Most conservatives were shocked and surprised when Fox News took the Tucker Carlson program off the air last week. It was watched by 3.2 million mostly affluent viewers each night. It was the seventh most popular program on cable TV. It attracted nearly twice as many viewers as MSNBC and CNN combined. MSNBC had an audience of roughly 1.14 million viewers. CNN only had roughly 473,000. However, Tucker Carlson’s program had been on life support since December 18, 2018. That is when “progressive” Democrats cancelled most of its sponsors.

I did not know of the boycott in 2018. After reading the list of former advertisers, I’m disappointed to find out I don’t patronize them anyway. By the way, when was the last time anyone saw or used Soda Stream?

I remember when they tried to boycott CBS and the Masters over the alleged racism at Augusta National. CBS said fine, boycott, well run the Masters with no commercials. I guess the Murdochs dont make enough money off FOX programming to say the same.

I rarely, if ever, purchase a product simply because it is advertised on a program that I watch.

Good to have a list of "never buy" companies. There is only one that I patronize and now need to dump.

This article is nonsense as Fox negotiated a new multi-year employment contract with Carson, after 2018, with full knowledge of sponsorships.

How are the sponsors feeling now since instead of millions of viewers seeing their ads, they might get a hundred thousand instead.

Good points. The best way for a program to lose sponsors is to lose half their customers. Most ads are priced according to number of viewers. Congratulations, Fox, you really screwed yourselves.

Not buying that Tucker was on the ropes, given the amount of viewers he pulled in every night. I saw last week that in addition to the over $500 million in market value lost, Rupert has seen at least $77 million in advertising revenue walk out the door. $577 million dollars in lost revenue for Fox News isn't small potatoes.

Prediction: We’ll be increasingly pushed into a platform like twitter, run by free speech defenders, who own their own satellites. But they’ll come for us there too, they always do.

He became too hot for the UniParty. But Tucker is no fool. This might still backfire on them if he plays his cards right.

Why did Rupie decide to renew Tucker's contract then?

The corporate marketing liberal arts majors have zero deductive reasoning skills. Just look at late night narrative teleprompter readers disguised as humor. Each has under 1 million viewers yet millions of ad dollars are placed in these time slots for a demographic with a lower percentile disposable income. Yet, Tucker Carlson garners 3.5 million viewers and a much higher disposable income. Why not fire those wasting corporate revenues and give the millions to the shareholders dividends?

Fox News missed two important business practices. Accounting and Marketing.
In accounting 101, students are asked if you have a business with 10 factories, one of which is losing money, do you close it? Most say yes. Then they learn that the fixed costs of the business is shared by 10. Closing one means that the fixed costs are born by 9 factories and now two of them are losing money, etc.
In marketing, there is a concept of "loss leader," One product is sold below market rates in order to increase sales of other items due to increased traffic.
So Fox, (and the Murdoch boys): would you rather have 50% of something or 100% of nothing? It will be interesting to see whether the dive in ratings will continue. Newsmax and One America News, we're back.
Now only Gutfeld and Laura bring me to watch Fox News as opposed to having the tuners all tuned to Fox News all the time.

Our forefathers knew how to work a boycott. (Stamp Act, anyone?) Conservatives better learn how to play the game. And yes, Sean Hannity, I'm talking to you--

I was surprised and delighted to learn that I am affluent! Thank you, Tucker Carlson. (or was that just Seth Grossman opinion?)
