NIKKI HALEY TEASES PRESIDENTIAL RUN, WOULD BEGIN ON BROKEN PROMISE. In a new interview with Fox News's Bret Baier, former South Carolina governor and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley walked close to the line of declaring her candidacy for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. "I'm not going to make an announcement here," Haley said. "But when you're looking at a run for president, you look at two things. You first look at, does the current situation push for new leadership? The second question is, am I that person that could be that new leader?"

She was born to green Card holders. And technically is not a natural Born Citizen and therefore ineligible for the office. This was not invoked when the Kenyan illegal was seeking office because he is a black Democrat. Nikke Haley is neither. You bet the SCOTUS will rule against her if she becomes a serious threat. But as said elsewhere on this thread, the likelihood of that happening is remote.

She was born in the United States therefore she is a natural citizen since she did not need to become naturalized. Obama was born in the USA. Same goes for him.

She's a dangerous pretender, for sale to the highest bidder. Trump supported her. She then stabbed him in the back when she thought (wrongly) that it would advance her career.

Apparently spending time in the political spotlight has engendered development of hubris in Ms. Haley. Not a good sign. Nemesis always shows up soon thereafter.

Haley is running to gain a publicly funded Haley promotion fund. Spend your money promoting yourself. Let Haley finance her own career.

And dear Reply 12: it's so cute that you believe Obama was "born here." I guess you didn't see his very own literary biography, published 1991 which identified Barack Obama as having been born in Kenya. Of course, he had no reason to lie then; it was only when he decided (or it was decided for him) to run for the presidency that his American birth (to a Kenyan father, beyond any doubt) became more prominently featured.

I once thought of Nikki as a real ball bu_ _ _ r and an excellent example of the kind of people our President was encircling himself with "but, but, but, but" she's lost her shine and her stature as far as I/m concerned - a presidential run?, forget it, Nikki, you had your chance and you stepped all over yourself with your perceived importance

Another would-be candidate who forgot a basic fact of modern life: the internet is FOREVER. Somewhere, there’s visual, oral and written evidence of every dumb thing she’s said, and every dumb thing she did. She’s finished.

Trump should look at this as good news. The more people that run and split the vote, the better for Trump, who has about 1/3 of the Republicans in his hip pocket. If he runs head-to-head against DeSantis, that's a different story. I know a lot of the hard core Trump supporters don't like Trump to hear it, but I don't think we can win a general election with Trump - far too many Independents and women will not vote for him (look at how they voted against Trump's hand picked Senate candidates in 2022). Winning in 2024 is critical to the conservative movement - far more important than any given personality.
I've also noticed something else of late - liberal leaning polls (on-line push-polls and "registered voters" instead of "likely voters") are headlining that Trump is way ahead of DeSantis. But that is when the pollster gives a long list of candidates. When it is only Trump and DeSantis, DeSantis is right on Trump's heels. It seems like the liberal pollsters are trying to make Trump a forgone conclusion.

She can’t win. Her only chance is that the Republican nominee selects her for the 2024 VP slot, they are elected, then after that, if she is thought of as being a successful VP, maybe!

Nice to see our resident Romneybot Bushie Rovian professional enthusiasts, under waterever name, still feel that her/their collective big government lovin, establishment elitism, ( remember when she didn't believe all this T party stuff was real, because, well, none of those peasants had approached her friends to lead them.
Her orchestra continues to play out of tune.

Her negative view of American history came out when she as a Governor basically endorsed the tearing down of statues of historical American figures, starting a wave of such symbolic destruction throughout the country. The Civil war is history and American Liberty & Justice for ALL was victorious, yet her words & actions stirred strife all over again. No, she is not a peacemaker and her word is not reliable.
