A pair of climate activists in Scotland will face trial after allegedly vandalizing a display case holding national hero William Wallace’s broadsword. "The police say the accused believe they were raising awareness of climate change and that their actions were necessary for the cause," prosecutor Eilidh Smith said. Alexander Cloudley, 29 and Katrielle Chan, 21, both from Glasgow, pleaded not guilty to vandalism in Stirling Sheriff Court last week. They allegedly damaged and spray-painted the case holding Wallace of "Braveheart" fame’s sword. They each face a single charge alleging that, on March 2, they entered the National Wallace Monument and

They're not nuts op, they are staggeringly, beyond belief, IGNORANT ! This is the result of our ( and other countries ) elimination of primarily math, science and engineering from education curriculum ! If you spend a little time asking young people just general questions, you very discover that they really do not know ANYTHING or know how to do ANYTHING ! They have spent their entire education 'learning' about how mean and selfish and just generally bad people have been in the past and how their life's goal should be correcting all of these injustices and atoning for all the past injustices. On top of this they have been told and convinced that they and what they can accomplish in their lives is the ONLY hope for the salvation of mankind and far more importantly the salvation of the environment ! They accept this BS without question because they have NEVER been taught how to analyze ANYTHING. What we are seeing is the result of DECADES of 'Indoctrination to Stupid 101' thanks to our wonderful system of 'free education' and colleges/universities full of over payed tenured theoreticians ( AKA 'professors') who themselves have NEVER done or accomplished ANYTHING except GO TO SCHOOL !

To poster #8, regarding hanging, drawing and quartering... Nobody does this anymore, the skilled pool of executioners available for a proper job died many, many years ago. Would we have "tryouts" to ascertain promising candidates for hire? I'm willing to donate some American "Doctors" and politicians for job applicants to work on if that might be helpful....

RENO, Nev. — President Joe Biden’s administration said Monday it is taking steps to bar oil, gas and geothermal development for 20 years in northeastern Nevada’s Ruby Mountains. The administration said it has submitted an application to withdraw about 264,000 acres (107,000 hectares) of federal lands in the area from such leasing. That starts a 90-day public comment period on the 20-year prohibition and prevents oil, gas and geothermal development for two years during the process. (Snip) The move came three weeks before the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump, who has vowed to ramp up oil and gas production and

Homelessness in the U.S. jumped 18.1% this year, hitting a record level, with the dramatic rise driven mostly by a lack of affordable housing as well as devastating natural disasters and a surge of migrants in some regions of the country, federal officials said Friday. More than 770,000 people were counted as homeless in federally required tallies taken across the country during a single night in January 2024, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development said in its new report. Under the new law, companies with significant greenhouse gas emissions will be required to contribute to a state fund dedicated to infrastructure projects aimed at mitigating future climate change damage and repairing existing impacts. The legislation, approved earlier this year, compels major oil and gas companies to help cover the costs of recovery after extreme weather events. The funds will also support resilience projects, including coastal wetland restoration and upgrades to critical
