Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) wanted regulatory reform, in part to reverse some of the Biden Administration reversals of Trump era reforms intended to expedite permits for fossil fuel projects.
Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) needed Manchin’s vote in the 50-50 Senate to enact his latest spending extravaganza, the Inflation Reduction Act, which was primarily a massive climate and “green” energy subsidy arrangement. It gives Schumer allies some $370 billion in wind, solar, battery and other funding, tax credits and subsidies. In exchange, Schumer would offer a path for Manchin’s reform bill.

Driessen really sorts it all out. The reality of this Green agenda is that it will unleash untold nightmares that the left refuses to acknowlege and discuss. More short-sightednes of Joe Biden and the climate fools. I am all for preserving our earth but this is not the way IMOHO. They won't admit it will still take coal and oil to mine and make all the unreliable crap they want to force on us. Getting rid of Biden, Schumer and dimwit Nancy can't come soon enough.

Manchin was used and abused. He’s broken now. He’ll be a good little democrat like all the other dem congresspeople, obediently obeying Schumer and Pelosi, their overlords. Pathetic.

"It’s time to short-circuit this electricity nightmare, by asking these questions, DEMANDING ANSWERS, and ending the notion that governments can simply issue edicts and compel reality to change in response."
While answers are good, we really already KNOW what that the answers are that "Green energy" solutions are unicorn dreams. The few OBVIOUS details pointed out in this article and already KNOWN by anyone that has given any thought to the issue PROVES that a complete "Green energy" solution CAN NOT succeed. In fact, even at the small scale to which we have implemented it, it is already failing. It is HIGHLY subsidized and experimental. MASSIVE costs would follow a green buildout. Then MASSIVE failures with NO backup plan because none are provided for and backups would only add to the huge costs.
Solar and wind MAY be effective in some cherry picked locations and circumstances. The FIRST THING we should do is to STOP subsidizing the build of these experiments to face the TRUE FULL COST of building "Green". Then we can make an informed decisions as to whether it is worth it to continue in the right circumstances.
To do all this, we FIRST need to vote in Republicans. We need leadership on this issue in the Republican party toward realistic and effective energy policies. Because of the party system, it really doesn't matter too much about individual legislator's beliefs. Dems will NEVER produce a practical energy policy. In fact, they are in unicorn energy dreams.
Only Republicans have a chance to evolve good energy policies. We need a good leadership group in this area. We need MORE than just a focus on energy independence through oil and gas, although that is an OBVIOUS short term goal. We need to ANSWER the dem idiocy and PROVE they are fools. Then we need practical solutions, including modern nuclear power. Such solutions are many decades out but we need to get on a successful path not the "Green energy" fools pursuit.

Manchin is not only a fraud and a liar, he's not very bright as well. I could "offer you a path" across the Serengeti but that doesn't mean you are going to get across without being eaten.

None of the so called " green energy " is meant to work. It's reason for being is to make friends of friends wealthy and enslave the rest of us. Conversations/arguments back and forth are meaningless , they cloud the truth about this scam. And it is a scam. Look at Sri Lanka and The Netherlands. The people there have lived the truth. Gas, oil, nuclear are available, cheap and dependable. The provide everything the globalists are against...........freedom and successful economies that are not government dependent.

"It gives Schumer allies some $370 billion in wind, solar, battery and other funding, tax credits and subsidies."
And so now they have that money.
And you don't.
They will spend that money on Planet Wrecking Green Schemes,
that you know, and I know, and they know won't work.
And when, not if, the schemes fail, they will return for more money.
And they will get it.
And your needs won't.
It's not about solving the problems they invent to get the money.
It's always and only about getting the money.
Always.

Apologies to all, my reply at #4 was meant for the story about the inspiration for Large Marge, Stacy Abrams. Sorry!
For this story, I do feel Manchin got hoodwinked, a three-card monte deal from Schumer, an expert at the craft.

Do you know what would go a long way in preserving our environment? Get every green zealot out of any political position of power. They are heretics worshipping at the altar of Mother Nature who refuse to listen to truth. When you refuse to even consider another viewpoint you are someone who cannot be reasoned with. They have shut down debate fully and expect everyone to go along because they say so. Well, that does not work for the majority of people especially Americans. I welcome debate. Let’s have the mother of all debates and find out exactly what is truth and what is wishful thinking. No country can be held hostage by a bunch of environmental zealots and succeed. I long for the day when science actually meant seeking the truth through provable facts, data and research.

The most dangerous word in the English language is used by Shummer every time he gets in front of a TV camera. Bipartisan! Does not include anyone but straying Democrats.

There should be commercials, billboards, etc all over and on social media (if allowed - ha!) explaining how "green" energy isn't good for the environment: the mining of minerals, the dead birds and bats, etc. uglification of our landscapes, the non-recyclable blades, etc. as spelled out in this article. Forget the "all of the ab Gove approach to energy. We know what is clean, plentiful, and works.

You don't have to look hard to hear the lies for the green hoax. Question Kerry, Gore, AOC and other purveyors of the movement to explain what they are doing. The 'not in my backyard' crowd like the Kennedys or Obamas while ruining our landscape like in our southwest state with ugly windmills and solar farms. $370 billion up front maybe $1 billion on the backside after it's skimmed off for personal use by democrats. It's all a lie and dreaming of unicorns that never exist.
