I have never considered that my patronage of a business, or the lack thereof, would make or break the enterprise. So, I find it amusing that D-list celebrities believe their threats to leave Twitter could make any difference when it comes to the company’s bottom line.
This week, stars who haven’t been relevant in years, such as Toni Braxton and Sara Bareilles, announced that they would leave Twitter in the wake of its purchase by SpaceX founder Elon Musk. Braxton, who last had a Billboard 100 hit in the 1990s, said she was leaving because she saw “hate speech” on the platform since the acquisition late last week. Bareilles, who I

Most people are unaware that in this senate election cycle New York Senator and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is up for reelection. National media have ignored mentioning the Schumer -vs- Pinion race. Few people, even those in New York, realize that Chuck Schumer is on the ballot next week.
Republican candidates in New York are surging and there is a potential, slight though it might be, for Schumer to be defeated in his race. If every New York state voter that supports Republican gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin also votes for New York Senate Republican candidate Joe Pinion, there is a path for Schumer to be removed from

N8 Ag (Nate Silver) of 538's refusal to concede that Democrats had no chance of keeping the House in the midterm elections puzzled me. Come on. Republicans just need to take 5 measly seats.
But N8 opened his forecast season on June 1 by saying Democrats had a 14% chance of keeping the House. He refused to lower it to the <1% chance that history and Biden's miserable approval ratings dictated.(snip)N8 is merely following the Democrat Narrative which says abortion turned white suburban moms against Republicans and passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (the Green New Deal) will gin up Democrat enthusiasm next week.
Every media outlet including Fox promoted this nonsensical

Next week, the Supreme Court will have a chance to save the free market economy from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Even as the court reins in the administrative state, the FTC is advancing new rules and novel theories that stretch the limits of its mandate. Under its progressive chair, Lina Khan, the FTC wants to cancel the gig economy, cripple the ad-supported internet, and address racial justice, rather than simply protect consumers.
In Axon Enterprise v. FTC, the court could take a big step toward cabining the FTC within its statutory and constitutional authority. Axon itself involves a narrow procedural question of whether someone can raise certain constitutional challenges to

Apparently, the San Francisco home of Paul and Nancy Pelosi has real time CCTV security remotely monitored by the Capitol Hill Police.
However, as the story is told, during the attack on Paul Pelosi, no one was watching the CCTV monitors. But it does appear there is a recording.(snip)According to sources, an officer was monitoring the feeds and saw police lights on a dark street outside the Pelosi’s residence. When going through surveillance footage, the officer saw the alleged attack on Oct. 28, when DePape allegedly struck Paul Pelosi, people briefed on the incident said, according to the report. Pro-impeachment Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) vowed to enable the Democrats’ agenda in her final pitch to Alaskan voters.
“Here’s my commitment to you. I will work with anyone from either party to advance Alaska’s priorities, and I will always stand up to any politician or special interest that threatens our way of life,” she said in the ad released Tuesday. “I’m Lisa Murkowski, and I approve this message. I’d be honored to earn your vote.”
It is not the first time Murkowski pledged to help the Biden administration further its agenda. She stated in September she would help the Biden administration because they are in office.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Nov. 1 blocked Congress from obtaining former President Donald Trump’s tax returns.
Chief Justice John Roberts, a George W. Bush appointee, stayed an appeals court order that had ruled a congressional panel could gain access to the documents.
Trump filed an emergency application on Monday to the Supreme Court, asking it to halt the order.
Roberts’ stay is temporary, pending further developments in the case.
Rep. Richard Neal (D-Mass.), chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means, has for years been trying to obtain Trump’s returns, asserting that they are necessary as the panel considers possibly updating how audits of presidents are done.

regret to inform the meme makers, the narrative builders, and all those involved in the herculean effort to make Paul Pelosi’s attack suspect into a stand-in for the right-wing boogeyman, the after-party has been canceled.
The pathetic human known as David DePape was, until recently, a public backer of Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ causes. At least, that’s what we can surmise by surveying his “home” in Berkeley. DePape had a “Black Lives Matter” sign in the window and an LGBTQ rainbow flag, emblazoned with a marijuana symbol, hanging from a tree outside his house.
Author Michael Schellenberger describes the scene outside DePape’s residence and took a dive into his social media

The man who allegedly attacked the husband of U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was charged Oct. 31 with assault and attempted kidnapping.
David DePape, 42, was charged with assaulting Paul Pelosi, 82 and attempting to kidnap Nancy Pelosi, 82.(snip)A witness told officers that he saw a person wearing all black and carrying a large black bag walking near the Pelosi residence. Paul Pelosi, meanwhile, said that he was asleep when DePape entered the bedroom and said he wanted to talk to Nancy Pelosi. DePape said that he would wait, even after Paul Pelosi said his wife would not be home for several days.

A dozen years ago, Democrats faced a dilemma. A long-term care entitlement known as the CLASS Act that they added to what became Obamacare faced serious solvency concerns. But after Scott Brown, R-Mass., won a shock Senate victory for Republicans in a January 2010 special election, ending Democrats’ filibuster-proof majority, Democrats didn’t have the votes to alter the CLASS Act or remove it from Obamacare.
What did Democrats do? The Obama administration suppressed the internal documents showing that the CLASS Act wouldn’t work. (I and Republican staff colleagues later obtained these documents, compiling them into a report.)
Democrats also convinced many in the disability industry to support Obamacare,

Before getting to the latest revelation/evidence which affirms CTH research for multiple years, let me just remind everyone of the commonsense aspect. If the Dept of Homeland Security (DHS) was actually doing what I have long said it appeared they were doing, then…
…The databases of the identified social media platforms appear to be integrated with the U.S. intelligence system. This relationship makes the U.S government a stakeholder in the financial sustainability of the enterprise(s). Thus, a collaborative effort to financially subsidize the underlying data processing fits the mutual benefit scenario. ~ Sundance
