The Benefits of Being Blue When Facing
the Justice System

It's good to be a Democrat. You get favorable treatment by the U.S. Department of Justice -- especially when it comes to the handling, or mishandling, of classified information. You get to evade prosecution and early morning raids by dozens of armed FBI agents at your home, like what happened to former President Donald Trump last month. And then, years later if you're Hillary Clinton, you get to rewrite history, spread misinformation to your millions of Twitter followers and not get censored or banned by Big Tech, which holds conservatives to a totally different standard than the left on its biased platforms.

The biggest and foulest crime committed by Democrats is creating and profiting from a two tiered justice system. That is the basic reason we rebelled against the British. It is a denial of the fundamental reason of America's existence.

There’s a perception, perhaps rooted in some reality, that Republicans have nominated a mediocre at best group of candidates — a celebrity doctor, a hillbilly-turned-author, a 1980s football star, and a millennial venture capitalist — in this year’s crucial U.S. Senate elections. As GOP candidates try to remedy their predicaments, the Democrat candidates hope to avoid being linked to President Joe Biden’s lackluster job approval ratings and keep control of the upper chamber. It’s not impossible, but results from the last few election cycles show that it’s unlikely. It’s true that FiveThirtyEight’s election model currently favors Democrats to hold the Senate in two months,

Though the race between Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) and his Republican challenger Herschel Walker has been heating up in recent weeks, Democrat Stacey Abrams has not been able to recapture the supposed magic of her failed 2018 gubernatorial campaign against then-Sec. of State Brian Kemp, where the mainstream media and her fellow woke Democrats couldn’t crow enough about Abrams’ so-called “skills” at electrifying the Democratic vote.Indeed, polling to date shows Abrams has lagged behind Kemp in every poll taken on their match-up save one:

I am a lifelong Democrat. I even worked for Joe Biden at one time. Thus, nothing that has happened in America since January 2021 has surprised me. But the president’s speech in Philadelphia last week marked a new low for America and a new low for a party that I once idolized. To me, the Democratic Party was the party of hope, tolerance, and opportunity. Indeed, those themes echoed through Bill Clinton’s speeches in 1992. Clinton’s presidency was the high-water mark of the post-war Democratic Party. He blended JFK’s idealism with Reagan’s folksiness. He embodied America’s middle class, the greatest political force

In President Joe Biden’s 2007 memoir, Promises to Keep: On Life and Politics, he wrote that the late Sen. Mike Mansfield (D-Mont.) gave him the best advice he ever received: “Joe, never attack another man’s motive, because you don’t know his motive.” Judging from Biden’s increasingly belligerent speeches, he has forgotten Mansfield’s eminently wise counsel. This was rendered abundantly clear during his Thursday speech at Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Standing before a backdrop that looked as if it had been designed by Leni Riefenstahl, he attacked the motives of half the electorate.

The aces at the New York Times are indignant over the “torrent” of “vitriol unleashed on federal law enforcement officials” following the Mar-a-Lago raid. It’s as if the press corps has memory-holed the last six years of FBI history.Director Christopher Wray’s Federal Bureau of Investigation isn’t looking all that different from James Comey’s FBI. The bureau again faces questions over politicized agents and questionable investigations. Mr. Comey left a foundering ship, and it’s an open question whether the current leadership has the will or wherewithal to right it.

Joe Biden’s speech at Philadelphia’s Independence Hall on Thursday was one of the most remarkable in living memory. By “remarkable,” I hasten to add that I do not mean “good.” On the contrary, it was a breathtaking act of what the psychoanalysts call “projection,” blaming others for the bad things you do yourself. The speech itself was a malignant act of demagoguery that will have colonels and generalissimos everywhere catching their breath with envy. The neo-totalitarian stage set, replete with red lighting effects and military personal flanking the shouting, gesticulating Biden, was right out of central casting. Next time, perhaps Biden will wear epaulettes along with his signature aviators.

Since the Democrats achieved their governing trifecta in 2020, they have presided over a cascading series of domestic and foreign policy disasters while displaying transparent contempt for the Constitution. For the sake of the country, it’s imperative that some semblance of balance is restored to the elective branches of our government. The GOP must regain control of Congress in November. Accomplishing this will clearly require solidarity among Republican officials, the conservative commentariat, and the voters who endure Democratic policies. Above all, no circular firing squads.

I still think this is the likeliest Senate swing seat to go blue this fall. Dr. Oz’s favorability in numerous polls has been brutal and he’s too much of a squish to expect much by way of enthusiastic MAGA turnout. (Although getting to run on the same ballot as Doug Mastriano will help with that.) He’s also certainly going to be outspent before this race is done. But he has two things going for him. One is public concern over crime, particularly the epidemic of shootings this year in Philadelphia. A far-left Democrat who’s on record as saying he wants to reduce the prison population

To gauge the trepidation with which the Democrats view the midterms, consider their reaction to last week’s special elections in New York’s 19th and 23rd congressional districts. They eked out a two-point win in the former and lost the latter. Yet, the Democrats and their friends in the Fourth Estate hailed the NY-19 victory as a portent of doom for the GOP in November. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi declared, “Republicans should be very, very, very scared this morning about their prospects.” The lady doth protest too much, to quote the Swan of Avon.

Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom fired shots at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis revealing he will give $100,000 to the Republican governor's midterm opponent in an effort to flip the red seat blue in the November election. In a tweet posted by Newsom Thursday, the governor pledged the large donation to Rep. Charlie Crist, D-Fla., who recently won the Florida gubernatorial Democratic primary and advanced to the midterms where he will face DeSantis. Newsom, who is also running for re-election this fall, made his objective with the donation clear. "Time to make Ron DeSantis a one-term governor," Newsom said.

Team Biden’s student-loan “forgiveness” scheme is yet another example of a misguided and dangerous policy initiative masquerading as a public good — no surprise from an administration in which political missteps are the norm. The left is heralding the plan, which will “forgive” $10,000 for student-loan borrowers making $125,000 or less and $20,000 for Pell Grant recipients, as genuine assistance for millions of debtors. But it’s like a Band-Aid on a gunshot wound. It not only falls short of the hype but provides a false sense of financial relief, worsening an already deeply broken system. The reality is that it’s not the government “forgiving” debt but the

A comprehensively corrupt and politically motivated U.S. Justice Department has appealed the part of Judge Cannon’s previous order appointing a special master with authority to review documents the FBI collected at Mar-a-Lago last month. Joe Manchin cast the deciding vote for the so-called Inflation Reduction Act, and it may end up costing him his political career if a new poll is to be believed. Manchin, who had originally pledged not to sign on to any new spending bill during the country’s current inflationary boom, suddenly switched his position at the end of July. The bill he negotiated, which cost nearly a trillion dollars, was full of wasteful green energy subsidies and payouts to special interests. It also represented a stabbing in the back of Republican senators who had trusted him to keep his word about reconciliation after voting for the CHIPS Act.

Because most people don’t know a farmer personally anymore, everyone should realize that they don’t make piles of money producing our food. A good year can be followed by three bad ones, and 2022 has been a burden. Between record heat waves in the U.S. and abroad, droughts in the middle of the country, fertilizer shortages, and rising costs for just about every farm input, many American farms are on the brink. Everyone will feel the pinch in continued food price increases and shortages at the store. As bad as the agricultural outlook is in America, it is far worse in Europe. The former governor released a statement this week as she lashed out at the voting system and her fellow republican candidate, Nick Begich. Palin claims Begich is to be faulted for costing the Republicans the Ione seat. She also told him to drop out of the race and cause no further harm as they are both supposed to face Peltola again in November.
