Who Are The ‘HEROES’ In The Student
Loan Cancellation Case?

Original Article

Tomorrow the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in a pair of challenges to the Biden administration’s plan to cancel up to $20,000 in federally held student debt for borrowers making less than $125,000 (or $250,000 for a household). There’s a lot at stake in Biden v. Nebraska and Department of Education v. Brown, not the least of which is the $430 billion estimated cost of the program. The case involves important constitutional questions, like whether the president may “interpret” an old law to achieve a far-reaching policy goal. It’s a legal reckoning that the Biden administration worked hard to avoid.

There's a lot to be said here. It all started with socialist security. Instead of cutting taxes and let people take care of themselves lets raise taxes and make them dependent on the government. Socialist security was started to help widows keep their homes. It's expanded a bit. And people who think SS is a retirement plan should hang their heads in shame.

For households that make more than 250Gs..... If the court says this can go forward, I'd bet some people will be taking a week or two off so they don't report more than $249,000.

The HEROES that it was passed for in 2003 were those who saw 9-11 as a defining moment to serve this Nation against those who succeeded in the horrific attacks on US soil. My cousin's son, a college grad who could have benefited from the Heroes Act passage, volunteered for Army service & became a Green Beret. On his first tour of Afghanistan he was killed in action with others. Sgt Marc Small should have had his school debt forgiven, if he did have any at the time. Our son joined Navy in 2007 & put in the match educational savings to increase his GI bennies. After he separated from service he decided not to go to college but went into business. Those dollars should have been transferable to any other student's debt, like his sibs, or made available to him for his biz expense. How about Congress get on revising that instead of using our taxes like a payola scheme to reward the tick army of looters.

Heck, Biden just gave more than that amount to Ukraine and they don't even vote in US elections. If he was smart (ha, ha, ha!) he would promise the loan payback in annual amounts provided that a democrat sat in the Oval Office at the time. Making these Schiff-less bums debt-free immediately is no guarantee that they will ever bother to vote again.

Is it just me, or is it a pattern.... a fact..... that every time the Federal government gets involved in a program concerning finances, they twist it around to a vote-buying scheme and the whole thing turns to Feces. I am thinking of the situations with.... -The Federal Budget ($30,000,000,000 in debt) -Social Security (Rapidly going broke from overgenerous payouts that were not scaled back as the generational situation changed.) -Student Loans (This is a relatively new one, but the Democ'RATS have managed to 'Run the Ship Onto the Rocks' in just a few years.)

For more than two years, Democrats and the media have been completely and totally fixated on the events of Jan. 6, 2021, using carefully selected clips from more than 40,000 hours of surveillance footage to tell their story of a violent insurrection. But now that Fox News has gained access to the complete video record and is providing the public with a far more complete picture of what happened that day, we fully expect the left to suddenly decide that Jan. 6 isn’t worth talking about any more. Shortly after Republicans took control of the House, Speaker Kevin McCarthy

Americans were repeatedly told by their own government and by major media outlets in recent years that the COVID-19 virus originated naturally, that it couldn’t be a human-made virus. Now, recent reports strongly suggest, that the virus probably escaped from China’s government-run Wuhan Institute of Virology. What to do? Given the magnitude of the recent revelations, the I&I/TIPP Poll sought to ask the public how the U.S. government should respond. The overall reaction: The government needs to dig deeply into the origin and transmission of the deadly virus and tell Americans the truth about it.

The narrative: The virus that caused the COVID-19 pandemic was naturally occurring and policymakers and the medical establishment acted only out of concern for our health. The truth: Still largely unknown at this point, but there are growing reasons to believe that it’s not even remotely related to the narrative. Almost every day the Story of COVID unravels, and we learn how much of it was a yarn used to tie us up in knots. Of all the narrative-changing reports that have surfaced, none illustrates this more than a weekend London Telegraph story, which reveals that former British Health Secretary

During a roundtable discussion on his show, Maher makes a point about how the words “equality” and “equity” mean two different things. Then he turns to Sanders and asks: “So how would you differentiate between equity and equality?” The question baffles Sanders at first. “I don’t know what the answer to that is.” But then he says, “I think that, you know,

We’ve had enough of the left’s guilt-tripping anyone who drives a gasoline-powered car. If anyone should be ashamed, it is those who are smugly plugging in their cars each night. They are the ones responsible for raping the planet, poisoning entire communities, enriching genocidal tyrants, and creating a massive hazmat problem while doing nothing to stop “climate change.” Does that sound harsh? Here’s one recent bit of evidence. A Bloomberg investigation found that the aluminum Ford is using to build its “eco-friendly” EV pickup comes from Brazil. “There, in the heart of the Amazon,

In April 1977, under the dark cloud of the energy crisis, President Jimmy Carter told the nation that the difficult effort needed to move beyond the shortages and high prices of that era “will be the moral equivalent of war.” Carter didn’t directly recommend rationing, but it’s clear he wanted Americans to make sacrifices. Nearly a half century later, there’s another “crisis” that requires sacrifice: We must save ourselves from global warming. “World War II-style rationing,” reports PhysOrg, “could be an effective way to reduce carbon emissions, according to new research from the University of Leeds.” It’s not the first time climate alarmists

Thanks to the efforts of individual citizens in their communities throughout all regions of the country, this nation was well on its way to racial healing. President Joe Biden released his budget on Thursday, vowing to cut $3 trillion from the federal deficit over the next decade, in part, by levying a 25% minimum tax on the wealthiest Americans. Biden also raises more revenue by increasing taxes on oil and gas companies, hiking the corporate tax rate to 28%, up from 21% imposed under former President Donald Trump but below the 35% tax pre-2017, and allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices. With Biden likely to run for re-election in 2024, his budget is also a preview into his platform as a candidate and campaign pitch in the year ahead.
