Want to know why Mayor Eric Adams is panicking? The numbers are ugly. New York City has no shortage of social problems, but Biden’s open borders crisis is really taking a bite out of the Big Apple.
Each illegal migrant costs NYC, over $10,000 a month. "New York City on average spends about $363 a day on each asylum seeker household receiving services in city shelters and emergency relief centers and is on track to spend a total of $1.4 billion by the end of the fiscal year in June, Office of Emergency Management Commissioner Zach Iscol said during a recent City Council hearing.

Who knew that Donna Brazile (who I met in a DC TV green room once, where she was perfectly charming, like most DC denizens) had entered a new career as a satirist for the New York Times. Having once been the campaign manager for the Al Gore presidential campaign in 2000, she has now been reduced to being as a “teacher” (but not “professor”?) in the “Women’s and Gender Studies Program at Georgetown University.” [Snip] I had to do a screen cap of the NY Times headline because readers might not believe me (or the Times might change it). Anyway:

Ivy Exile used to be a Democrat true believer. He graduated from Brown and worked for several years for Bill Moyers on PBS. He eventually became disenchanted with progressivism and, especially, with the discourse surrounding modern progressivism. Nothing illustrates this more than his most recent Substack post about the magic that went into making increasingly incoherent academics sound profound for airtime on Bill Moyers’ show.
(Note: I don’t know Ivy Exile’s sex. I’m using “he” because, in the world of traditional grammar, “he” is the default when in doubt. When it comes to grammar, I’m a traditionalist.)

In previous administrations throughout the history of the United States, the question didn’t even come up. Harry Truman had a sign on his desk proclaiming “The Buck Stops Here,” and no one doubted that it did. When Secretary of State William Seward wrote to President Abraham Lincoln politely offering to take over the heavy lifting of actually being the commander-in-chief, Lincoln just as politely replied that he would handle things, and he did. Nobody ever wondered if Theodore Roosevelt or Dwight D. Eisenhower were really in charge.
But questions have swirled around Old Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities

There is an urgent immediate need for specially crafted county ordinances and state laws to protect American citizens from the totalitarian dictates of the international World Health Organization (WHO). As early as May 2023, due to a voluntary loss of U.S. sovereignty by the Biden administration, the WHO will have authority to dictate medical practice and treatments in America under WHO-declared pandemic situations, which can be manufactured at will by WHO supporters and intermediaries.
In other words, WHO "elite" leaders and supporters (who include the Chinese Communist Party) will be able to dictate what American physicians, hospitals, health care workers, etc. can and cannot do during a pandemic.

A substantial majority of American voters believe that allowing Joe Biden’s reinterpretation of Title IX to allow biological males to play women’s sports has had negative effects on women’s sports.
According to the poll, which was conducted by Summit.org in partnership with McLaughlin and Associates, 60% of voters say it’s been harmful to women’s sports, while 18% say it’s been helpful. When 22% of respondents without an opinion aren’t included, 77% of voters find allowing biological men to compete in women’s sports to be harmful, and only 23% say it’s helpful.

“If we were going to push for an election, then we should have made sure that we did something to determine who was going to win,” said then-Sen. Hillary Clinton in a 2006 interview with the Jewish Press. She was talking about an election of the Palestinian Legislative Council (the legislature of the Palestinian National Authority) that was won handily by Hamas, to the chagrin of the United States. The UK Observer, which listened to the one existent audio recording of the interview, quoted Hillary in October 2016. At that time, Donald Trump was catching flack for saying that the upcoming presidential election was already rigged. Hillary’s nonchalant admission —

In 2002, John B. Judis and Ruy Teixeira published a book entitled The Emerging Democratic Majority. Judis and Teixeira posited that historic voting patterns, urbanization, and growing minority populations could lead to Democrat party electoral dominance. However, the Democrats misinterpreted “could” to mean “would” and missed the point of the book. It wasn’t telling them what would happen. It was suggesting what could happen, if they played “big tent” politics.
Due to that misinterpretation, their book became the holy grail of the Left -- and a big justification for keeping our borders open. All the Democrats had to do was

For over two years, Democrats have portrayed the Jan. 6 Capitol riot as a deadly insurrection staged by supporters of then-President Donald Trump and elevated the threat it posed to our “democracy” to the level of the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor and the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
They did so by cherry-picking the surveillance footage the public was allowed to see and keeping the rest under wraps for “security reasons.”
On his Monday night show, Tucker Carlson shared some of the previously unseen footage and it told a remarkably different story than the one that has been force-fed to the American people by the highly partisan and duplicitous House Jan. 6 Committee.

Mayor Eric Adams wants the Big Apple’s retailers to make customers remove their masks in a bid to stem the ongoing shoplifting epidemic — but some merchants are wary of how they’re going to enforce that.
“We are putting out a clear call to all of our shops: Do not allow people to enter the store without taking off their face mask,” Adams said Monday on 1010 WINS radio. “And then once they’re inside, they can continue to wear it if they so desire to do so.
Adams said the move would help cops “use the technology we have available to identify those shoplifters and those who are committing serious crimes.”

Happy Tuesday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. (Snip) When House Speaker Kevin McCarthy released 44,000 hours of previously unseen footage of the J6 insurrection that never was, the collective pants-wetting among the Democrats and their media vultures made it immediately clear that they feared what the American public might find out. They have, after all, been even more married to their J6 lies than their COVID-19 lies ever since President LOLEightyonemillion got into office.
Tucker Carlson began slow-playing the rollout of some of the footage on Fox News last night. Before the show aired, Victoria gave a preview of what we might see:

Sen. John Fetterman somehow cosponsored legislation on rail safety last week despite being voluntarily committed for severe depression at Walter Reed hospital. Now, Fetterman’s office has released photos clearly meant for those who raised questions over whether the senator was actually working or unelected staffers were doing the work and attributing it to him.
On Monday afternoon, Adam Jentleson, Fetterman’s chief of staff, posted photos of him and the ailing senator having a “productive” meeting at Walter Reed, discussing the rail safety legislation. [Tweet] Jentleson, who has come under fire for blocking people who ask how Fetterman could be cosponsoring legislation while committed, claims the photos show he is
