Gun control Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) tweeted Sunday that AR-15 rifles are not necessary for hunting or self-defense and suggested mass shooters would be those “most affected” by an “assault weapons” ban.
He described the AR-15 as “the mass shooter’s best friend,” omitting any mention that the shooting at an Atlanta hospital earlier in the week was carried out with a handgun.
Murphy tweeted: [Tweet] The AR-15 is the most popular rifle platform in America, as variants of the rifle are used for long range shooting, competition, hunting (predator and big game), as well as self-defense, home defense, and plinking.
On February 17, 2018, Breitbart News pointed out that then-Sen.

The California Reparations Task Force formally recommended that the state offer payments of up to $1.2 million to every qualifying Black resident. The task force held a public meeting in Oakland, California, on Saturday and voted on the final set of recommendations to be sent to the state's legislators. The nine-member panel called on the state to offer its Black residents a formal apology in addition to the payments.
"Reparations are not only morally justifiable, but they have the potential to address long-standing racial disparities and inequalities," Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., said after attending the meeting.

Two weeks ago, President Joe Biden announced that he is running for reelection in 2024, promising to “finish the job”. What exactly does he want to finish, other than American exceptionalism as we know it?
America is rapidly imploding on many fronts – financial and economic, cultural, safety, and our place in the world. Does finishing the job mean erasing every achievement of former President Donald Trump? Or is he completing former President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign promise, "We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America"?

President Joe Biden brushed his decision not to attend King Charles III's coronation on Saturday during a softball interview with MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle by saying: 'I told him I couldn't be there because I have this going on.'
Biden, 80, said that he told the king that he would be in the United Kingdom during the summer during the NATO conference. 'He's a good acquaintance and we've worked together on environmental issues,' the president said of King Charles III.
The president dispatched his wife to represent the US at the celebrations in London.

The least honorable president in American history had a softball interview with MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle on Friday, in which he uttered one of the most outlandish lies of his entire life, which has been filled with his outlandish lies: “I think I’ve proven myself to be honorable, as well as effective.” As Matt Margolis noted Sunday, this was in the course of a paean of boasting from Old Joe Biden that included praise of his own wisdom and experience. But now Joe Biden would have us believe that he is honorable, too? Come on, man! This guy lies every time his lips move.
The part about Old Joe being effective, however,

In the span of a few weeks, the Biden administration has proposed regulations that would effectively ban gas stoves, force a massive shift to electric cars, sharply raise the cost of dishwashers, increase loan costs for frugal borrowers, regulate puddles as “navigable waters,” and limit hunting and fishing across the country. It will soon release a proposed rule targeting power plants with hugely expensive carbon capture mandates.
This is just the tip of the spear.
As the Competitive Enterprise Institute’s Clyde Wayne Crews put it recently, “President Biden is leading an unprecedented expansion of the administrative state.

A Denver city councilwoman facing a runoff election in June said white-owned businesses should pay reparations for the sins of slavery.
During a business forum, Candi CdeBaca — a Democrat socialist — said the race-based tax could be levied by the business improvement districts, as first reported by 9News. A business improvement district is managed by local business owners, residents, and local government officials and can levy incremental tax increases which are then redistributed in a specific geographic region, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.

My friend and colleague, Dr. Maryanne Demasi has been studying the use of statins for years. She just had her meta analysis published in "JAMA Internal Medicine." This is an extremely important paper.(snip)The public health mantra about cholesterol has always been “the lower, the better.” This has been reflected in expert guidelines which have called on doctors to aggressively lower their patient’s ‘bad’ LDL-cholesterol (LDL-C) with statin drugs to prevent heart disease. However, our new analysis published in JAMA Internal Medicine (paywalled) challenges that notion. Over the years, influential researchers such as the Cholesterol Treatment Trialists (CTT) at Oxford University, have monopolised the scientific debate on statins. But there are three problems with the various CTT analyses:

New York City Mayor Eric Adams recently slammed Biden’s border policy, indirectly, by claiming that the migrant crisis is ‘destroying’ the city.
Adams is finally experiencing what people who live near the border have known for years.
Adams says New York is at a breaking point due to the number of migrants who keep arriving in the city and needing services.
It was recently reported that it’s costing New York City up to $5 million dollars a day to house and feed illegal immigrants.

House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) has some big things ready to drop on Joe Biden.
He’s already sending a message to the Department of Justice telling them not to indict the president’s son until the DOJ sees what the Committee is about to announce. We won’t have to wait long because Comer says they intend to drop some big evidence on Wednesday. He said members have been poring over bank documents, and meeting with former associates and whistleblowers. (Tweet/Video)

Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s student government president has been removed from his position and faces a recall election due to his role in perpetrating two campus hate-crime hoaxes hanging posters and chalking slurs against LGBTQ people, Latinos and other “marginalized communities.”
Undergraduate Association President David Spicer helped hang the offensive posters and chalk the quad once in February and then again in mid-April during Campus Preview Weekend, infuriating his peers — even progressive ones who once championed him as a leader in campus diversity and inclusion.

COLUMBIA, S.C.—LaJoia Broughton, a 41-year-old small-business owner, considers herself a fan of President Joe Biden.
He’s provided opportunities for Black-owned business while bringing integrity to the White House, she said. Her decision for 2024 is not in doubt.
“Biden has proven himself in the last few years, and I’ll be voting for him in the next election,” said Broughton, (Snip)
Destiny Humphreys is less enthusiastic. The 22-year-old senior at South Carolina State University, the state’s only public historically Black college or university, or HBCU, said she’s disappointed in the president, feeling his accomplishments have so far not lived up to his promises.
