s gun-owning tradition.”

Virtually alone among major auto manufacturers, Toyota has been a skeptic about the conversion of vehicle fleets to battery-powered electric vehicles. For people incapable of thinking 2 or 3 steps ahead, EVs are “zero emission” and therefore “save the planet” from CO2 (presumed to control the earth’s temperature despite no statistical correlation). But this leaves out the environmental and CO2 cost of generating and transmitting electricity (mostly by burning coal in the US and many other countries), manufacturing (and recycling) the enormous batteries, and the energy and wear and tear cost of the much-heavier cars that result. Energy losses due to resistance in power lines generates heat

As the World Health Organization pandemic treaties bear fruit, the mark of the beast has arrived in Europe. Everything the Public Health™ experts have done since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic has led to this moment of triumph for the global technocracy.
“WHO & EU_Commission launch landmark digital health initiative to help protect people across the world from on-going & future health threats,” WHO tweeted out on June 5. “This is the first building block of the WHO Global Digital Health Certification Network that will develop a wide range of digital products to deliver better #HealthForAll.”

Former Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) said Wednesday on CNN’s “The Lead” that the U.S. should arm Ukraine until they win the war against Russia.
Anchor Jake Tapper said, “Russian Dictator Vladimir Putin has launched this vicious invasion of Ukraine killing lots of civilians. As you know, two of your opponents have given some interesting signals. Donald Trump refused to say in the town hall with Kaitlyn Collins which side he wants to win, Ukraine or Russia. He refuses to call Vladimir Putin a war criminal. Ron DeSantis calls it a territorial dispute. Are they wrong? What’s your position?
Christie said, “They are wrong. They are wrong.

Arnold Schwarzenegger believes there is no difference between heaven and hell because both are simply fantasies. To his mind, once we die that is the end. There is no afterlife and “anyone that tells you something else is a f—ing liar.”
The 75-year-old actor gave his views on personal faith to Danny DeVito, 78, during their shared discourse on the topic “What’s in the future for us” for Interview Magazine.
According to PEOPLE, the Terminator star said:
It reminds me of Howard Stern’s question to me. ‘Tell me, governor, what happens to us when we die?’ I said, ‘Nothing. You’re 6 feet under. Anyone that tells you something else is a f—ing liar.’

What happens when an unstoppable progressive force meets an immovable progressive wall? Apologies, for starters. Once again, Canada, America’s nutty neo-fascist neighbor to the north, has broken new ground in Leftist weirdness. As you know all too well at this point, it is Pride month here, there, and everywhere. And Canada is no exception. The current ruling class of Canucks has never met a progressive mantra it didn’t enthusiastically embrace. But unlike a certain brand of peanut butter cups whose name I cannot mention, sometimes two great tastes don’t go great together.
As Pride Month kicked into gear, a teacher at Londonderry Jr. High in Edmonton unloaded on students who

Not too long ago, San Francisco was still a remarkably beautiful city, although even then it could change on a dime. One could be in the midst of a leisurely stroll down a gorgeous street filled with chic cafes, turn a corner, and find oneself without warning in the middle of a large crowd of menacing homeless drug addicts. Now, after decades of far-Left misrule that has picked up speed in the wake of the COVID hysteria, the city’s dirty, degrading, and dangerous areas are growing rapidly and taking the whole place over, and the city’s remaining sane people are fleeing. The end is near for the Golden Gate City:

CNN CEO Chris Licht is out after a little more than a year on the job, as he failed to turn around the long-troubled news network, according to Puck's Dylan Byers.
Byers, a former CNN reporter who has been reporting on Licht for months, reported on Wednesday that Licht will "soon step down."
"CNN C.E.O. Chris Licht will soon step down. Amy Entelis will serve as interim leader. Announcement could come as early as today," Byers tweeted. Axios confirmed the report.
Parent company Warner Bros. Discovery, Licht and CNN did not respond to requests for comment.
Licht was hand-picked by Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav last year

I wrote earlier about how Joe Biden treats the press like dirt and his staff does all they can to keep him from answering questions.
Biden had a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday. Reporters threw three questions out to the president as his staff tried to shout over the reporters and get them out of the room.
Even for Joe Biden, I’d have to say the responses were bizarre. [Tweets] He was asked what message he would send Russia on the Ukraine dam explosion. His response? “We’re not leaving, we’re going to help Ukraine.”
A reporter pressed him on why he had made no official statement on the anniversary of D-Day,

The New York Times is out today with a long feature about the “concern” over Joe Biden’s age and conspicuously deteriorating abilities. The story is strangely written, as it seems to go out of its way to conceal the heart of the matter by including lukewarm appraisals of Biden’s awesome capacities (/sarc):
"People who deal with him regularly, including some of his adversaries, say he remains sharp and commanding in private meetings. (Snip) Of course, the story skips over as quickly as possible his most recent fall at the Air Force Academy, which is the only real news on this issue from the last few days. One almost wishes

Credible allegations of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election have resulted in profound misgivings among Americans. Many conservatives have become disillusioned with the Republican party, especially at the national level where the gap between rhetoric and results has grown enormously. However, the nation has experienced similar circumstances in the past. What lessons can we draw from the history of previous elections?
The 1960 election was a pivotal point in American politics. Given that only one in five current Americans were alive then, as well as the continuing decline in proficiency in history and civics, let us consider how this contest compares to our most recent presidential election.

Last month, the House Oversight Committee revealed a trove of evidence exposing Joe Biden’s influence-peddling with foreign nations. The evidence showed that illicit funds were funneled through a network of shell companies, deliberately established to obscure their illicit origins, before ending up in the hands of several members of the Biden family. This scheme included Joe’s brother James Biden, James’s wife, Hunter Biden, Hunter’s current wife, Hunter’sex-wife, Hallie Biden (Beau’s widow and Hunter’s former girlfriend), and three children of Hunter Biden and James Biden. These entities operated
