We’ve had enough of the left’s guilt-tripping anyone who drives a gasoline-powered car. If anyone should be ashamed, it is those who are smugly plugging in their cars each night.
They are the ones responsible for raping the planet, poisoning entire communities, enriching genocidal tyrants, and creating a massive hazmat problem while doing nothing to stop “climate change.”
Does that sound harsh?
Here’s one recent bit of evidence. A Bloomberg investigation found that the aluminum Ford is using to build its “eco-friendly” EV pickup comes from Brazil. “There, in the heart of the Amazon,

This is a great article, but common sense has long sinse told us that EVs were unsustainable.

Omg, evil? Oh please.
Summary: the companies mining for materials are doing a bad job of environmental management and screwing up the nearby water ways and making people sick. And EVs push co2 production from the car to the power plant.
The first happens all the time and is not magically specific to EV. The second is obvious to anyone that power isn't free and has to be produced -somewhere-.
EVs are not eeevvvvuuuulllll! They are a different and optional transport technology with various pluses and minuses compared to current ICE stabdard vehicles. No more. No less.
The problem is the government trying to force them down everyone's throats. EVs are not eeeevvvvuuulllll! The government is.
EVs have a place in the world. ICE have a place in the world. The government making that choice for citizens does not have a place in the world.
Keep the focus where it belongs, the government forcing them by mandates, not on a technology that's existed for a hundred years.
If the government wasn't mandating them then no one would care about EVs.

EV's are just a toy for the wealthy as who else can afford them? The ultra rich always need a diversion from their bordom and now they can even get a sizeable "rebate" while EV manufacturers raise the price of their cars in comparison. What a sick joke it all is because all of this is also pushing inflation in all other areas the rest of hard working taxpayers deal with. When I tried to point out & question how the production of these vehicles needing such "super" batteries was helping the environment I was met with such liberal outrage I kept it to myself! You know- just casual questions as who was mining for the lithium in African mines and where else could the components be found and at what cost - and don't even mention disposal of EV components as that's a liberal no-no as they roll along going from charging station to charging station provided by electricity generated by good old resources.

EVs are not "sustainable".
EVs are not even possible.
In as much as the metals and rare earths necessary
to make them in the quantities required
do not even physically exist on the planet.
So, if EVs are not a "solution", what are they?
EVs are a distraction.
EVs are they "shiny object" your "betters" hope to hold your attention
while they outlaw your ICE car.
They hope that by the time you figure it out you'll be a serf in your apartment.
Apartment not house.
You will own nothing, and be happy. (or else)

“EV’s have a place in the world”.
Yes, in the history books with other products that failed the truest of the marketplace like Beta tapes.
Seeing as how in the 19th century, EV lost out to the FAR SUPERIOR energy transfer application of ICE mobility, we all should recognize EV’s as the luxury golf carts that they are.

The Ford "Lightning" Pick up truck . $90,000 dollars and totally useless as a truck.
It won't take the load, you cannot pull a trailer.
You can load it you can pull the trailer for a block or so, but it simply does not work, which is why most of us buy a pick up to get work out of it.

5, that's for the market to determine.
Not the government.
So tiresome seeing people up in arms about a random technology instead of the government mandates about them.
No one would care if not for government mandates.
Stay focused on the real issue: government.

Let's face it: The Left and their Green allies hate whales, young Third World children slaving away in cobalt mines, trees, birds,.bats, traditional American and of course, cheap and plentiful fossil fuels retrieved from the East in environmental and worker safe ways.

#2, If the government wasn't mandating them then almost no one would purchase them and production would cease. Tax credits are forcing me to finance someone's folly.

Follow the $$$ ..how many companies pushing EV's have a Big $$ interest in China?? China has the monopoly on batteries. I waiting for them to start pushing the elimination of Jet fuel!!! It appears to be missing or immune from their agenda!

Flashback: Bond Villain: there are billions to be made from this EV thing. Minion 1: yeah boss, but hardly anyone wants them; too expensive, limited travel distance, recharging hassles...it's not feasible. Bond Villain: well then we FORCE them to buy them, right? Vegetable: I got this! BV: Excellent!

Lithium-ion battery powered vehicles cannot safety be parked in buildings because of battery spontaneous combustion. Where are people who reside in multi-family buildings going to park their EVs overnight? Think about New York City apartments.

And another issue that almost always goes unchallenged; why are we trying to eliminate carbon (“net zero”) and more specifically CO2? All life on earth is carbon based, correct? We humans are around 20% carbon. Plant life will die without CO2 and all life will die without plants.
Current atmospheric CO2 is actually very low. Almost all plants would thrive if it was triple or quadruple (1200-1600ppm) what it is now (400ppm) and that would have no effect on “climate change” or would adversely affect human or other animal life.

9, yes, that's -exactly- the point. The government is mandating them and providing your money as a tax break.
Don't hate the player, hate the game. The game is the government forcing this on us.
EV is just a random technology. Let the market decide.
And yes I agree, without mandates and tax breaks they would always be a niche product and there is nothing wrong with that. They should not be forced on us nor should they be banned and flagged as "eeeevvvvuuullll!!!1111". It's just a technology choice, suitable for some tasks and not others.

I just sold my 20yo diesel pickup for half of what I paid for it new to a man who installs solar to be used as a camper. He got a good deal.

This is no different than leftists calling guns evil.
The people forcing them onto the general public are probably evil, but the machines themselves are just machines, neither evil nor good.
