Bloomberg Business Week, no foe of green energy, headlines: Wind Turbines Taller Than the Statue of Liberty Are Falling Over.” [snip]
A motorist had reported that one of the huge turbines at a nearby wind farm had collapsed in dramatic fashion.
The steel tower, which once stood hundreds of feet tall, was buckled in half, and the turbine blades, whose rotation took the machine higher than the Statue of Liberty, were splayed across the wheat field below. The turbine, made by General Electric Co., had been in operation less than a year.

We are now three years after the COVID-19 apocalypse began, and the CDC and WHO still refuse to acknowledge that the virus was created in and escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV). But they, along with all our institutions, have lied so often and so egregiously that 72% of the public doesn’t believe them. If nothing else, that is a very positive sign.
The evidence for the lab leak is as overwhelming as the evidence for a zoonotic origin is non-existent. For anyone trained in the art of biology to deny the lab origin betrays either deceit or, worse, willful ignorance.

German authorities want to put a famous Jewish composer and Holocaust survivor into a psychiatric clinic and want to force her to take the COVID injection.
According to the news outlet Report24, Inna Zhvanetskaya, who lives in Stuttgart, Germany, was supposed to be taken to a psychiatric institution for a string of claimed mental illnesses, and forcefully injected with the COVID vaccines on January 11, which she does not want. (Report24 says it has been in personal contact with Zhvanetskaya.) However, according to several reports, she has been transferred to a safe place by sympathetic activists who wanted to prevent her from being detained and vaccinated against her will.

In mid-December, Dr. John Lott, president of the Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC) and a world-recognized expert on guns and crime, testified before a Congressional subcommittee on violence and made some startling revelations. Perhaps one of the most important was that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) covered up the fact that armed citizens use their guns quite frequently to stop active shooter attacks.
According to Lott’s testimony before the U.S. House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security, the FBI grossly underreported the number of times armed citizens had stopped active shooters.

Santa Monica is one of my old stomping grounds from my years in Los Angeles.
So when I heard the place was becoming unliveable
According to Jim Thompson, writing at RedState:
So what is it like in Santa Monica now? It depends on who you ask. If you ask Los Angeles Times reporters reviewing statistics, Santa Monica is a relative garden of Eden. {snip]
There is a group of Santa Monica businesses and residents who [snip] put up a sign that says:
Santa Monica IS NOT safe,” it reads, above a second sign with the words “Crime … depravity … outdoor mental asylum.”

This is one of those stories that you’re certain is from the Babylon Bee, and that is stunning in its implications when it turns out to be the truth. In this case, the truth is that, in accordance with UN and WEF climate recommendations, the city of Oxford (home to the famed university) approved plans mandating that citizens may not drive more than 15 minutes distance from their homes without permission. It’s called the “15 Minute City” and is intended to reduce auto emissions. Mostly, though, it will reduce liberty, which is what climate change madness has always been about.

There is a strange but all too widespread coalition of left-wing anti-war activists and alleged “right-wing” isolationists trying desperately to dimmish any perception that Russia and China are working together against American security. A focus has been the Ukraine invasion, the larger consequences of which they dismiss except to fear that it might lead to regime change in Moscow rather than Kyiv. The most ugly and ridiculous manifestation of this was Tucker Carlson’s disgraceful rant against President Volodymyr Zelensky’s speech to Congress. He embarrassed Fox News and insulted its patriotic audience by trotting out every New Left argument from the anti-Vietnam war era,

We are all Americans. That said, there have been efforts for years to divide us for perceived political reasons. Those who live in the bigger cities often tend to look down their noses to those who don't. We have become a Blue America and a Red America. I personally believe that the colors are reversed, but maybe that's just me. A good representation of red vs. blue can be seen on the 2020 election map by counties.
It has gotten so bad that there are discussions of secession and even civil war, God forbid. It would be difficult to have states against states. The real conflict appears to be larger cities versus the rest of America.

On December 21, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky delivered a speech to the United States Congress, which was well received by most representatives from both parties. Tucker Carlson criticized the speech, and its warm reception, on his nightly show. I find myself in agreement with Carlson on most issues — but we, being conservatives, celebrate the freedom to disagree with one another. And while the able Carlson had valid points to make, his overall spiel on this particular event was Manichean and easily refutable. [snip] how Carlson might respond had he been around for Winston Churchill’s speech to Congress

It is been two years and nine months since the start of the COVID pandemic. In my region of Pennsylvania, the newest milder omicron variants are certainly about, but in greatly reduced numbers compared to last year. There is relatively little morbidity. Nonetheless, we are still forced to mask at the hospital, and once a week, symptomatic or not, because I’m unvaccinated, I am expected to be tested for the virus. Unfortunately, I see no end to this.
Regarding the pandemic, I feel like one does after a dangerous storm passes through your town. You spent time in preparation, boarding the windows and staying indoors.

Mitt Romney’s niece, Ronna McDaniel, cannot be very happy. The current head of the Republican National Committee failed to lead Republicans to a massive victory in a mid-term election that should have been a sure thing, she’s been exposed for presiding over extravagant spending with donor money, and she’s fighting for her seat against Harmeet Dhillon, a lawyer and highly respected defender of conservative interests. McDaniel is in a hole, but she couldn’t resist trying to take a dig at Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA and a Dhillon supporter. Kirk walked away unscathed. McDaniel ended up buried.

Fresh from a court victory granting her the right to examine a random sample of Arizona's ballots from its skeezy midterm election, Kari Lake has managed to notch another advance in her quest to halt the obviously fraudulent election of her Democrat rival, Katie Hobbs.
According to Just The News, citing the results of a public records request from America First Legal Foundation:
Recently disclosed internal communications between top election officials in Arizona's Maricopa County in the immediate aftermath of Election Day reveal that they struggled to reconcile a discrepancy of almost 16,000 in outstanding ballot totals.
Comments:
More FBI intentional lying to Congress. Note that the Crime Prevention Research Center found that there were 30 cases of legally armed civilians stopping mass shootings since Jan 2020, but in that time frame, 17 public shootings of more than four people happened.
This indicates that armed citizens stopped just under 2/3 of all mass shootings. Think about that for a moment. The FBI says 4.4%, the CPRC says 64%. And the FBI is LYING, again.
The critical news is that our PRIMARY defense against mass shootings is actually legally armed citizens, and the media and FBI are covering it up.
