If Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan decided to be a presidential candidate next year, she would be barred from the debates.
The GOP debate rules include a pledge to support the Republican 2024 presidential nominee and Ms. Noonan makes it clear, from the opening paragraph of her latest weekend column that she would not back a Trump candidacy.
Noonan declares in her lede paragraph that if "Trump Republicans" nominate the former president next year, "they will have ended the Republican Party.' That there be no mistaking her comment as mere figurative remark, she declares in the following paragraph:

Former FBI Director James Comey said Sunday on MSNBC’s “Inside with Jen Psaki” that he would not vote for the Republican nominee in 2024, even if it is someone other than former President Donald Trump.
Psaki said, “You said that Trump poses a near existential threat to the rule of law.”
She asked, “Tell me a little bit about the specifics of what he could try to do, what do you mean by that?”
Comey said, “I think about what four years of a retribution presidency might look like. He could order the investigation and prosecution of individuals who he sees as enemies. I’m sure I’m on the enemies list.

Europe's top climate activists are planning a 'large-scale civil disobedience campaign' of highway blockages, hunger strikes and disruption at 'federal properties' in the US in August, DailyMail.com can reveal.
Leaders from Extinction Rebellion (XR) and other European groups known for their large-scale disturbances are rapidly expanding their US-based franchise, Declare Emergency, to create mayhem on this side of the Atlantic.
In a videoconference, which DailyMail.com attended, the Europeans taught their US allies how to raise money, boost membership and recruit scores of 'arrestable' members to spearhead the most aggressive protests.

Activist and scholar Cornel West has announced he will run for president in 2024 as a third party candidate - promising to speak the 'truth' about issues including Ukraine, Wall Street and the Pentagon.
The 70-year-old public intellectual posted a video launching his campaign running for nomination for the far-leftist People's Party.
'I am running for truth and justice as a presidential candidate for the People's Party to reintroduce America to the best of itself - fighting to end poverty, mass incarceration, ending wars and ecological collapse, guaranteeing housing, health care, education and living wages for all!' he said in the two-and-a-half-minute announcement video.

Asked how he felt about Donald Trump, Zelensky admitted that he was more comfortable with dealing with Biden and that the return of a Republican-led government could end up being difficult for his war effort.
“President Biden is the president during a full-scale war and he has been more helpful to us than President Trump,” Zelensky told the interviewer, qualifying the statement by noting that there “was no full-scale war” going on while Trump was in office.

As a proud American who happens to be gay, I say it's time to end gay pride month.
Last week the Los Angeles Dodgers came under intense criticism, including from a number of the team's players, for inviting a group of "queer and trans nuns" with a long history of anti-Catholic activities to its "10th annual LGBTQ+ Pride Night" on June 16th.
This is just the latest controversial virtue signal on gay alphabet-soup identity politics, following close on the (high) heels of Bud Light's decision to promote a flamboyant transgender influencer on its cans and Target and Kohl's stores marketing transgender children's wear in observance of gay pride month.

If Bud Light sales continue to lag, the brand risks losing shelf space at major retailers to competitors and 'locking in' lower market share, a former Anheuser-Busch executive has claimed. In recent weeks, Bud Light sales have been down roughly a quarter from a year ago, as the brand faces conservative backlash over an April marketing deal with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. Anson Frericks, the former US president of sales and distribution for St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch, said that retailers such as Walmart and Kroger typically 'reset' their shelf space allocations in the spring and fall, based on sales data.

Presidential contender Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says that he supports Second Amendment and would not seek a gun confiscation program if elected.
(snip)Kennedy, the nephew of President John F. Kennedy, replied, “I support the Constitution that includes the Second Amendment.”
“I’m not going to take anybody’s guns away,” he said. “I think at this point in history all that would do is to increase this toxic polarization.”
Kennedy said that he grew up in rural areas, and thus understands how “integrated” firearms are into the culture of such people.
“It’s existential for those people who live in those areas,”(snip)
“And it’s part of our Constitution, the Second Amendment as the Supreme Court has interpreted it.”

Former US Vice-President Mike Pence has officially filed paperwork to join an increasingly crowded field of Republicans running for president.
The move pits him against former President Donald Trump, the man he served in the White House for four years from 2017-21.
Mr Trump is currently polling well ahead of his competition.
Mr Pence, 63, is expected to formally launch his campaign with a video and speech on Wednesday. The former Indiana governor and congressman has distanced himself from his former boss since the riot by Trump supporters at the US Capitol in January 2021.
