I am starting to believe chasing Ron DeSantis the Nazi Bogeyman is the only thing keeping the Miami Herald alive right now.
Do they even write about anything else? Woof – you’d be hard-pressed to find something.
The Herald DeSantis outrage du jour on the blackboard is:
He vaporized healthcare equity
Healthcare ‘equity’ was a Florida priority until the DeSantis administration erased it
And, yes, you read that correctly.
In 2017, when Florida Department of Health officials crafted their once-every-five-years list of state health goals, they published what was then a noncontroversial top priority: improving health equity.

Joe and Jill Biden on Thursday traveled to Ottawa, Canada to participate in a greet with Mary Simon, the Governor General of Canada and her husband, Whit Fraser.
Dr. Jill opened her big fat mouth in the beginning of the meeting and mumbled something stupid about global warming.
“Well, it’s been really warm because of global warming in the United States,” Dr. Jill said.
On the West Coast — a great deal of rain and a lot of forest fires — we’ve had a tough year due to global warming,” Joe Biden said.

A team of election experts in New Mexico uncovered an election system that is being used in that state and multiple other states that do not comply with election laws.
Election experts in New Mexico established that the post-election canvass reports in all 33 New Mexico Counties are being illegally prepared. Complete election records are being uploaded to an uncertified, centralized software under the control of the Secretary of State (SOS) called SERVIS, which is then used to create the official election results.
Use of any uncertified software for this part of the election process is a violation of federal and state law.

President Biden's mandate that about 3.5 million federal employees get vaccinated against COVID-19 was blocked by the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday.
The president originally issued the executive order in September 2021, requiring workers to be vaccinated unless they have a medical or religious exemption.
U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Brown issued an injunction blocking the mandate in January 2022, but a three-judge panel on the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals reinstated the mandate last April. On Thursday, 10 of the 5th Circuit's 16 judges reversed that decision, ruling that there is no constitutional basis for requiring federal employees to be vaccinated.

A letter written by porn star Stormy Daniels, which was shared by former President Donald Trump on his Truth Social account on Thursday, has further undermined the case against him by Soros-funded Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. The letter, dated 2018, refutes any claims of an affair between the two.
“Over the past few weeks I have been asked countless times to comment on reports of an alleged sexual relationship I had with Donald Trump many, many, many years ago,” Daniels wrote in the letter. “The fact of the matter is that each party to this alleged affair denied its existence in 2006, [2011], 2016, 2017 and now again in 2018.

Former President Donald Trump definitively leads President Joe Biden among likely voters in a potential 2024 matchup, a McLaughlin poll found Thursday.
Forty-eight percent of respondents said they supported Trump, while only 43 percent supported Biden — a 5-point spread.
With the 2024 general election 20 months away, Trump also leads Biden in battleground states. A majority of 51 percent supported Trump, while only 41 percent backed Biden.
“Trump would beat Biden in a landslide,” the pollster analyzed.

Joe Biden has been getting worse. Even though they’ve largely just had him doing ceremonial-type things, like the recognition of Women’s History Month, he still can’t seem to get through even the simplest event without issues.
When he had the Women’s History event on Wednesday, he made some bizarre comments about his wife Jill and LGBTQ people, as we reported. He talked about Jill being the “first full-time lady.” He also said that she left what sounds like a sad note for him on his mirror saying “stop trying to make me love you.” Yikes. Then he also made a weird remark when he was trying to pander to the groups

The new Republican majority in the House of Representatives recently forwarded a national “parental bill of rights,” and it’s causing quite a stir on the left.
On Thursday, the floor debates on the measure began, and Democrats blew their tops in expectably hysterical ways. After all, who knows better how to raise a child than a childless woman in her mid-30s like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? [Video]
It’s just incredible how little respect Democrats have for basic rights, of which a parent’s right to know what a child is doing is obviously one. Like it or not, kids have legal guardians under American law, and for good reason.

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Minnesota House was moving Thursday toward strengthening the state's protections for children and their families who come for gender-affirming care by making Minnesota a “trans refuge state,” bucking a national backlash against transgender rights. Democratic Gov. Tim Walz signed an executive order two weeks ago to protect the rights of people from Minnesota and other states to receive gender-affirming health care in the state. The bill on which the House was slated to begin debate Thursday night covers much of the same ground, but supporters said a statute would provide stronger, more permanent protections. Passage

WASHINGTON — The Manhattan district attorney investigating Donald Trump rebuffed House Republicans' request Thursday for documents and testimony about the case, dismissing it as an "unprecedented inquiry" with no legitimate basis.
In a letter obtained by The Associated Press, the general counsel for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg slammed the congressional request as "an unlawful incursion into New York's sovereignty."
"The Letter only came after Donald Trump created a false expectation that he would be arrested the next day and his lawyers reportedly urged you to intervene," Leslie Dubeck wrote in the letter. "Neither fact is a legitimate basis for congressional inquiry."

