They’ve been working towards this for decades, the psychopaths that run us. In The Weaponization of Loneliness, How Tyrants Stoke Our Fear of Isolation to Silence, Divide, and Conquer Us, a powerhouse of a book, Stella Morabito points out that between ten and fifteen percent of us are near-psychopaths and they almost always end up in leadership. Shorn of empathy for anyone but themselves, they see the world as something to master, other people as NPCs, non- playing characters who will obey or die. They are pitiless and they know best. I have read no better description of the people destroying our world.

I don't even know whether the people cooperating with all this evil are organized, but they may be willing.... According to Dante's vision, people who fill the world with blood and fear are assigned to a circle in hell where they are boiled in a river of blood. But for us, let us remember, we are made for God, the great joy no one can take from us. As Catherine of Siena said, all the way to heaven is heaven.

Confirms everything I’ve been feeling from watching what’s going on. The comments regarding not trusting the medical industry is something I’ve discussed with three doctors - they feel this themselves. It’s important to talk to others, it chips away at the isolation, makes us all dragon slayers.

Someone said, accurately, "You can vote yourselves into Marxism, but you have to shoot your way out."
Be ready and be capable. So far, they have not been able to disarm us. And best estimates are that there are 25 million AR type rifles in private hands in this country, and 400+ million firearms of all types.
Learn some basic skills, one day they may be needed. I am wearing a T-shirt which has Thomas Jefferson's famous quote about the Tree of Liberty. If you don't know it, you should look it up.

I had a (non-romantic) relationship with one who had a narcissistic personality disorder. Of course, I didn't know it at the time. It was emotionally, mentally and financially devastating. By deceit and betrayal - victims never see or know what is going on. The look-back is horrifying as realization dawns. As for our current U.S. and world leadership goes - the parallels are truly frightening - but not many can see, and the deceit and betrayal is perfect. We will not react in time.

I see where the author is going and largely agree except regarding isolation. One wants to stay connected and informed but doesn't want to be influenced. Isolation is a good way to do that. Turn off the garbage on TV. Stop reading the garbage on the internet. Isolation is a good way to get alone with God and that is a GOOD thing. I personally value time alone.
Different perspective, I guess.

Someone clearly needs to either get on their meds or get them adjusted.

For all of my life I have considered myself to be a patriotic, taxpaying, American citizen; only to find in my 80's that I am a Xenophobic, homophobic, transphobic, raciest, white supremacist. Is there still time for me to repent?

If you want to hear some brilliant discussion of this very topic, along with other societal issues, I highly recommend the podcast, "A Brief History of Power". Excellent, excellent, excellent.

Psychopaths are the root of all evil in society. And yes, they love money as well as themselves.

one does not have to be alone to be lonely and likewise one can feel loneliness in a crowd, that's just how it works

This is one of Nickson's best. I own the book she quotes from, The Weaponization of Loneliness, and I've started it and dipped into it here and there. It's very readable; it's just that I'm a coward and can scarcely bear to read what it says, though it's not a surprise to me. Elizabeth Nickson's writing is often like that, but it's in shorter bites. I'm now inspired to read the whole of Stella Morabito's book.
