Oberlin College was shocked when it found out the Catholic-run health agency it chose to outsource for student health services is…Catholic. It’s always Oberlin College. Why is it always Oberlin College!? The Catholic Church urges natural family planning (which, after the experience, is relatively easy!) instead of artificial birth control. That includes birth control pills and tubal ligation (tying the fallopian tubes to stop ovulation).(Snip)...I find it impossible for people not to know the Church’s teaching on abortion, artificial birth control, sex, pregnancy, and gender.(Snip)NPR and Oberlin College ruin their argument by including the “workaround” portion in the article.

One year ago this week Joe Biden and the US Military surrendered to the Taliban, armed them with $80 billion in US weapons, turned over the entire country of Afghanistan, including Bagram Air Base to the terrorist regime.
On the way out the door, the US Military knew of a pending suicide bomber attack but failed to act. This resulted in the death of 13 Americans and over 170 Afghans.
There has been no accounting or soul-searching following this humiliating military defeat. No one was fired. No one was brought up on charges.

I build my whole life on words, but I know that a message that goes unsaid can carry just as much weight as 1,000 words carelessly spewed forth in distortion. I found it telling over the past week since I wrote in this space last Sunday about Oberlin College bringing on a Catholic agency to run its Student Health Services(Snip) that Oberlin College’s only public response, to this paper, was to issue a statement claiming its actions had been “inaccurately characterized” in recent media reports.(Snip)The Chronicle requested a copy of any contract with Bon Secours that would outline whether the provider, which has long practiced under Catholic healthcare directives, had promised to provide contraception and gender-affirming care. SANTIAGO, Chile — For the past three years, Chileans have fought over a new path forward for their country in the form of a Constitution, written entirely from scratch, that would transform their society and grant more rights than any national charter before it.
On Sunday, they rejected that text.
The proposed changes had looked to remake one of the most conservative countries in Latin America into one of the world’s most left-leaning societies, but Chileans decided that went too far.
The rejection was an abrupt ending to a long

President Biden’s speech of this past Thursday evening with all the production trappings outside Independence Hall continues to resonate in my mind. I think the anti-Constitutional gist of it can be summed up in three words: I, the People. Biden’s 32 references to “democracy” reflect not so much a misunderstanding of, but rather a fundamental disagreement with, our constitutional set-up.
The constitutional set-up of course establishes a variety of roadblocks to the simple rule of the majority. As Hamilton put it in Federalist No. 9: “The regular distribution of power into distinct departments; the introduction of legislative balances and checks; the institution of courts composed of judges holding their offices

Something strange is going on with Gina Carano’s Twitter account. Namely, as of the present (September 4), it’s not there. The account was active as recently as August 27th. The question is whether Carano deleted her account or Twitter deleted it for her. Usually, when Twitter pulls the plug it suspends the account, such as what it did to President Trump. Carano’s account “no longer exists,” which in Twitter talk means the user deleted it him or herself. This is possible, but this seems unlikely given how Carano freely and frequently used her account to publicize both her conservative views and different acting endeavors

This has been happening with alarming frequency: unprecedented, unlawful, horrifying events. The 2020 election left me staggered. I knew the “reality” of the Biden “win” wasn’t even remotely real and yet there it was. I started pinning my hopes -- thin as they were -- on brave and desperate lawsuits, but little by little we realized that the courts weren’t going to solve this one. So we started looking to the certification process on January 6th of 2021. Surely sanity would return then.
But the events of that day shook all rational people to their core.

ESG is an approach to evaluating how a corporation aligns itself to social goals beyond earning a profit for its shareholders. These goals often pertain to environmental sustainability but also to advocacy for certain social movements and commitment to "diversity, equity and inclusion" (DE&I)....
Other critics have called ESG investing a "wokeness report card" and compared it to China's social credit score system.

Forty-eight empty file folders marked “classified” were included on a detailed list of what the FBI took from Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. The list was unsealed by district judge Aileen Cannon during a hearing in federal court on Thursday.
Following the release, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), a member of the Jan 6 Committee, appeared on CNN’s “The Situation Room” with guest host Brianna Keilar, speculating about the former contents of those empty folders and where they might be. [Video]
“As a citizen, I would just ask the question, where are the files? Where did they go? And which ones of Donald Trump’s friends in the United States

During a portion of an interview aired on Friday’s broadcast of “The Issue Is,” Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm praised California’s proposal to ban the sale of new gas-powered vehicles by 2035 and said the plan “could be” a national model, but acknowledged that the price of electric vehicles has to come down and the power grid has to be expanded.
Host Elex Michaelson asked, “California made national headlines by becoming the first state to say, by 2035, we’re not going to have any gas-powered vehicles that are new that are being sold. You can still drive your old ones, but you can’t sell new ones. Do you like this concept?”

Democrats have a terrible record of behaving horribly towards black conservatives. They will often openly use demeaning and even racist terms to insult them.
Just look at the way the left has treated Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, or Dr. Ben Carson.
Virginia’s Lt. Governor Winsome Sears is a conservative Republican and she has dealt with this issue as well.
She recently spoke to a writer for the New York Post:Winsome Sears: Why Democrats despise black conservatives like me
The definition of winsome is “sweetly or innocently charming: winning, engaging.”
The lieutenant governor of Virginia, Winsome Sears, is all of these, but she is also tough

A source operating under the umbrella of CBP told Breitbart Texas that agents in the Del Rio Sector apprehended nearly 1,700 migrants per day in August. This raised the number of migrants apprehended in the sector from 50,000 in July to more than 52,000 in August

Joe Biden on Thursday evening declared war on Trump supporters in a divisive primetime speech on the ‘battle for the soul of America’ from Philadelphia.
Joe Biden called 75+ million Trump supporters “a clear and present danger to our democracy.”
Biden added, “MAGA Republicans embrace anger, thrive on chaos, live in shadow of lies… History tells us a blind loyalty to single leader has failed democracy.”
“MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution, they do not believe in the rule of law …
