California Decriminalizes Jaywalking Due
to Alleged Racial Bias

Original Article

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) signed a law Friday that will decriminalize jaywalking across California, ending the familiar practice of police handing out tickets to pedestrians on the argument that the law is enforced more often against minorities than other people. The new law, AB 2147, known as the “Freedom to Walk Act,” could bring an end to a cultural difference that has marked otherwise libertine Californians as being uniquely deferential to laws governing pedestrian traffic. The difference between Californians, who ostensibly tend to obey “don’t walk” signals, and urban dwellers elsewhere in the country, who are notoriously defiant when it comes to crossing against traffic signals, was lampooned

Comments:

It's racist to expect minorities to follow rules made by White people.

The statistics show without a doubt that "minorities" are also the ones who are most likely to be injured while walking. It seems they seldom cross at the intersection. They also lack sufficient self-awareness to observe an approaching vehicle. Of course, they also live among others like themselves, who, when behind the wheel, exhibit the same degree of inattentiveness, lack of self-awareness and unwillingness to conform to societal and legal norms, like obeying traffic laws and rules of the road. So, in a way, this is ackshually racist inasmuch as more "minorities" will wind up dead and maimed as a result. Yay Governor Newsom!

It goes hand-in-hand with legal shoplifting. You can't be expected to carry an armload of heavy merchandise all the way up to the crosswalk at the corner. Use your head. When everybody converts to EVs out there, the jaywalkers will not be able to hear the cars coming... Hmmmmmmm - Splat!
