As if you needed anything to seal the deal about the fraudiness of green and socially conscious investments, Barron's has a report (free version here) about investors now fleeing wokester Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) investment funds, which bill themselves as "sustainable investments."
Investors yanked the most money out of U.S. sustainable funds in more than five years last quarter, withdrawing a net nearly $6.2 billion to round out a tough year for environmental, social, and governance strategies.
The net flow of money into U.S. sustainable mutual and exchange-traded funds has diminished steadily

In shunning energy investments, they left money on the table for other investors to enjoy. Boobs.

Perhaps the sole benefit of economic disruption
is that it forces a lot of fluff out of the system.
For the first time I can actually see this process as
"Creative Destruction".

As usual, the progressive left does not understand one basic thing.......a person makes investments with the money he has earned in order to maximize his future wealth. That person invests with the intent of improving his life in the future...NOT to adhere to some idiotic greenie ideology

Go woke , go broke.! Unfortunately it is not just Mutual Funds and Wall Street that is playing this game. Corporate America has jumped in too. Have you seen commercials on TV lately? Suntan lotions are being advertised using African American models. The pandering has become cringeworthy., My stomach begins to turn every time I see commercials where blacks are playing white people and upper middle class lifestyles. If I was black I would be insulted beyond nausea.

If this investor wants to financially support ESG companies - that is his business. Investment funds have but one job - to make money for me. I'll choose what to do with my money, thank you. Charity is what I choose to do - not what someone else does with my money.

My thinking is...people listened to Dick Morris and his explanation regarding the fund...and pulled their money out....it's called free enterprise...and I'm happy it made a few greenies think twice about the BS stories about the climate...Kerry may have to sell his yacht...and the Clinton foundation is hurting for funds....and Gore is out of control with his predictions...didn't he say WE would be under water in the coastal states by now?...seem to remember his concern for the polar bears dying out by now...actually they are flourishing....

I never saw a Blackrock Investment commercial on TV until States announced they would not invest in it any longer due to ESG. Now I see ads nightly.

I might invest in ESG if 'Get Woke, Go Broke' wasn't a real thing.

My bank proudly put a big ESG banner on their website. I immediately started moving my assets elsewhere. ESG tells me they are going to use my money on money losing projects without regard to protecting my assets or with any interest in seeing my assets grow. No thanks!

The difficulty is that Vanguard, Blackrock, and others have embraced woke in all their fund investing. Investors are not very happy about it. It is an abomination that these powerful companies can vote all the shares in their funds by proxy, and the investor's have no voice. This is why American corporations are all woke now.

In a related move, some states are pulling out pension funds and bonds from banks that refuse to service arms businesses. Just more ESG.
A special hat tip to poster 5. I've given up on TV because of the ads. Even streaming services I pay for have gone full woke.

This is from a separate article about big-on-ESG firm Blackrock: BlackRock which is “one of the world’s leading providers of investment, advisory and risk management solutions” according to Bloomberg saw their assets undermanagement drop significantly in the last year. The firm’s assets dropped from $9.5 trillion down to $8 trillion seeing a $1.5 trillion dollar loss in assets.
It's a start.

I left them about 4-5 years ago. My financial advisors know that we don't invest in leftist funds. They are bad politics and bad investments.

#2, those stupid lefties are handing your 401(k) funds. And even if you are clever enough to move your money to other funds, when the Black Rocks tank they will take down a lot of otherwise solid investment banks as they fall.
The cost of allowing the left to take over Academia will be paid for decades, in tarnished treasure and lost liberty.

people who have com csst say it's very costly compared to other telecoms
companies....some blame this on the esg--calling it a grift for politically correct/
socialist causes and high-profile flop$$$ w/ the pla.
not very sustainable sounding.

When a winged ESG mates with a Democrat drone, you get a Glossinidae. Similarly, if a lowly little guppy, (aka millionfish) ingests too much scum, then mates out of it's genus, it could give rise to a more deadly and much uglier type piranha.
