Sunday Question – The Inversion and Awakening

Original Article

Here’s a question I have. I am looking forward to your opinion. I have my own. In the Trump -vs- DeSantis storyline the following data points are generally agreed: ♦Approximately 75% of the Big Con “INFLUENCERS” (Big $) and punditry Support Ron DeSantis ♦Approximately 25% of the Small “Influencers” (Small $) and Indy punditry Support Donald Trump. Meanwhile, amid the voting base the inverse is true: ♦Approximately 25% of the conservative, working-class, base voters support Ron DeSantis ♦Approximately 75% of the conservative, working-class, base voters support Donald Trump Reconcile this inversion. What does it mean?

Uh gosh it means real people want Trump and big money establishment GOP types want DeSantis? Was that rhetorical?

DeSantis is now, and always has been, a machine politician. That means he does the bidding of the deep state, as in Mitch and the gang. Trump is a populist and a patriot who follows his own lead wherever possible. Here's the thing. DeSantis WON'T save the nation. Trump CAN'T save the nation. The deep state has won. Everybody knows it. The nation is on the precipice of failure and it isn't worth saving if it goes WEF/globalist. The divorce is coming...like it or not. Get ready. That is the only way to neuter the deep state. Let's hope and pray that some of our progeny can try this experiment again someday, and for God's sake, read the history of this collapse.

It means that the "Big Con “INFLUENCERS” (Big $) and punditry" have a lot of defense stocks in their portfolios, and they like getting invitations to those parties where they pour wine that costs more than they could spend (around $10 a bottle) and there are enough canapes to amount to a full meal. They're also hoping that if they suck up enough, somebody will put them in a chair as the token conservative in some 'think tank.' The defense stocks, you see, aren't spinning out quite enough in the way of dividends. The 'voting base' eats its own food.

# 2, you CANNOT look at DeSantis' performance as governor and conclude that he does the bidding of McConnell or the Deep State. It is distressing.to see so many on this board who believe whatever Sundance tells them to think and believe that DJT will ride in on his flying red horse, brandishing a flaming sword of retribution, and magically save the nation.

#5 actually you can. It's called bait and switch. It has been perfected by the Republican party. Romney, McConnell, Ryan, bush, mccain.. I could go on and on. Jeb low energy Bush is in many photos, with DeSantis. Ryan supports him. He's a good governor. Watch how fast he pivots if installed in the People's House. The biggest mistake here is to look upon this as Trump vs DeSantis. It isn’t. It is Trump vs No Trump. That is where the rank & file base vs the money bags struggle comes in. Trump will easily pull 50,000 strong rallies. DeSantis won’t get 10% of that. It will be open for all to see. My money is on Trump ( if he wants it).,

# 6, you make no case against DeSantis. In case you haven't figured it out, any GOP presidential candidate is going to need the support of the entire party in order to have a chance of being successful. Yes, that includes the RINO contingent. 2016 is not going to repeat itself, as much as we like the idea.

Before he was governor and before he was a congressman, DeSantis was a Lt. Commander and JAG lawyer in the U.S. Navy, serving at the Guantanamo Bay terrorist detention camp. Harper magazine, March, 2023 has a disturbing story about some of his actions while there. If DeSantis becomes GOP candidate, this story will hit the press and, true or not, blow him out of the water. It's nasty, related by a supposedly eye witness.

And you thought that we really had a chance, and that the 2020 election was not a bipartisan steal? We need to face facts. Trump is toast, no matter how much support and how many votes he gets. 2020 was bad, 2024 would be worse. A crappy situation, but there it is.

It is tiresome when Anti-Trumpers dating back to 2015 try to pull the old tattered “they’re kist swallowing whole everytiing Sundance says”. It is insulting and offputting. Right up there (or down there) with the cult rubbish they threw in desperation. DeSantis has done a good job with a state. President Trump did a great job with our country, our economy and much more while constantly under fire from all sides. Trump maintained his independence. DeSantis is clearly establishment/Wall Street supported. There is no question who is the populist. It is still early days though DeSantis Inc is already hastening to get hm totally packaged. Sadly it shows. We’ll see. But skip the ad hominem stuff. Tried brfore by the desperate and fearful. Didn’t work thern; won’t work now.

C'mon # 14, you're better than that. DeSantis consistently stands with the people of Florida and takes the heat for it. What else can you expect from an elected official? I am proud to call him my governor. Trump is a different breed of cat in some ways. Each of them will do what he thinks he has to do, but don't go disparaging. A governor who has met any reasonable definition of "populist".

To the best of my knowledge, I have never disparaged Governor DeSantis. On the contrary I was following him as an interestring young legislator with higher possibilities when he would appear as a commitree member in House investigative hearings. I don’t remember seeing any of his current fans here cheering for him back then. What I didn’t know then was that he had a lot of support to get where he was and not all of it from populist sources. It seems others had their eyes on him, too. I am concerned about that support now. It is never a free gift. Repayment is always expected. Was it ever so.

Our Watch, a California parental rights nonprofit, is to file a lawsuit Tuesday in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California Western Division against Attorney General Rob Bonta. The filing, to be submitted by Advocates for Faith and Freedom, demands a jury trial regarding Senate Bill 107, which Newsom signed into law in September. It also seeks injunctive relief, a judicial declaration that the law is unconstitutional, as well as the recovery of attorney fees.

Columbia, Harvard, the University of Chicago, Stanford, Mount Sinai, and the University of Pennsylvania have already done so. The list already tops forty, and more are sure to follow. Of course, the universities won’t admit what they are doing – and certainly not why. All they will say is that their new standards add “equity” and “lived experience.” Unfortunately, adding those factors inevitably lessens the weight given to others.
