President Joe Biden rolled out a new nickname for MAGA Republicans on Labor Day during a lively speech where he also walked back comments suggesting Donald Trump's supporters believe in 'semi-fascism.' During his speech in Wisconsin on Monday, the president denounced the former president's followers as 'Trumpies' and claimed politicians on the 'extreme right' of the GOP are 'coming for your social security' and destroying worker pensions. At one point Biden was interrupted by a heckler—though he told Secret Service to 'let him go.' 'Everybody's entitled to be an idiot,' the president said to scattered laughter. And despite clarifying early on that 'not every Republican is a MAGA Republican,

Washington—Republicans blasted the FBI as politically biased Monday after The Post reported that disgraced ex-FBI agent Timothy Thibault was the “point man” for former Hunter Biden business partner Tony Bobulinski—and never followed up with him about his bombshell claims. Bobulinski alleged one month before the 2020 election that Joe Biden was involved with his son Hunter and brother Jim’s dealings with Chinese energy company CEFC, which reportedly paid the Bidens $4.8 million in 2017 and 2018.(Snip)“Where does it stop?” tweeted Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee. “According to brave whistleblowers, Timothy Thibault: -Tried to shut down an avenue

Questions continue to mount over the White House's federal student loan forgiveness plan as multiple analyses suggest the government has underestimated the policy's hefty price tag. The most broadly impactful measure is the cancellation of up to $10,000 in student debt for borrowers making under $125,000 or $250,000 married.(Snip)
But even without the cost estimates of the other policy points, several private analyses already suggest the White House's projection is modest at best. Among the most highly-cited is the Penn-Wharton budget model, which predicts total costs could reach $1 trillion. 'It is ludicrous to think that the White House’s student loan forgiveness plan will only cost $240 billion

Busses of migrants sent to New York City from Texas were welcomed with handshakes and an official escort from members of Mayor Eric Adams' administration in Manhattan Sunday. Texas Governor Greg Abbott has ordered over a dozen buses of migrants to the Big Apple, Chicago, and Washington DC in an attempt to show them the nature of the crisis at the border. So far, Texas has forked out nearly $13million to Wynne Transportation—the charter service that is taking migrants to the various cities. Around 44 migrants got off Sunday's bus, which was ordered to New York by El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser.

National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) said on this week’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday” that former President Donald Trump had been a “fantastic ally,” especially on fundraising for GOP candidates. Guest-anchored by Mike Emanuel asked, “Have you or your team at the NRCC recommended to any Republicans that they distance themselves from former President Trump?” Emmer said, “Absolutely not. The president has been a fantastic ally of ours, especially when it comes to fundraising and our candidates. Again, what we tell them is you know your districts, you know how to run to the people that are going to be voting for you

Jackson, Miss.—When John Tierre launched his restaurant in Jackson’s neglected Farish Street Historic District, he was drawn by the neighborhood’s past as an economically independent cultural hub for Black Mississippians, and the prospect of helping usher in an era of renewed prosperity. This week he sat on the empty, sun-drenched patio of Johnny T’s Bistro and Blues and lamented all the business he has lost as tainted water flows through his pipes—just like other users in the majority Black city of 150,000, if they were lucky enough to have any pressure at all.(Snip)Today the city is more than 80% black, and 25% of its residents

President Joe Biden’s plan to instantly write off up to $20,000 in individual loans is bad enough, costing the taxpayers north of $300 billion—but the rest of his idea is even worse: He wants to the public to eat most all future student debt, too.(Snip)Biden would roll back borrowers’ maximum monthly payment on undergrad loans to just 5% of “discretionary” income—and cut the amount of earnings considered “discretionary.” Then he’d wipe out all remaining debt after just 10 years for many borrowers. The payment limit by itself is huge: The White House boasts it means “no borrower earning under 225% of the federal poverty level … will

The E. coli outbreak linked to romaine lettuce from Wendy’s fast food restaurants has spread to New York and Kentucky, part of six states where the illness has been discovered. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are at least 97 reported cases in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky and New York. More than half of the infections are in Michigan.
“The true number of sick people in this outbreak is likely higher than the number reported, and the outbreak may not be limited to the states with known illnesses,” the CDC cautioned in its statement.
Some cases have had more severe outcomes, including 43 individuals

A U.S. federal court sentenced a Salvadoran man to nearly four years in prison for his role in helping his wife and her boyfriend smuggle weapons and ammunition into Mexico. In one of the smuggling attempts, the group tried to send more than 13,000 rounds of ammunition across the Texas-Mexico. Juan Jose Roque, age 36, went before U.S. District Judge Micaela Alvarez in McAllen, Texas, who sentenced him to three years and ten months in federal prison on arms and ammunition smuggling charges. Roque pleaded guilty to the charges on April 29. Since he is in the country illegally, Roque faces deportation upon completion of his incarceration.
