The large and influential social justice warrior community in the San Francisco Bay Area is reeling with the news of the death of one of their prominent members, 48-year-old Jennifer Angel. Ms. Angel (snip) was an outspoken and active proponent of left-wing causes, as acknowledged in a statement issued by family and friends following her death: "We know Jen would not want to continue the cycle of harm by bringing state-sanctioned violence to those involved in her death or to other members of Oakland’s rich community. As a long-time social movement activist and anarchist, Jen did not believe in state violence, carceral punishment, or incarceration..."
Maybe if they had locked up her attacker previously she would still be alive. It's evolution in action, it is...

The execution of our laws is not supposed to be based on individual preferences. This woman payed the ultimate price for being wrong, but she and her family should not have the ability to put others in danger.

#2, how can a "Jesus lover" possibly experience schadenfreude at the violent death of anyone much less that of Ms Angel, who was so obviously mentally ill in her world of make-believe?

Naïvete can be fatal in the worst cases, such as this one. Ms. Angel, a dedicated opponent of incarcerating dangerous criminals, became a cautionary tale. Wanting to empty the world's prisons is insane. The two-legged wolves who prey on the vulnerable must be put away or, better, shot down in the act.

I could've sworn I posted on this exact article earlier, but it looks like that thread was removed...so I'll try again, but before I begin, I just want to share this from the article:
Angel Cakes owner Jennifer Angel was leaving her parking spot in the garage of the Wells Fargo on the 2000 block of Webster Street on Monday afternoon when a car pulled up in front of her and blocked her from leaving, her fiance, Ocean Mottley, told The Chronicle. A robber then broke her passenger side window and grabbed something from the car, after which Angel ran after the thieves, suspects, Mottley said. In the process of trying to chase them down, Angel, 48, got caught in the door of the fleeing vehicle and was dragged more than 50 feet before falling in the middle of the street, hitting her head multiple several times [sic], Mottley said.
While I blame the assailants for her death, she also played a role in her own death. If you believe the drivel written in the obituary, then one has to wonder why her immediate reaction was to exit her vehicle and chase down the thieves to retrieve (or demand) her material possessions? If you believe what is written about her, it seems like she would've stayed in her car and realized that her materials belongings were just that and lived another day. Her first instinct was to fight back. I find that very interesting given that she is portrayed as someone who was beyond altruistic...someone who would've given another person the shirt off her back. Didn't play out like that in reality.

I had a friend of mine who lived near the BART station not far from where this happened. Oakland was an ok city to walk around but this was the early 90s. Now not so much. Also no one deserves to die the way Ms. Angel did but she set herself and others in her city up for failure in not making sure violent criminals are locked up and remain that way.

My condolences to Jennifer Angel's loved ones, but please rethink the reality of your convictions, the very ones which cost Jen her life. Violence is a part of this world; always has been, and always will be. Isn't it better that society establish institutions to confine violent individuals even if that requires force?
This has been happening all over your city and all over our nation. Now, sadly, it has visited you and yours. Please learn from your loss.

If caught her wishes would be to release her murderer(s)? My wishes would not be the same execution or release them on an isolated prison island. If the die on the island its gods will.

An intelligent person who takes her position is perhaps even more evil than the predators she promoted. There had to be within her and her kind a deep and depraved hatred for humanity.

My guess is in life she was often praised for her restorative justice beliefs. Unfortunately, Ms. Angels beliefs contributed to her death.

Chasing a robber after a robbery is how a lot of decedent victims wind up dead. That's what happened to this unfortunate woman. FTA: "There is no way to know with certainty the background of the murder or murderers, but my understanding is that most violent crime is the work of a relatively small group of habitual offenders." That line might be the most important in this essay. Thomas Lifson's understanding is the same as mine: If violent criminals are incarcerated, removed from the street, the streets will be safer for law abiding citizens. It's a shame that Jennifer Angel was not capable of grokking that. It's fairly simple, except to those enslaved by leftist ideology.
