Things that have become conventional wisdom are so often proven dead wrong that we are wise to put “no” in front of anything that is bruited endlessly by the media and advanced by Democratic leaders.
There are so many things in which we naysayers have been right and the conventional wisdom proven wrong that it’s impossible for me to keep tabs. Don Surber does a great job.
Here are a handful from his latest blog: Shutting down the country was a major mistake which people like New York Governor Kathy Hochul are being forced to admit.

Thank you, Clarice, for putting it all together. Having a cup of coffee with you makes my day.

I believe the Dems hope of college debt forgiveness stays alive until after the midterm elections. Then it’s OK to be cancelled.

I love Clarice. I wish American Thinker didn’t change their comment section to paid subscribers only. It used to be the best comments on the web.

#3, you’re not missing much. I’m a paid subscriber and these days there are rarely more than about 5-10 replies and sometimes less.
As usual, Clarice hits all of the issues and nails them. I’m thinking about sending this to my millennial daughter who is all into the “organic” scam, though she is otherwise very conservative.

It should be called "government conventional wisdom". Just a sea of disappointments and errors. Rather than governments immediately making up stuff and requiring 100% adherence whatever happened to freedom and trial and error. I guess that's what you get when we have a doofus in the WH.

#6. Before they changed the rules the comments were often brilliant, incite fun and informative. Also there were few trolls to ruin things. I am retired and on a shrinking fixed income so I cannot afford some luxuries as AT.

A must read.
I would add only one thing that came out in the last couple weeks. Cooler oceans lead to droughts..

We tend to think that many news stories only affect U.S.
Here is a pull quote which shows that this is not always the case: "The shutdowns hurt the world more than COVID did" among other points made in the article/
The author gives a hat tip to one of my favorite columnists Don Surber. I didn't know about him until I saw it here on Lucianne.... thank you L.Dotters!

Great article, of course. But I highly recommend the string of brilliant comments appended thereto. The info about the HIV string in the genome is particularly alarming.

Here is a tricky one. If Biden is using an Executive Order to eliminate student loan debt, can't the NEXT President reverse the order and reinstate the debt ( especially a lame duck President in his first day in office who cannot run again ). Otherwise, what gives Biden the authority to eliminate debt to the govt ?

One of the most deeply held nuggets of common wisdom is that people pay taxes to fund the government. The COVID relief bills that sent trillions of dollars to people to offset their loss of income when their businesses were shutdown with no offsetting tax increase or cost cutting confirmed this basic fact. The Federal Government has the power through the Federal Reserve bank to create as much currency as it needs to pay its obligations and can never go insolvent. They create currency in a computer owned by their private bank (Federal Reserve) and deposit it in the Treasury banks for the rest of state, local, and private currency consumers to spend and save on goods and services in the real economy. The Fed's deficit is a surplus to the rest of us. When we spend less that we earn we can save the surplus in government accounts called Treasury bonds and they'll pay us interest income which is also nice.
Federal taxation is only needed to drain excess currency from the private economy and to force everyone to get income in the government's currency (dollars) so that they can pay their federal taxes. This is a secret that they political class doesn't want voters to know. They have over the decades created arbitrary constraints of "pay-as-you-go" taxation schemes and a "debt ceilings" to give them the power to sell benefits to their preferred donors. They also avoid the really hard consensus decisions about determining what are the broader needs of our society that benefit everyone like improved infrastructure, health care, education, and most economical energy sources.
Biden is just playing one group against the other to get votes and everyone knows it. If you understand how the real economy works, it doesn't have to be this divisive.

#12's comments completely ignore the inflationary result of this monetary policy, which outstrips wage increases and savings interest/value. Janet Yellen, is that you?

Good article but "oxymoron"? Like jumbo shrimp?
I think we're looking at maybe a "misnomer" or "contradiction of terms."
Whatever... The referenced articles are spot on. Surbers been a must read for two weeks now. Sundance too btw

#17 would never be accused of being a driveby. One of the smartest posters on this forum, she was a tireless worker (not just supporter) of MAGA and Donald J. Trump for President. One of our shining lights who just doesn’t post often enough...