The temptation to comment must be overwhelming, especially for the White House staff and those lined up to work on Biden’s 2024 campaign. Bancel justified the price hike by noting that the company expects to see a 90% reduction in demand for the COVID-19 vaccine when it moves to the commercial market, along with increased costs to provide single-dose vials, compared to the 10-dose vials the company has provided for the government.

After the Chinese Communist Party’s 1949 victory in China’s civil war, the question of “Who lost China” rocked Washington. As President Biden makes his first presidential trip to Ottawa this week, he should ask if the next country about which that question will be asked is Canada.
The loss would not be economic. The U.S.-Mexico-Canada (USMCA) trade pact continues to underpin a vast economic relationship neither party wants to undermine, although recent Biden administration policies to promote “Buy America” are an irritant that violates the spirit of that agreement. Canada, as the smaller and more trade-dependent partner, cannot afford to lose the privileged access to U.S. markets that the USMCA ensures.

Lyle was accused of shooting faculty members as they were patting him down for weapons as part of a 'safety plan' devised for the youth based on previous behavioral issues.
The East High School student fled the shooting scene on foot immediately after Wednesday's violence, which unfolded just before 10am local time.

California’s “gun roster” law has been ruled unconstitutional, and the judge has ordered a preliminary injunction to stop it. And with the decision, a major Leftist anti-gun trope was targeted.
California U.S. District Court Judge Cormac J. Carney ruled that the California Unsafe Handgun Act’s creation of a “gun roster” of acceptable handguns for serfs to own is unconstitutional and ordered an injunction stopping its implementation. Expect it to be appealed by the defendant in the case, California’s Attorney General Robert Bonta, though he doesn’t have much left to go on after this decision.
This so-called “gun roster” is a list of handguns that state apparatchiks allow California serfs to own.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken just testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, during which he was confronted by minority committee member Rand Paul. As Senator Paul states, leaked State Department cables sent years prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic expressed alarm about lax security in Chinese Biosecurity Labs. As it turns out, the State Department was (yet another federal agency!) involved in coronavirus research projects, components of which were conducted in China.
As Senator Paul emphasizes, the grant proposals and papers he has repeatedly requested are NOT classified. The trouble is not the legality of divulging them to the Senate, but the State Department’s refusal to divulge them.

Recently, the Sierra Club released its “Equity Language Guide,” to demonstrate its “commitment to equity, justice, and inclusion" by using "respectful, thoughtful language in all of our communications.”
Sierra is on paper a ‘grassroots’ environmental organization whose goal is to ‘defend everyone’s right to a healthy world,’ yet Sierra’s website refers to diversity, inclusion, equity, race, etc.
Sierra supports reparations for Black people, claiming that it’s “impossible to create a healthy, safe, and sustainable planet without acknowledging and materially addressing the past and present economic, cultural, psychological, and spiritual impacts of racism.”
Sierra’s business model is virtue-signaling

The right-wing “conspiracy theorists” have been saying that COVID originated in a lab in Wuhan, China and Anthony Fauci was involved. They insist the arrests over January 6 were unjust, Hunter Biden’s laptop was not “Russian disinformation,” and the “Deep State” is out to get Trump. (Snip) It seems to be common knowledge that the left-wing DA in Manhattan, Alvin Bragg, is going to try to arrest Donald Trump for some manipulated charges from seventeen years ago connected to his paying stripper Stormy Daniels money for an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) — which she broke. Wow, if you can’t trust a stripper/ho, whom can you trust? CORRECTION*

A little over a week ago, on Sunday, March 12, a near-catastrophic event occurred that could have wrecked the lives of everyone reading this:
A massive eruption of solar material, known as a coronal mass ejection or CME, was detected escaping from the Sun at 11:36 p.m. EDT on March 12, 2023. The CME erupted from the side of the Sun opposite Earth. (snip) If it had been facing in our direction, if the earth had borne the full brunt of that blast, we can scarcely imagine the results. It’s likely that all operating electrical systems would have been immediately destroyed, the same as the telegraph systems in 1859.

