Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom fired shots at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis revealing he will give $100,000 to the Republican governor's midterm opponent in an effort to flip the red seat blue in the November election.
In a tweet posted by Newsom Thursday, the governor pledged the large donation to Rep. Charlie Crist, D-Fla., who recently won the Florida gubernatorial Democratic primary and advanced to the midterms where he will face DeSantis.
Newsom, who is also running for re-election this fall, made his objective with the donation clear. "Time to make Ron DeSantis a one-term governor," Newsom said.

Team Biden’s student-loan “forgiveness” scheme is yet another example of a misguided and dangerous policy initiative masquerading as a public good — no surprise from an administration in which political missteps are the norm.
The left is heralding the plan, which will “forgive” $10,000 for student-loan borrowers making $125,000 or less and $20,000 for Pell Grant recipients, as genuine assistance for millions of debtors. But it’s like a Band-Aid on a gunshot wound. It not only falls short of the hype but provides a false sense of financial relief, worsening an already deeply broken system. The reality is that it’s not the government “forgiving” debt but the

The euphoric headlines are everywhere this month:
“Democrats Enter the Fall Armed With Something New: Hope” (New York Times)“Democrats Are Starting to See a Path to Victory in November” (Vanity Fair)
“Jubilant Senate Democrats head home with momentum” (Washington Post)
Many in the media really, really want you to believe that the Democratic agenda led by President Biden is capturing the hearts and minds of voters. That what was supposed to be a red wave is now becoming a ripple, with the Blue Team instead poised to make gains in November.

Another slew of whistleblowers have come forward with misconduct claims against the FBI following the Bureau's raid on former President Donald Trump's Florida estate.FBI field offices in Miami, Salt Lake City, Buffalo and Newark face accusations that their upper management coerced agents to sign false affidavits, inflated terrorism caseloads to improve their apparent performance, engaged in illicit sexual activities, or concealed those of others, according to the Washington Times.
“The FBI is completely out of control and its culture and structure needs to change. Not only is the political bias completely out of control and disgustingly obvious, the FBI knows they will not be held accountable for

Beginning in earnest with Donald Trump’s election in 2016, working class voters in the United States have fled the Democratic Party in droves, quickly eroding a once solid base of support for the party. Amid this seismic shift in the electorate, many elected Democrats and mainstream media pundits have over the past several months desperately tried to prop up this narrative of Democrats as the party of everyday Americans – even as the policies emanating from Washington have grown increasingly opposed to their interests.
Following the 2016 election, many in media circles seemed to believe that Trump’s performance with blue-collar and working class voter

In 1980, when the voters of Arkansas denied Bill Clinton a second term as the state’s governor, he responded by apologizing to the voters for the poor decisions he had made and asking them how he could have done a better job. This humble approach allowed him to regain the trust of the voters, and he was reelected in 1982. The rest, to coin a phrase, is history. There’s a lesson for Rep. Liz Cheney in this story, but she refuses to learn it. Indeed, on Sunday, she literally dismissed the Wyoming voters who rejected her as “sick.”

Just wait until Andrew Warren gets around to reading Florida’s constitution. The suspended State Attorney in Florida’s 13th Judicial District sued Gov. Ron DeSantis today, claiming a “blatant abuse of power” in, um … taking Warren at his word, or something:“This morning I filed a suit in federal court to challenge that blatant abuse of power by Governor DeSantis in suspending me as state attorney,” Warren said during a Wednesday morning press conference in Tallahassee. “There is so much more at stake here than my job.”

Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chair Sean Maloney said the party has a “likability problem” when it comes to racial and gender issues in an interview with the New York Times Saturday.
The interview was conducted after The New York Times endorsed Maloney in the Democratic congressional primary for New York’s 17th District.

The midterm red wave may have crested elsewhere, but it doesn’t appear to have tapped out in Florida — at least not in the latest University of North Florida survey. Their latest poll, released this morning, shows Nikki Fried edging out Charlie Crist for the gubernatorial nomination in the August 23rd primary. However, both of them trail incumbent Ron DeSantis significantly overall and especially in one key demo:
Registered Democrats who are likely to vote in the August 23 primary election were asked their vote choices for the Democratic nominees for Florida Governor and U.S. Senate. A respondent is considered a “likely” voter if they said they would

More than a dozen FBI whistleblowers have come forward to Republican investigators in Congress, according to Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH).
The congressman, who is the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, told Fox News host Trey Gowdy the number has risen to 14 after the FBI raid at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort.During a conversation about alleged politicization at the Justice Department, along with former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, Jordan made the case that the public has "figured it out" when it comes to what he characterized as the Left generating a lie, the "Big Media" reporting the lie, Big Tech amplifying the lie, and then both piling on Republicans

For most of 2022, Democratic voters have been more ambivalent about participating in the fall midterms than their Republican counterparts. According to conventional Beltway wisdom, however, that enthusiasm gap has been narrowed by the recent Roe v. Wade ruling and the Jan. 6 hearings. It’s probable, though, that last Monday’s FBI raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate will reestablish the Republican advantage. This unprecedented action will likely energize GOP voters and drown any increase in Democratic enthusiasm beneath a red tsunami. The first poll to measure public response to the raid indicates that it has galvanized Republicans and Independents.

The Donald Trump revenge tour is in full swing. The former president has again proven that the 2016 makeover of the Republican Party was no one-off fluke. It was a seismic shift regarding the composition of the party base, which is bluer collar and working class, and the priorities of its voters. The neo-populist moment that burst onto the scene in the 2010 midterms with the Tea Party wave reached full maturation during the 2016 cycle. In 2022, Donald Trump’s endorsement not only carries weight—virtually all his endorsed candidates have won their primary races—he’s picking off those who joined the effort to impeach him on the bogus
