People in the Mexican town of Ciudad Juárez, near the US border, are mourning the deaths of guards killed in Sunday's prison break.
Nineteen people - both guards and prisoners - died when gunmen attacked the prison. Thirty inmates escaped.
Seven more people were killed in a shoot-out on Monday while investigators were hunting the escapees.
Following the incident, Mexican authorities fired the prison director, Alejandro Alvarado Téllez.
The attack is one of the deadliest seen in recent times.

Joe Biden’s press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre always manages to find new ways to embarrass herself. From the very beginning, she’s proven herself to be a lackluster spokesperson. Biden received praise from the media for promoting her to replace Jen Psaki, but that was because Jean-Pierre was a black lesbian rather than for her communication abilities. As such, her first months as White House Press Secretary haven’t gone very well.
She has managed to be even less prepared than Jen Psaki, awkwardly dodging questions and constantly having to refer to her notes. Things were getting so bad that they even brought Pentagon spokesman John Kirby over to babysit her.

How much has America changed? Well, consider moves being made at West Point.
Over the summer, Washington’s Naming Commission — comprised of four civilians and as many retired military vets — came to final conclusions regarding seven different Department of Defense “assets.” In its report, the group recommended a renaming of sites honoring Confederate General Robert E. Lee, along with Generals P.G.T. Beauregard and William Hardee.
And over the holidays, the United States Military Academy at West Point began the process of purging Lee from its hallowed halls.
As relayed by the Daily News, Superintendent Lieutenant General Steve Gilland released a December 26th statement:

This “incident” comes on the heels of a Muslim machete attack on cops in New York City. It’s just another of those mysterious incidents that seem to come in groups.
A man who was armed with a large knife was shot and killed by a Cambridge Police officer Wednesday afternoon. It happened after a foot chase in the area of Chestnut Street, police said.
A Cambridgeport resident called 911 at about 1:15 p.m. to report a man jumped out of an apartment window with what appeared to be a machete. The man was then seen cutting himself with the weapon and broken glass from the window he jumped out of.
When police arrived,

George Soros contributed $128,485,971 to Democrat candidates in the 2022 midterm elections, which no doubt played a considerable role in the outcome. And it isn’t as if we weren’t warned. As far back as 2004, then-Senator Hillary Clinton (D-What The Hell Happened to MY Turn) declared: “We need people like George Soros, who is fearless and willing to step up when it counts.” Soros himself then came to the podium and said: “It is the first time that I feel that I need to stand up and do something, really, uh, imp–, uh, and become really engaged, um, in the electoral process in, in this country.”

A controversial criminal justice reform bill officially took effect on Sunday, with the exception of a key provision put on hold by a court at the last minute, that will make significant changes to how law enforcement handles crimes in the state.
Illinois' Safety, Accountability, Fairness and Equity-Today (SAFE-T) Act took effect on Sunday although a key part of the bill, which eliminates cash bail in the state, was halted when the Illinois Supreme Court issued a stay at the last minute on Saturday evening in order to "maintain consistent pretrial procedures throughout Illinois."
The bill’s other provisions that took effect Sunday, like limiting when defendants can be deemed flight risks,

NEW YORK - Sam Bankman-Fried pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to criminal charges that he cheated investors in his now-bankrupt FTX cryptocurrency exchange and caused billions of dollars in losses, in what prosecutors have called an "epic" fraud.
He entered his plea in Manhattan federal court where he faces eight criminal counts, including wire fraud and money laundering conspiracy. The 30-year-old ex-mogul is accused of looting FTX customers' deposits to support his Alameda Research hedge fund, buy real estate and donate millions of dollars to political causes. "Customer funds were also used and laundered through political donations, charitable donations and a variety of venture investments," Danielle Sassoon, a federal prosecutor,

When the norms are falling apart, the future lies with the extremes. To know what’s going to be normalized, look to what words, ideas and memes are being spread through the fringes.
It seems inconceivable pedophilia could be normalized, but show Admiral Rachel Levine to anyone in 1992 or even 2002 and gauge their reaction. For that matter even our 2012 selves would think it was an SNL skit.
So take this seriously because pedophilia is being normalized using the same infrastructure of nonprofits, “experts” and misleading claims that slice the onion by starting small and claiming to want small concessions.
Police Scotland has used the term “minor-attracted people” to describe paedophiles

Ray Epps is the fellow who was caught on video multiple times telling pro-Trump protesters that they were going to have to storm the Capitol. Yet despite this clear evidence that he was a singular ringleader and instigator of what Democrats insist was an “insurrection” that threatened the very survival of our free republic, Epps has never been charged with insurrection or anything else, or even been arrested. Meanwhile, people who never told anyone to storm the Capitol have languished in prison without trial for nearly two years now, in shocking conditions. All this has given rise to the widespread and lingering suspicion that Ray Epps is a fed,

You probably don’t need me or anyone else to tell you that 2022 was a brutal year for your stock portfolio. If you were planning to retire in 2023, you may want to put it off, as it may be a while before your retirement fund recovers. It turns out that 2022 was the worst year for the stock market since 2008. You remember the financial collapse in 2008, right?
In 2022, the S&P 500 lost 19.44%, the DOW lost 8.78%, and the NASDAQ lost 33.10%.

Don’t count on seeing electric garbage trucks plowing snow from city streets any time soon.
The city Department of Sanitation's goals to become carbon neutral are clashing with the limits of electric-powered vehicles.
The department aims to switch all 6,000 vehicles in its fleet from gas to electric as part of the state’s goal to reduce emissions by 2040. But city officials say they haven’t found electric garbage trucks that are powerful enough to plow snow.
The department has ordered seven electric rear loader garbage trucks, custom-made by Mack and costing more than $523,000 each, with delivery slated for the spring. Used for curbside trash collection, the department’s current rear loader

CNN is reporting that the suspect in the Idaho quadruple homicide, Bryan Kohberger, was pounced on by police after unknown DNA at the scene of the crimes was matched to one of his relatives on a site popular with the public for tracing ancestry. CNN did not name its source for this information and is the only news outlet reporting this development. Moscow police have warned against taking information from any source other than official channels due to the massive amounts of misinformation that have been circulating since the murders happened.
If, however, CNN’s source is correct, it could explain why the FBI was tailing Kohberger for four days before an
