Maserati Manchin's next grift

Original Article

I am a West Virginian. I am not now nor have I ever been a supporter of Joe Manchin. Over the decades, I did not vote for him for secretary of state, governor or senator. But I must salute his unapologetic abuse of campaign finance laws. He is living large on other people’s money. He owns a yacht and a Maserati, and racked up $1 million in fine-dining bills as he lives the lifestyle of the rich and famous — and he just may run for president next year. That’s where the big money is. Just ask Democrat Martin O'Malley. (Snip) Presidential elections are now a multi-billion-dollar industry.

Comments:

Surber covers a lot of grifters who made big money as losing candidates, including Stacey Abrams, John Edwards, and far back to Harold Stassen. Also would-be grifters like Liz Cheney. It's entertaining and infuriating.

What is with very wealthy women who either inherited their wealth or married into it (Bunny Mellon, the ex-wife of Bezos and Bill Gates, etc) who just write large checks for all these lefties?

There is something fundamentally wrong with a system that allows you to run for office, lose and keep the money donated for your campaign!

Manchin didn't even get one of the cool performance Maseratis, he bought the family sedan. He showed equal class when he sold out his entire state for personal gain. I hope he has a good security detail when those around him begin losing jobs and getting hungry. If these grifters were smart they would drive Fords and live in ranch houses but if they were smart instead of greedy they would be good leaders. Like Liz Cheney, in his own mind, he is loved by everybody.

An easy way to make millions by running for president is to put your spouse in charge of advertising. You can pay your spouse an unlimited amount as a percentage of what you spend for advertising, which is commonly where most of the campaign money goes. Just look at Vermont’s communist Bernie.

Pfizer Director Speaks Giddily About Manipulating SARS-CoV-2 12 replies

Watching a Project Veritas undercover sting operation invariably leaves me with mixed feelings. On the one hand, I’m struck with admiration for yet another one of James O’Keefe’s bold strokes against the corrupt empire that now dominates our world. On the other hand, I’m shocked by the disclosure that the Empire is staffed by such moral and intellectual lightweights. Though incredible, it appears that the subject of O’Keefe’s latest sting, Jordon Walker, really is a Pfizer Director of Research & Development Strategic Operations. Here he is giddily talking about deliberately mutating SARS-CoV-2 by means of “directed evolution” in order to keep Pfizer’s mRNA vaccine gravy train going.

Trump or DeSantis? It doesn't matter. Phantom voters will decide 2024. The phantoms are not voting for either. Those working deep in swing state voter rolls can tell you with 100% certainty that unless Trump or DeSantis wins with a 5%-to-18% margin in swing states, they will lose every one. Let's do some electioneering math. To win the presidency, about a dozen swing states matter — we all know who they are. Some will add Georgia, Virginia, and Arizona, some not. President Trump won in 2016 because he caught the leftists off guard. Perhaps even Trump was surprised on Election Night — the surprise was so complete!

Maintain your future orientation, and attacks bounce off. Returning to Sam Harris vs. Bret Weinstein, how and why does someone like Weinstein stand up to the daily drumbeat of you’re-literally-murdering-grandma character assassination? I’m confident I know the answer without asking, because I’ve been in a comparable position. Harris suggests it with his view that Weinstein was right but isn’t right, because he was right when it was wrong to be right, which is wrong. Biden’s misappropriated classified documents problem keeps getting worse with a second tranche of documents being discovered at another location. It is now clear that the first set of classified documents found at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement was not an isolated incident. Despite that, the FBI and National Archives are continuing to take a casual approach to the case. There have been no raids of Biden facilities. And won’t be. But beyond the misappropriation of classified documents, a violation of the Espionage Act, the discovery renews old questions about the foreign connections of Joe Biden and his family.

"If you got the briefing I got from the FBI, you wouldn't have Swalwell on any committee," McCarthy said in the press conference after one reporter questioned MCarthy's commitment to allowing Democrats to pick their own committee membership. Elon Musk is transforming Twitter from a government censorship bureau into a powerhouse of investigative journalism. The Biden Junta doesn’t like it. Musk’s tweet of “My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci” drew a furious reaction from White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who said criticizing Dr. Fauci was “dangerous,” “disgusting” and “divorced from reality.” Musk didn’t think so, and started digging deeper. On December 28, Musk tweeted, “Almost no one seems to realize that the head of bioethics at NIH – the person who is supposed to make sure that Fauci behaves ethically – is his wife.” That would be National Institutes of Health bioethics boss Christine Grady.

(Snip) Canada’s most famous public intellectual, Jordan Peterson, brought that meme to real life this week when he announced he’d rather never work again than be forced onto the couch. The College of Psychologists of Ontario has told Peterson that if he doesn’t go to therapy—sorry, a board-mandated “Coaching Program” with a board-issued therapist—it may revoke his license to practice psychology. The majestic structures of ancient Rome have survived for millennia — a testament to the ingenuity of Roman engineers, who perfected the use of concrete. But how did their construction materials help keep colossal buildings like the Pantheon (which has the world's largest unreinforced dome) and the Colosseum standing for more than 2,000 years? Roman concrete, in many cases, has proven to be longer-lasting than its modern equivalent, which can deteriorate within decades. Now, scientists behind a new study say they have uncovered the mystery ingredient that allowed the Romans to make their construction material so durable and build elaborate structures in challenging places such as docks, sewers and earthquake zones.

An elevated rate of Bell’s palsy was identified among elderly people after vaccination with a Pfizer booster shot, U.S. regulators said in a new study. The “small but statistically significant elevation” in Bell’s palsy was detected after vaccination with Pfizer’s old booster, which is no longer available in the United States, researchers with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said in a preprint study. The elevated rate resulted in an adjusted incidence rate ratio of 1.13 and remained consistent when researchers adjusted for different factors, such as prior COVID-19 infection. A rate above one shows a possible connection between the vaccine and an adverse event.
