ROME, Italy — Pope Francis baptized 13 babies in the Sistine Chapel on Sunday, calling the celebration a “new birthday” into the Christian life.
During his homily at the Mass, the pontiff thanked the parents for bringing their children to be baptized, while urging them to stay especially close to the Virgin Mary.
“Pray also to Our Lady, who is the Mother, who is our Mother,” he declared. “It is said that when someone is angry with the Lord, or has moved away, Our Lady is always close to facilitate his return.”
“The Lord is always close to us, but Our Lady is the mom, and the mom is always closer

Always? Literally always?
No mom has ever murdered her kids or abandoned them or put them through drugs and surgery because she didn't get the 'right' gender kids?
Ok. Right. And phrases like Daddy's girl never existed. Always. Got it.

In the human sense, perhaps. When referring to the Almighty, it is heresy.

The pontiff's pontifications are wrong on so many levels. Does he have ears to hear himself when he speaks? Good grief.

Wow. A return to talking about the faith and theology. Way to go, Francis.
And to those of you who don't get Marian devotion, it's Christ centered. Mary was. And a good example for all of us.

Catholics just commemorated and are reflecting on the life of Ratzinger, Benedict, who was one of the most profound theologians of any era, a constant observer and commentator and defender of Christianity in the post modern era. Thoughtful, humble, meek, deeply spiritual by example.
And then there is this guy.

The pope should read his bible.....there is only one mediator between God and man and that is Christ Jesus. Stop praying to anyone else...it's blasphemous and idolatrous to do so. Read 1 Timothy 2 and Jeremiah and 44!

And there's the problem with much of the Modernists in the post Vatican II Church, based on feelings and one's personal view of human relations. Yes, Mary is our mother and always there for us, wishing to lead us to her Son. And he actually gets it right about the importance of baptism. But for crying out loud, Bergoglio, don't project your own family background and situation to the Almighty. Maybe he has daddy issues --like so many of our limp wristed clergy these days. Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us and the Church!

#9, for the umpteenth time, Catholics DO NOT pray to Mary. We revere her and ask her to pray FOR US!

Since the last real Pope, Benedict, recently passed, the question, "Is the Pope Catholic?", is no longer a joke. As a lifelong Catholic, I'm wondering if the church will survive our present Joe Bidenesque pontiff?

Well, I've always said there are three mothers I don't want to tick off.
Mary, the mother of Jesus, My wife (mother of my child), and a friend of mine (who is a very, very tough lady), not necessarily in that order.
So, maybe Pope Frank is right on this one. But he's still nowhere near the "being correct" average of a broken clock (twice a day).
