Vulnerable Democrats Already Running Away

Joe Biden always knew that the forgiveness of $10,000 per borrower in student loan debt would be politically controversial. On the one hand, he’d receive the gratitude — and votes — of millions of younger voters for taking $10K in debt off their balance sheets. But on the other hand, there are those millions of voters who might resent these younger voters dodging their responsibility — a responsibility they willingly took on — all because they’re an important voting bloc for the Democratic Party.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the House have the purse strings? If the POTUS can spend like a demented sailor, there should be enough support to stop this in Congress.

Another irony is that the mush-skulled nongrads who will benefit would have voted for Dem candidates already. I suspect that the Dems' strategy will be to stall the promised payoffs until after the election, and then when the courts throw this scheme out, shrug and blame those mean Republicans.

This is totally unconstitutional. ALL spending MUST, according to the Constitution ORIGINATE in the House. MUST, not an option. Traitor Joe's handout is ILLEGAL on the face of it. Spending like that cannot originate in ANY part of the Executive Branch and ONLY in the House of the Legislative Branch. The Senate cannot originate a spending bill, ever.

This was all predictable when the government took over the student loan program from the bank during Doorknob Hussein's administration. Btw, statistically, it was predominantly the black students who defaulted on their student loans. Another btw, this student loan forgiveness will save many universities with high "cohert default rate" from "recertification" denials. Recertification means, they can keep pumping student loan applications unconditionally without credit checks. How wonderful! Universities and institutions can keep converting innocent students into wokeness and stupidness.

Vice President Kamala Harris lost another top staffer this week, as the exodus of her staffers continue. Herbie Ziskend, a senior communications adviser, announced that he is leaving Harris’s side for the West Wing, where he will be the new White House deputy communications director. Harris is teetering on the verge of having no staffers as many have walked away amid claims of turmoil and dysfunction. Ziskend joined the Vice President at the beginning of President Joe Biden’s term, one of the few who have made it this long before finding a new role.

The raid on Mar-A-Lago was a pretextual search using the National Archive rules and mischaracterize classified document laws to justify an unlawful search warrant. This raid is only a part of an ongoing criminal conspiracy (RICO) or silent coup by the Deep State to take down Trump, first before his election in 2016, to prevent his reelection in 2020, and now to torpedo his possible re-election in 2024. Trump is a direct threat to the coup's survival. The Deep State is protected by the DOJ and FBI that have gone full Stasi. I have written and served hundreds of search warrants in my career as a police detective.

The recent clandestine FBI raid on the home of President Donald Trump leaves little doubt that America indeed is in the midst of a second civil war. The war thus far is a non-shooting war with multiple "fronts" of attack waged and supported by both domestic and foreign enemies. If they are successful, they will have effectively nullified America's constitutional republic and negated most, if not all, of Americans' cherished constitutional rights and freedoms. This civil war is being waged successfully against the American republic by multiple organizations and numerous powerful, very wealthy people

"I'll change, baby!" Those are the famous last words of every spousal abuser in the history of failed relationships. If you ever hear them, run! He (or she) won't change; they never do. People and systems change when there is no other option. They change not only when complicit parties take ownership of their actions, but when their actions have consequences. The last few weeks saw a continuation of the past six years of governmental abuse.

When I was an undergraduate in the late 1960s, I underwent a kind of transformative experience during a classroom debate with another student that I believed I was clearly winning when the philosophy professor corrected me. He reminded me that when engaged in a philosophical debate, as opposed to the 9th grade Debating Challenge, the point is not simply to vanquish one’s opponent but to find the truth. In order to do the former one may use any means fair or foul to destroy the opponent. For the latter one must do the exact opposite and represent one’s opponent’s position in the strongest terms possible.

No doubt still sulking over the Roe v. Wade reversal — the opening sentence of their recent op-ed published in The New York Times is, “When liberals lose at the Supreme Court — as they increasingly have over the past half-century” — two Ivy League professors laid out their claims for an America without Constitutional limitations. They suggest, “the way to seek real freedom will be to use procedures consistent with popular rule.” Of course, the piece is polished sewage: tyranny of the majority is a very real, and very dangerous threat to the individual, (perhaps they should go read Federalist 10, but they likely wouldn’t understand that either).

Elites have always been ambiguous about the muscular classes who replace their tires, paint their homes, and cook their food. And the masses who tend to them likewise have been ambivalent about those who hire them: appreciative of the work and pay, but also either a bit envious of those with seemingly unlimited resources or turned off by perceived superciliousness arising from their status and affluence. Yet the divide has grown far wider in the 21st century. Globalization fueled the separation in a number of ways. One, outsourcing and offshoring eroded the rust-belt interior, while enriching the two coasts. The former lost good-paying jobs, while the latter found new markets

I have been reading with horror Julie Kelley’s day-to-day description of the treatment afforded some 850 people arrested in D.C. for conduct on January 6 and the awful legal representation and judicial treatment they have received. Many have been held in horrible prison conditions for over a year, denied bail and an opportunity to have their cases heard outside this venue where the jurors will never grant them a fair trial. None of the big law firms in town which puff up their public service donating time -- for example, to defend Guantanamo Bay detainees -- have to my knowledge volunteered to help these people.

It seems like just yesterday that politicians would try to sway voters to come to their point of view and cast a vote for them. Things have changed. In the past week, Charlie Crist told conservative voters he wants nothing to do with them because they're evil; Kathy Hochul told Republicans to leave her state; and, in the culmination of this abuse, Joe Biden effectively affixed the label "fascist" to Trump's 74,216,154 voters (all of whom are actual human beings). Is it any coincidence that, in the same week, activists twice swatted Marjorie Taylor Greene?

Joe Biden was warned by the Treasury Secretary and his wife not to cancel student debt, but pressed ahead regardless on the urging of Kamala Harris, it has been claimed. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen argued that with inflation around a 40-year high, the cancellation of student loans could free up consumer spending and drive inflation higher, the New York Times reported. Jill Biden, who works part-time as a college lecturer, also urged her husband to reconsider. She campaigned on free community college, but did not push for the cancellation of debt.

Did Biden drop the ball again — or did he never expect to be allowed to run with it in the first place? The assurance, contained in a letter to House Oversight Committee Chair Rep. Carolyn Maloney and House Intelligence Chairman Rep. It comes after a heavily redacted document released Friday revealed 15 boxes of documents returned from Mar-a-Lago contained 184 classified documents, 67 confidential documents and 25 top secret documents.
