Illinois Democrat Governor J.B. Pritzker signed legislation Tuesday banning the manufacture or possession of dozens of rapid-fire rifles and pistols, .50-caliber guns, and some attachments, which went into effect immediately. Pritzker signed the “Protect Illinois Communities Act” into law during a ceremony at the State Capitol in Springfield hours after House Democrats secured the final passage less than a day after Senate Democrats approved the measure. “It’s been quite a past 24 hours,” Pritzker said, according to local media.

And yet, the murder rate in Illinois will continue to climb. Only a fool would blame inanimate objects for shootings. Someone has to load, aim, fire, etc. The gun doesn't do it by itself.

And ad nauseam it will take years and hundreds of thousands in legal costs to roll back these unconstitutional statutes. Our country's founders had a quicker and more definitive way to establish their rights against the Crown of England.

Soon we will be getting a court case which will strike down all these gun and magazine bans, I am convinced. There have been several cases which nibbled around the edges, but there are a number of cases pending which, based on the guidance given to the lower courts by SCOTUS in their last major ruling, will require these laws to be struck down. The wailing and gnashing will be immense when this happens.

The unlawful Gov. Pritzker is just forcing firearm owners to have to file suit, which the firearm owners will win, but the Left has bought time until they file their next illegal lawsuit. Any court upholding the 2A would punt these nuisance lawsuits to the rafters, and gone through the vomitorium. I'd say Pritzker should be punted equally high but he's an obese lunker. Illinois, California New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts are all lost. Conservatives occupying those states can find a welcome home in some very sane, republican-managed states. In West Virginia, the only firearm-related legislation that was passed in the past two years was to remove state sales tax from the sale of firearms and ammunition.

Joe Biden's best two months since becoming president ended on the evening of January 9, when White House lawyers revealed that classified materials from Biden's years as vice president had been stored in his Washington, D.C., office between 2017 and 2019. A few days later, the White House confirmed that additional secret papers had been found inside Biden’s garage in Wilmington, Delaware. On January 12, attorney general Merrick Garland appointed a special counsel to investigate whether Biden broke the law and revealed that another document had been recovered. And the scandal grew. Biden lapsed into legalese. The West Wing built a stonewall in the press room.

I believe most people hope 2023 is a better year than 2022.  But I am not counting on it. In just the past two years, our national government has spent roughly $13 trillion and authorized spending trillions more.  Politicians use words and phrases like "investments," "long-term savings," "reducing inflation," "protecting Ukraine's sovereignty," etc. to justify this.  Clearly, they are either lying or living in a fantasy world.  Most of the money is being used to pay off campaign contributors and special interest groups, such as the climate change lobby, or to make politicians look good. Inflation spiked to nine percent in June 2022, so the Federal Open Market Committee began raising interest rates to fight it.

The only thing that’s surprising is that they hadn’t targeted gas stoves earlier. This week, the Consumer Product Safety Commission Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. said that gas appliances
