Rome—Pope Francis urged Westerners to be more open to immigration Thursday, insisting that it is a necessary antidote to the West’s “demographic winter.” In forgetting how to welcome migrants, the West lost much, because it “needs people,” the pontiff told reporters during his return flight from Kazakhstan to Rome. Especially considering the “demographic winter,” which is so evident in Spain and Italy. “In Italy there are empty villages with just twenty old ladies and nothing else,” he said. “Why can’t we make a policy in the West where immigrants are included with the principle that the migrant should be welcomed, accompanied, promoted, and integrated?” he asked.

Hey, Cheech - - how many immigrants do you have living within the massive walls of your independent state?
None? Yeah - - that's what I thought.

The Church has produced some terrible Popes in the past, but this guy is maybe the worst. He is supposed to be the Vicar of Christ, but he seems to want to be a social justice warrior more than anything else. The Church has plenty of problems that he needs to be addressing...declining membership, homosexual priests, etc. I am stunned at how illogical and stupid his statement is....the gaslighting Pope.

Is that how it works when you increase your population with people who not only can't speak the main language of your country, but they can't even read or write the language they were born into? Those are the least harmful, the worst are the criminals, terrorists and insane. The rest are willful criminals whose first act is to break the law when trespassing here before they work the system and commit more crimes.

Francis, are Catholicism and Christianity worth preserving? Is your Argentinian culture worth preserving? How about that of any nation, ethnicity, race or religion? Because the bottom line issue is exactly that - cultural preservation. Consider those resident as "indigenous" and those coming as "threats" to that culture becasue they will disrupt those norms. Now, what? It's not just occupation of territory.

But the illegals are not lining up to go to Italian villages Mr. Pope. They are lining up to go to America. I'm now going to include you and the clergy in general along with politicians. You don't, and as an adult never had to live among the rest of us, go to work like the rest of us, and concern yourselves with healthcare and retirement like the rest of us. If you had, you would understand that people, particularly Americans being overrun with people having nothing to add to our well being, are extremely worried about dealing with our taxes going to everything for these people because a racist black man who used to reside in our White House is pushing the current mentally and physically challenged man in our White House to bring the United States of America to its knees.

True in as much as immigrants are smart enough to know that they can take advantage of the stupid people in the West who allow this to happen.
It’s a great windfall for the Catholic Church in the USA as it greatly increases their contribution pool.

“Integrated” is the key word in this statement. Europe has plenty of experience welcoming immigrants, but most often these immigrants prefer to recreate their homelands rather than integrate into western culture.

It wasn't that long ago that Pope Bergoglio suggested that people stop
"breeding like rabbits". The Pope should be more concerned with saving souls than he is with some country's demographics.

This insular little guy, barricaded in the Vatican, doesn’t know the difference between legal immigration and the kind of illiterates and criminals who are flooding into the “West”. How about raising the intelledtual of the Vatican?

Migrants are coming from countries that need as much "intellectual value" as they can get. If the people coming to the US have so much to offer to us here in the US, it makes no sense to deprive their home countries of their contributions, where the needs are so much greater. Better to send them home so they can help create a better life for their fellow citizens in their home countries.

I am willing to bet that he has no idea how the EU came into being much less who was instrumental in creating it. "the values of the founding fathers who founded the European Union, the great ones" AND sorry none of them deserve to be referred to as Founding Fathers that is pure theft of the title and honor that belongs to those who brought forth the United States of America (although it can be argued that the United States no longer exists).

Tear down your walls Frankie. If you are referring to LEGAL immigration of course there is nothing wrong with that. But we are dealing with the ILLEGAL, but you can't quite get that concept.

We didn't forget how to welcome immigrants, we just want them to come in legally. When they do not, they are breaking the law. I don't want my tax money to fund abortions, but if I protest by not paying my taxes, I break the law and will go to jail.

# 5: "The Church has plenty of problems that he needs to be addressing...declining membership, homosexual priests, etc."
Why would homosexuals want to become "cleibate" prists when the gay Lifetyle and gay marriage have been legalized and pedophilia is on the way? Very few people are aware that, counterintuitively, the legalization=s of those same sex attraction issues over the Chruch's stton objections, have totally resolved the church's probelm with gay priest/clerics and the child abuse porblem. Certainly this has been reflected in the very significant reduction on "vocations" to the priesthood. We are now entering a new era where the Catholic chuch will be excoriated ANEW for its continuing "troglodytic, hateful and lacking in compassion" reistance to changing its stance against the sinfulness of pedophilia.

The false pope's statement is so demonstrably stupid and false that, by using his own logic, we can conclude that Vatican City indeed does not accept and provide for any third world "migrants and refugees" with its border walls.