After attempting to navigate through the politics in order to curry favor with the base Republican voters on a Ukraine position, when confronted by Piers Morgan who is a pro-NATO war voice, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis now says his former position on Ukraine has been “mischaracterized” and Vladimir Putin “is a war criminal.” The walk back highlights once again that Ron DeSantis is an empty vessel using poll testing to formulate his policy stances. In recent years, the U.S. has suffered recurring banking crises almost like clockwork. Indeed, about every 10 years or so we seem to go through another financial panic, only to be followed by a spate of bad regulations passed to ensure “it won’t happen again.” But it always does. So how do we end this cycle?
U.S. banking disasters plagued the late 20th century and early 21st century. But of course they go back long before even that, to 1907 and 1929, as two examples.
More recently, there was the 1980s and ’90s savings and loan crisis, the 1998 collapse of Long-Term Capital Management and global crisis, the 2007 financial crisis

Democrat Senate Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) refused to state his confidence in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who is expected to indict former President Donald Trump.
Schumer’s remarks came during a press conference on Wednesday.“Do you have confidence in Alvin Bragg?” one reporter asked Schumer.Schumer refused to answer, instead insisting that it is “premature to comment” on the situation. “Look, the bottom line is, as I said, it’s premature to comment on what’s happening, and we’ll have to wait and see what he does,” Schumer responded.

Stocks slid after officials at the Federal Reserve announced a 0.25% increase in the target federal funds rate on Wednesday, continuing a slowdown from previous rate hikes meant to combat inflation and marking caution from policymakers given recent tumult in the banking sector.
Rate hikes increase the cost of borrowing money, lowering inflationary pressures as consumers and businesses assume less debt. Federal Reserve officials previously set interest rates targets between 0.0% and 0.25% during the lockdown-induced recession to stimulate economic activity; target interest rates now sit between 4.75% and 5.0%.

President Joe Biden’s Pentagon is arguing for gender-affirming care for minors as young as seven years old who belong to military families.
In a March edition of the American Journal of Public Health, Department of Defense providers expressed their support for children to be put on hormone blockers and sex change surgeries despite the dangers of its long-term effects, both mentally and physically. “Affirming care has only recently become politicized; protection of gender-affirming medical care for military-affiliated [transgender] youths may require a declarative position without tolerance for personal biases,

The Arizona Supreme Court issued a new order on Wednesday, sending a key piece of Kari Lake’s Election lawsuit back to the trial court for further review.
“IT IS ORDERED denying review of issues one through five and seven. The Court of Appeals aptly resolved these issues, most of which were the subject of evidentiary proceedings in the trial court, and Petitioner’s challenges on these grounds are insufficient to warrant the requested relief under Arizona or federal law,” states the order.
“IT IS FURTHER ORDERED granting review of issue number six to the extent count three of the complaint challenges the Maricopa County Recorder’s application of signature-verification policies during the election.

A newly surfaced letter from 2018 shows Michael Cohen lying to federal election officials about his infamous, $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels — which later helped send him to prison.
The letter, obtained by The Post on Wednesday, emerged as the disbarred lawyer appeared poised to become the star witness in an unprecedented criminal case against his ex-boss, former President Donald Trump.
In it, Cohen told the Federal Election Commission that he “used his own personal funds to facilitate a payment of $130,000 to Ms. Stephanie Clifford,” aka Daniels, in 2016.
“Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has been “struggling” to get a grand jury to indict former President Donald Trump, two sources familiar with the Manhattan DA office told the Daily Mail.
One source called Bragg’s case “weak” and said it is causing a rift within the DA’s office. “They are having trouble convincing the jury to swallow the case. It’s a weak case and has caused divisions in the DA’s office.”This revelation comes after the grand jury ended up not meeting on Wednesday to consider the charges against the former president. Rumors have swirled

How much is Michael Cohen’s testimony worth at this point?
I wrote about how his former legal adviser Robert Costello told the grand jury considering the case against President Donald Trump that Cohen was a serial liar, “far from solid evidence,” and that Cohen had told him that he never told Trump about the payment to Stormy Daniels, the crux of the case against President Donald Trump.
Now there’s more evidence that has newly surfaced that also throws a gut punch into the DA’s case. In a 2018 letter that Michael Cohen’s then-lawyer wrote to the Federal Election Commission, Cohen said that he “used his own personal funds

DirecTV and Newsmax have reached a new multiyear deal that will bring the conservative channel back to some 13 million customers this week.
The deal marks the end of a lengthy and bitter public relations battle between the two companies that hinged on carrier fees, with Newsmax’s leadership repeatedly accusing the cable provider of political bias. “Newsmax recognizes and appreciates that DirecTV clearly supports diverse voices, including conservative ones,” Newsmax CEO Christopher Ruddy said in a statement celebrating the agreement. “As a standalone company, DirecTV helped give Newsmax its start nearly a decade ago

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis toughened his stance on Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling Putin a “war criminal” who should be “held accountable” for the invasion of Ukraine, just days after he claimed the Ukraine war is not a “vital national interest.”
DeSantis angered Republican hawks, Never Trumpers, and neocons less than two weeks ago when he characterized the Ukraine-Russia conflict as a “territorial dispute” that is not a “vital” U.S. interests.
DeSantis told Fox News’s Tucker Carlson:
While the U.S. has many vital national interests — securing our border, addressing the crisis of readiness within our military, achieving energy security and independence, checking the economic, cultural, and military power of the Chinese
