Joe Biden always knew that the forgiveness of $10,000 per borrower in student loan debt would be politically controversial. On the one hand, he’d receive the gratitude — and votes — of millions of younger voters for taking $10K in debt off their balance sheets. But on the other hand, there are those millions of voters who might resent these younger voters dodging their responsibility — a responsibility they willingly took on — all because they’re an important voting bloc for the Democratic Party.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the House have the purse strings? If the POTUS can spend like a demented sailor, there should be enough support to stop this in Congress.

Are you trying to tell me that there are some Democrat office holders who actually listen to, and care about their working class constituents? Imagine my surprise!

Another irony is that the mush-skulled nongrads who will benefit would have voted for Dem candidates already. I suspect that the Dems' strategy will be to stall the promised payoffs until after the election, and then when the courts throw this scheme out, shrug and blame those mean Republicans.

Don’t be fooled by my liberal Senator Catherine Mastodon, who is now against this. She’s only trying to save her job and will agree with every stupid democrat vote right after the election.

This simply lets off the hook all those thousands who got college loans and then dropped out. No degree.

This is totally unconstitutional. ALL spending MUST, according to the Constitution ORIGINATE in the House. MUST, not an option.
Traitor Joe's handout is ILLEGAL on the face of it. Spending like that cannot originate in ANY part of the Executive Branch and ONLY in the House of the Legislative Branch. The Senate cannot originate a spending bill, ever.

Face it, it's predominantly black student loan that'll be forgiven. Indirectly, it's called Reparation.

This was all predictable when the government took over the student loan program from the bank during Doorknob Hussein's administration. Btw, statistically, it was predominantly the black students who defaulted on their student loans. Another btw, this student loan forgiveness will save many universities with high "cohert default rate" from "recertification" denials. Recertification means, they can keep pumping student loan applications unconditionally without credit checks. How wonderful! Universities and institutions can keep converting innocent students into wokeness and stupidness.

I was reading that some were preparing to make application for their $10,000 loan so it could be forgiven. Surprised, raise your hand.
