WASHINGTON — The House committee investigating the Capitol riot won’t give Donald Trump the chance to turn a possible live TV appearance of his subpoenaed testimony into a “circus” and “food fight” as lawmakers try to ensure he complies with their demands, the panel’s vice chair said Sunday.
The committee is demanding Trump’s testimony under oath next month as well as records relevant to its investigation. To avoid a complicated and protracted legal battle, Trump reportedly had told associates he might consider complying with the subpoena if he could answer questions during live testimony.
When asked if the committee would consider taking his testimony live,

A week ago, Colorado senate republican candidate Joe O’Dea said on CNN, “I don’t think Donald Trump should run again.” He quickly added, ” I’m going to actively campaign against Donald Trump and make sure that we have got four or five really great Republicans right now; Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley and Tim Scott.”
President Trump blasted O’Dea the following day. Today, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis picked Joe O’Dea as his only 2022 endorsed senate candidate, recording a robocall for O’Dea that says, “Hello this is Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. America needs strong leadership and desperately. That’s why I’m endorsing Joe O’Dea for U.S. Senate. Colorado, please vote for Joe O’Dea.”

As of Friday, it will be illegal to buy, sell, or transfer handguns in the country of Canada.
According to the announcement by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, “people cannot buy, sell, or transfer handguns within Canada, nor can they bring newly acquired handguns into the country.”
“With handgun violence increasing across Canada, it is our duty to take urgent action to remove these deadly weapons from our communities,” Trudeau said in the statement. There are approximately 1.1 million handguns already in Canada, meaning Mr. Trudeau’s desire to “remove these deadly weapons from our communities” means the Mounties are going to be very busy grabbing guns.

Presidential candidate Joe Biden has a pattern of questionable behavior toward women. His reputation is so robust, the incidents so well-documented that they have earned him the longtime nickname of “Uncle Joe” (for his penchant for using folksy, grandfatherly language even with his peers), with the occasional addition of “Creepy” (for routinely invading women’s personal spaces).
How much does behavior like this really matter to voters? We wanted to find out. U.K.-based market research and data analytics firm YouGov conducted an official online poll of over 1,200 people, weighted to represent U.S. adults

Kamala Harris has just scored a hat trick of buffoonery. While we are accustomed to her embarrassing herself virtually every time speaks extemporaneously, her verbal tomfoolery may be keeping pace with the accelerating dementia of her boss, Joe Biden.
We’ll start with an outright lie, committed during an interview with Esme Murphy of WCCO-TV in Minneapolis. (snip)The Vice President of the United States called claims that she supported the Minnesota Freedom Fund, established to bail out rioters arrested during the first round of arson and looting following the death in police custody of career criminal George Floyd "misinformation": [video] This is an easily proven lie: [tweet]

The Republican tsunami seems to be moving into every part of the country – from Oregon and Washington State to Rhode Island. This is what happens when big wave elections occur. They permeate everywhere. Races that seem hopeless suddenly become hopeful. Races that seem hopeful suddenly become clearly winnable.
I watched Democrat tsunamis in 1958, 1974, and 2006. I also saw Republican tsunamis in 1980, 1994, and 2010. There are regular patterns which begin building after Labor Day. As people start thinking about voting, their calculations change. This year is no different

America has only 25 days of diesel supply thanks to Joe Biden’s economic crippling policies. A diesel fuel crisis will cripple the US.
PJ Media shared the news over the weekend. The fuel that is used to transport US goods across the country is in a crisis situation:
Oil prices and President Joe Biden’s continued draining of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) have dominated the headlines over the past few weeks, but analysts say a more impactful and serious crisis on the energy front looms: a diesel fuel shortage.

This year, Hollywood and the news media took a knee for Sacheen Littlefeather.
Woke news outlets including NPR, the New York Times, and Variety ran glowing articles identifying her as a Native American who was unjustly ridiculed and shunned by the industry when she infamously rejected Marlon Brando’s Oscar for The Godfather in 1973. It culminated in August when the Academy publicly apologized to her. There was just one problem. According to her biological sisters, Sacheen Littlefeather, who died earlier this month at 75, wasn’t Native American. Her family has no Indian ancestry they could find. Nor did she grow up with a violent and abusive father

A few days back it was reported that a GOP super PAC aligned with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Kentucky) would withdraw a significant $5.6 million reserved for TV ads from New Hampshire’s Senate race. (snip) Where is McConnell spending his funds?
Why of course in Alaska on Sen. Lisa Murkowski who running against Trump-endorsed GOP challenger Kelly Tshibaka.
McConnell's PAC is spending about $9 million on Murkowski. (snip) In August, McConnell’s PAC reduced its advertising budget for the Senate candidate Blake Masters in Arizona by around $8 million (snip) all donors aspiring to help the MAGA movement, must surgically donate to specific Senate campaigns rather than just the GOP.

In January of 2021, The New York Times promoted a book titled How To Blow Up a Pipeline by transparently radical author Andreas Malm. On Thursday, the Times directly promoted Malm by publishing his guest essay under the headline "History May Absolve the Soup Throwers." That's too tender a headline, for Malm thinks soup throwing at a Van Gogh painting isn't optimal: "I tend to think sabotage is most effective when it is precise and gritty. When activists from the same group smashed gas stations in April this year, they hit the nail on the head. Gasoline, unlike a van Gogh painting, is a fuel of global warming.

Washington — Plastic recycling rates are declining even as production shoots up, according to a Greenpeace USA report out Monday that blasted industry claims of creating an efficient, circular economy as "fiction." Titled "Circular Claims Fall Flat Again," the study found that of 51 million tons of plastic waste generated by U.S. households in 2021, only 2.4 million tons were recycled, or around five percent. After peaking in 2014 at 10 percent, the trend has been decreasing, especially since China stopped accepting the West's plastic waste in 2018. Virgin production — of non-recycled plastic, that is — meanwhile is rapidly rising as the

One of the core strengths of the late, great, sorely missed, Rush Limbaugh was his ability and willingness to constantly reground his listeners concerning basic truths. We tend to forget basics in the heat of political battle, usually to the detriment of conservative causes and candidates.
An excellent current example of this has to do with polling. I cannot believe how many conservative pundits, radio/podcast hosts and writers react to polls early in the season with dismay or even panic. “Beto is within three points of Abbot!” “Fetterman up seven over Oz? How can that be?” The answer is: you’re right, it can't be. It isn't true.
