Former Vice President Mike Pence told Breitbart News that GOP candidates focused on the future and solving the problems voters face today “did quite well” in the midterm election. He also said he and his family will give “prayerful consideration” over the holidays to whether he intends to run for president in 2024.
Pence, who is promoting his new book So Help Me God, started by congratulating Republicans on retaking the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. “A win is a win. I was in Congress the last time that we defeated a Democrat majority led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the day that Pelosi hands

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy's pledge to block Democratic Reps. Eric Swalwell, Adam Schiff and "Squad" member Ilhan Omar from committees next Congress drew a strong response from the lawmakers. Omar, a Minnesota Democrat who has been accused of making antisemitic statements, claimed that McCarthy's pledge was just another example of her being targeted by Republicans.
"From the moment I was elected, the Republican Party has made it their mission to use fear, xenophobia, Islamophobia and racism to target me on the House floor and through millions of dollars of campaign ads," said Omar. "McCarthy’s effort to repeatedly single me out for scorn and hatred

Did the United States suddenly become a socialist basket case? It’s hard not to come to that conclusion after reading about the endless shortages plaguing the nation. Each of which President Joe Biden either seems clueless to resolve or determined to make worse.
Let’s start with the biggest one: the shortage of diesel fuel. While Biden was busy draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to tamp down gas prices before the midterm elections, the real worry was that supplies of diesel fuel have been running short.
Two years after the short-lived COVID lockdowns ended, diesel inventories continued to trend downward

Good, bad, or indifferent, Trump is running again for president. (snip) Now that Trump has made his intentions known for 2024, some are saying that the age of Trump is over.
They’re just not that into him.
Evangelical figures who previously supported Donald Trump are backing off now that he’s announced his third bid for the presidency.
“Donald Trump can’t save America,” Mike Evans told The Washington Post. “He can’t even save himself.”

“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin said Monday that Jesus Christ would be the “grand marshal” of a pride parade.
The panel lambasted LGBTQ hatred following a shooting at an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado that left at least five dead and 25 others injured. Co-host Sara Haines argued individuals “weaponize” their religion to score political points, leading Hostin, a self-described Catholic, to claim that Jesus would lead the annual pride parade.
“I don’t know that they hide behind religion because I said this on this show once before, Jesus would be the grand marshal at the pride parade,” Hostin said. “I really mean that.”

Inflation might be turning Americans into grinches this holiday season, new data suggests.
In a survey of 1,000 consumers and 165 restaurant owners and operators across the US this month, just 43% of consumers are now tipping their servers 20% or more, a significant decline from 56% of customers last year. That’s according to a recent survey from restaurant technology company Popmenu, first reported by MarketWatch.

Voters and Republican operatives alike are labeling former President Trump the biggest loser of the midterms, raising questions about his strength heading into 2024.
In a Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey released exclusively to The Hill on Monday, 20 percent of voters said Trump was the clear loser after the Nov. 8 elections, while 14 percent said “MAGA Republicans” were and 12 percent pointed to mainstream Republicans. Additionally, 15 percent said Democrats were the biggest losers, while 23 percent said they were unsure or didn’t know.
The findings come after a number of Trump’s endorsed candidates lost up and down the ballot earlier this month, fueling speculation that his grip

Vote Latino President María Teresa Kumar argued on Saturday that gerrymandering was a factor in Gov. Ron DeSantis’ re-election, despite his race being a statewide office. Kumar appeared as a guest host on MSNBC’s "Velshi," where a panel discussed former President Trump’s effect on the Republican Party. The discussion soon focused on DeSantis as a kind of successor to "Trumpism" for his rise in popularity
However, Kumar claimed that his success, even in the state of Florida, is due not to DeSantis’ record as governor, but because he "gerrymandered" the state.

Mannequins used to practice life-saving CPR aren't diverse enough, doctors have claimed.
Researchers want to ditch the reliance on default 'lean white male' models.
Doing so will help overcome 'bias' among bystanders and help improve the survival of other groups, they say.
This, the team claim, would be done by 'changing the perception of sudden cardiac death' — meaning people recognise it doesn't just happen to white men.
Academics from Canada and Argentina found fewer than 10 per cent of mannequins used to promote CPR on social media represented black or Asian people.
None were of pregnant women and barely any were of fat people, according to the study.

It’s going to be King Kong vs. Godzilla and, while a few pipsqueak Rodan's might be flapping around (Hi Mike Pence), this bout is the battle royale. The 2024 primary will be Donald Trump v. Ron DeSantis. Everyone else is barely relevant – can you feel the Larry Hoganmania?
Not unless you are Larry Hogan or one of the 1% of Republicans eager to set fire to stacks of Never Trump donor dollars.
Back in June, I wrote, “The Case For Donald Trump 2024” (I followed that up with “The Case Against Donald Trump,” just as this Thursday I will offer “The Case Against Ron DeSantis”).

Former Vice President Mike Pence now claims Donald Trump’s “reckless” words on January 6, 2021 “endangered” Pence and his family. Some observers found Pence’s words surprising, but this is not a new trajectory for the Indiana Republican, an outspoken Christian. Back in August, Pence proclaimed “these attacks on the FBI must stop,” but the words of the former vice president should not be interpreted literally. Nobody is “attacking” the J. Edgar Hoover Building in the style of Antifa rioters in 2020....

Is there any point in voting if we can’t trust the system -- or whether the liberty-denier Democrats will abide by the rule of law or basic decency? (snip) That terrible sick-in-your-stomach sensation when scam artists laugh and you realize they’ve done it again? When all of our hopes for the conservation of liberty have been destroyed by the same type of schemes that we all should have seen coming a mile away?
How does a party trying to destroy our constitutional republic for two years with poll after poll screaming that we are on the wrong track avoid a humiliating defeat at the ballot box?
