Homeland Security on Thursday announced it has adopted a new lenient policy on immigrants’ use of welfare, tossing a Trump-era policy that would have been far stricter. Under the new system, known as the “public charge” rule, immigrants will only be penalized for potential welfare use if the government believes they will eventually become “primarily dependent” on government payments.
By contrast, living in government housing, using Medicaid for health coverage or accepting food stamps wouldn’t count against an immigrant. Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said the new rule will deliver “fair and humane treatment of legal immigrants.”
“Consistent with America’s bedrock values, we will not penalize individuals for choosing to access

Illegals can break any laws and not be arrested. Laws are only used for citizens. Illegals can do anything that they want.

The end game is American citizenship confers nothing special on the people, the American taxpayer must foot the bill for the world.

Will the additional 87,000 IRS agents, many armed, be as “lenient” with American taxpayers? I know, I know, someone has to pay for the 5 million additional illegals plus the 175,000 mostly unvetted Afghans that Biden has welcomed on our many dimes.
If you watched the illegals walking into our country, almost everyone is wearing tee shirts, jeans or shorts. Winter is coming, so will Mayorkas provide them all with warm clothing, shoes/boots, gloves as well as housing, free heat, Medicaid and free food? What’s missing in Biden’s generosity is a cost analysis for an illegal immigrant living here. The Feds have massive amounts of cost analysis for roads. agriculture, CO2 but appear to lack any information on what 20 to 30 million plus illegals are costing us. Why?

Great way to create dependency and voter support. All part of the great plan to control and manipulate the masses. Woke communism at its finest in action. Lenin would be so happy and proud of us.

Supposedly we need immigration to fill open jobs. Inherent in that supposition is the fact that our desire to consume must be out pacing our desire to produce. Are we saying we need a permanent underclass to work so others don't have to? And if those others get the same deal as the rest of us won't they make the same choices? Then don't we get the same imbalance problem between the desire to consume and willingness to work only bigger? If they have a cultural propensity for work how long before that changes as they see others living off of them, as well as them, without the work part?
Fast tracking them to welfare helps that how?

Notice this policy is based on administrative rule making but what makes it against public law is that by expending or obligating money for which Congress has made no appropriation, the policy makers appear to be in violation of the Anti-deficiency Act, which became public law 97-258. Congress has made no appropriation for DHS to make illegal aliens a public charge by putting them completely on the dole.

I’m beginning to think I should go to Mexico, then cross into the U.S. and request asylum. Financially, I suspect I would be better off.

Wait a minute...is there such a thing as Federal welfare - or is the Fed telling each state what to do with their welfare plans and Medicaid?

So now we have to support the "invaders".

The hostility toward ordinary Americans coming from this administration is appalling. Importing poverty to the United States by INVITING illegal aliens to come to the US and abuse our asylum system is the mark of a corrupt "leader" with misplaced priorities, and zero concern for actual constituents. His policies have been popular with all the wrong people, for all the wrong reasons. We don't even control our own borders. What's wrong with this man?

#8 is correct. Query: how is this lawless insanity enhancing homelnd securty?
IIRC security health education and welfare matters remain under the jurisdiction of the states, not the feds, per the Constitution..
each county sheriff and school board , state health agency and police force ought to protect and secure their jurisdictions from
menace.
send them back over the southern border --the rest can be left on the lawns of kalorama martha's vineyard chappaqua miami
and ulkraine--they are flush w/ cash.

Of course they do .
The really disgusting thing (beyond the open borders / embracing of illegal alien invaders / hate white citizens, policies in general), is that DHS has anything to say at all about who gets welfare. That should be a completely different agency.....and actually should be none of the Federal Government's business... It should be up to each individual state.

Consistent with America’s bedrock values, the federal government grants free access to our wallets by illegal aliens and people who choose to be idle. And the icing on the cake is that in addition to the freeloaders, we fund the federal government too! What a country.
