Illinois Democrat Governor J.B. Pritzker signed legislation Tuesday banning the manufacture or possession of dozens of rapid-fire rifles and pistols, .50-caliber guns, and some attachments, which went into effect immediately.
Pritzker signed the “Protect Illinois Communities Act” into law during a ceremony at the State Capitol in Springfield hours after House Democrats secured the final passage less than a day after Senate Democrats approved the measure.
“It’s been quite a past 24 hours,” Pritzker said, according to local media.

And yet, the murder rate in Illinois will continue to climb. Only a fool would blame inanimate objects for shootings. Someone has to load, aim, fire, etc. The gun doesn't do it by itself.

Immediately remove the governors armed guards, as a show of solidarity with the citizens of the state.

And ad nauseam it will take years and hundreds of thousands in legal costs to roll back these unconstitutional statutes. Our country's founders had a quicker and more definitive way to establish their rights against the Crown of England.

Political virtue-signaling. I think they're smart enough to know their proposal will do nothing. But they point to it, and say they Did Something, an action that shows how much They Care. The lapdog media echo and amplify for their own virtue signals.

Much like in the late 1850s, the USA is dividing into slave states and free states. Guess which one is the Peoples' Republic of Illinois?

Colorado may be the next state to ban certain guns. Colorado senate president, Fenberg (D) said, “all options should be on the table, including assault weapons ban.”

Chicago is exempt, however. Not sure how many people were killed or had crimes committed with .50 cal weaponry, but hey, they are scary and on that point need to be banned.

The Supreme Court is going to be busy. We’ll have to file suit in Colorado soon, too. In the meantime, no one will obey these laws.

They want to make it easier for the street thugs to rob and kill you safely. What's wrong with this? Have you no compassion?

Soon we will be getting a court case which will strike down all these gun and magazine bans, I am convinced. There have been several cases which nibbled around the edges, but there are a number of cases pending which, based on the guidance given to the lower courts by SCOTUS in their last major ruling, will require these laws to be struck down.
The wailing and gnashing will be immense when this happens.

#4, I disagree. Build the wall and make them stay at home. Otherwise, their thinking will pollute the sane areas.

Before the Nazis took the gold wedding rings and gold in the teeth of Jews, they took their guns. See how that works.

Regarding Post #8. If you look closely you will find that the majority of leftist Democrats now in Colorado, who would push banning firearms, are not natives of Colorado and moved there from old time liberal Democrat States.

Pritzker takes up 2 seats. Environmentalists should be protesting at his office, and in front of his house.

The unlawful Gov. Pritzker is just forcing firearm owners to have to file suit, which the firearm owners will win, but the Left has bought time until they file their next illegal lawsuit. Any court upholding the 2A would punt these nuisance lawsuits to the rafters, and gone through the vomitorium. I'd say Pritzker should be punted equally high but he's an obese lunker. Hook him instead--through the butt.

Illinois, California New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts are all lost. Conservatives occupying those states can find a welcome home in some very sane, republican-managed states.
In West Virginia, the only firearm-related legislation that was passed in the past two years was to remove state sales tax from the sale of firearms and ammunition.

They'll find that firearms manufacturers (and their lawyers and technical consultants) are far more intelligent and creative than gun grabbing politicians (and theirs).

So the safety of he State in the modern era must still depend upon the blunderbuss, the fire-lock, the muzzle loader, and the cutlasses and pitchforks of the militia.
