On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher quipped that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) sent the message to migrants “if you come here, you will get a free plane ride to a wealthy island.” And that the trip the migrants took sounds like the cruise he got his parents. Maher also jabbed President Joe Biden for accusing Republicans of using people as props by stating that when Biden said that, “all the Marines lined up behind him agreed.”
Maher said, “And then you saw the governors of Texas and Florida are sending their migrants to blue states. DeSantis in Florida sent all these Venezuelan migrants…to Martha’s Vineyard?

It’s no surprise that Ron DeSantis has become the Democrats’ bête noire. He is just so much better than they are on both policy and politics, and that makes him dangerous to their ability to continue destroying America.
So we have now reached the “Ron DeSantis is a Nazi” phase of demonization. It’s actually kind of glorious to see, because this tactic only works to gin up their communist base while simultaneous waking people up to a genuine crisis at the border. Few normal people believe DeSantis is really evil, which is why Florida has become a magnet for disaffected Americans who want to move

Washington - The Department of Justice is asking a federal appeals court to temporarily block a Trump-appointed judge’s ruling that prevents it from accessing hundreds of pages of classified records seized amid the thousands of pages of government documents taken from the former president’s Mar-a-Lago home.
“The district court has entered an unprecedented order enjoining the Executive Branch’s use of its own highly classified records in a criminal investigation with direct implications for national security,” the Justice Department wrote in its motion Friday. The Justice Department had previously argued that any delay in its investigation into Donald Trump's handling and retention of government records, including classified records,

A Texas law that bans social media companies from censoring users’ viewpoints is constitutionally allowed, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Friday, in a blow to Facebook, Twitter and Google.
The ruling is a win for Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in their efforts to combat what they call censorship of conservative viewpoints by social media companies. The law, H.B. 20, had previously been blocked from taking effect by a May 5-4 Supreme Court ruling, which had granted an emergency request by tech trade groups NetChoice and the Computer and Communications Industry Association, which represent Facebook, Twitter and Google. The trade groups have alleged

Massachusetts governor Charlie Baker said Friday he is deploying up to 125 National Guard members in response to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis sending a group of just 50 illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard.
“Our Administration has been working across state government to develop a plan to ensure these individuals will have access to the services they need going forward, and Joint Base Cape Cod is well equipped to serve these needs,” the governor said.
The national guardsmen will meet the immigrants at Joint Base Cape Cod on the mainland. Buses retrieved the group of Venezuelans from St. Andrews church in Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard Friday morning, roughly 24 hours after they arrived

As RedState reported, Judge Aileen Cannon delivered a body blow to the Department of Justice, denying their request for a stay and appointing a special master in the case surrounding the FBI’s raid on Donald Trump. The DOJ had sought to exclude documents they deemed classified and to bring in a ringer who served as special master in the Michael Cohen and Project Veritas cases. Instead, all the documents will be reviewed by U.S. District Judge Raymond Dearie. That name caused some consternation because he is the same judge that signed off on the Carter Page warrant. But a judge can only work with what he has,

Mortgage rates when President Joe Biden took office? 2.65 percent. Today? 6.28 percent.
On Tuesday, Biden held a weird celebration of his “Inflation Reduction Act” on the lawn of the White House. Why was it weird? Because at the very same time as Democrats were applauding themselves, the U.S. Labor Department was releasing figures that showed an “unexpected” rise in inflation, with the cost of rent, food, and other basic necessities continuing to skyrocket. Now we learn that mortgage rates have climbed above six percent for the first time since 2008. Wonder what kind of party Biden has planned for this milestone?

The strategy of Greg Abbott and others to send illegal aliens to sanctuary cities around the country was a stroke of genius. Not that it was original: for at least the last five or six years, a friend has been emailing me to the effect that illegals should be sent to Marin County, Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco mansion, and, above all, Martha’s Vineyard. That, he said, would bring the open border problem to a screeching halt.
And it may. Ron DeSantis’s master stroke of sending two planeloads of aliens to Martha’s Vineyard has made liberal heads explode. The irony is evident to everyone. These places are “sanctuaries” for illegal aliens,

Another day, another Ron DeSantis hit piece in a major newspaper. “Is Ron DeSantis the Future of the Republican Party?” by New York Times reporter Matt Flegenheimer is set to appear in the September 18 Sunday Magazine, posing the question: Will Florida’s governor throw his hat in the ring for president, even if Donald Trump runs as well?
After some preamble, Flegenheimer sets the scene for his long analysis, in which DeSantis comes off perversely well, despite the reporter's attempt to paint him as a right-wing strongman.
….He has for years merrily shunned the perspectives of moderating influences and gentle dissenters and found himself validated at every turn, his recent history a whir

Whom does President Biden consider a “MAGA Republican?” In his Sept. 1 prime-time address from Philadelphia, the president claimed he was not tarring the entire GOP — or even the majority of Republicans — as followers of “extreme MAGA ideology.” He was attacking only “election deniers” who “do not believe in the rule of law” and refuse to “recognize the will of the people.”
If he had limited his critique to those who refuse to accept legitimate election results — including Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-Miss.), chairman of the House Jan. 6 committee, who voted on Jan. 6, 2005, in objection to the counting of Ohio’s electoral votes, and Stacey Abrams,

Thinking unapproved thoughts is a violent activity. Saying those thoughts out loud is terrorism, and as we all know terrorists have to be hunted down.
Break out the drones!
It’s not quite that bad in the US…yet. But the Left is working very very hard to get there. President Biden has already mused that the US government has F-15s ready to go should they be needed to suppress the MAGA crowd. They have even invented a term for people who think and talk like you and me: stochastic terrorists.
A quick search on Google for the term “stochastic terrorism” (the neologism being used to describe the violence of unapproved speech)

A federal judge on Thursday denied the Justice Department’s (DOJ) motion to access the classified records stored at Mar-a-Lago and installed a recently retired judge to serve as the special master former President Trump requested.
The duo of orders from federal district Judge Aileen Cannon will ignite a Justice Department appeal to the 11th Circuit and also taps Judge Raymond Dearie to serve as the special master — the one candidate both the DOJ and Trump’s legal team could agree on. The order requires Dearie to complete his review by Nov. 30 — a slightly shorter deadline than the 90-day window Trump requested, but one that punts
