Aprominent Atlanta music festival has been canceled amid the recent implementation of new gun laws in Georgia.
Music Midtown, a music festival that began in 1996, was set to return to Atlanta on September 17 and 18, with major headliners like Future, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy and Jack White. But in a statement posted on its official website, festival organizers confirmed that the event has been canceled for this year, "due to circumstances beyond our control." Refunds will be issued to those who had already purchased tickets.
"Hey Midtown fans — due to circumstances beyond our control, Music Midtown will no longer be taking place this year," the statement said.

The administration’s “green” energy proposals, like those that have been adopted in Europe, are leading this country toward an economic, social and strategic disaster. It is hard to think of any set of policies, adopted by any government at any moment in history, that rival our “green” mania for sheer destructiveness. Although, that said, Sri Lanka’s brief commitment to “sustainability” comes to mind.
Speaking of sustainability, this piece by Stuart Gottlieb in today’s Wall Street Journal, titled “Biden’s Climate Plans Are Unsustainable,” makes some great points.
"[T]he greatest threat to [environmental] progress—particularly in the critical realm of climate—comes not from such emerging mega-emitters as China and India,

There were many things wrong with the 2020 election, but one of the biggest was the massive amounts of 'Zuckerbucks' used to influence the structure of elections at the local level.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan injected $350 million into over 2,500 election departments through the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative along with another $69.5 million to secretaries of state, disproportionately benefiting Democrat electorates.
As David Horowitz and John Perazzo wrote in their expose of the ugly influence operation, the grant money had to be used to "suspend existing election laws in order to promote universal mail-in voting", "eliminate or weaken signature-matching requirements

President Biden is the Clown-in-Chief of the big circus that is the Biden administration. He has half a mind to be president. There is nothing funny about it. His administration is a circus colloquially speaking. President Biden and senior administration officials are not serious people. They have manifested as political hacks.
Biden’s selection of Kamala Harris as his running mate set the tone. Her self-identification as black was prerequisite to her selection. Transparency is her leading quality. To put it discreetly, she is transparently vacuous.
Take Janet Yellen — please. Yellen holds the venerable office of Secretary of the Treasury. Former chairman of the Federal Reserve,

Bill Russell, the cornerstone of the Boston Celtics dynasty that captured 11 NBA championships in 13 years — including 8 in a row — died peacefully in his home on Sunday with his wife at his side. He was 88.
Beginning in 1956 at the University of San Francisco, Russell had the most incredible career of anyone in any team sport. During the next 15 years, he would win two NCAA championships, an Olympic gold medal, be named to 12 NBA all-star teams, and win 11 professional championships.
One eye-popping statistic speaks to who Bill Russell was: In 30 elimination games at the college, pro, and Olympic levels,

It seemed obvious that Joe Biden’s selection of Kamala Harris as his running mate was a bad idea. Of all the Black Women™ he could have chosen, how he landed on her is a question for the ages. Unless, of course, someone figured they needed someone so awful that she would make Joe Biden look better by comparison.
I suppose that’s it.
The Biden-Harris White House has had over 30 senior staffers jump ship — many from Kamala’s office. The latest is Michael Collins, Harris’s director of public engagement; he follows senior aides Meghan Groob and Rohini Kosoglu, who departed a few weeks prior. Groob was Kamala’s director of speechwriting; it’s

With the 2022 midterm elections less than four months away, a New York Times/Siena College poll revealed that just 1 percent of registered voters viewed climate change as a “top priority,” let alone the most important issue facing the nation. The poll placed climate change far behind concerns about inflation, the economy, record crime rates, and the humanitarian crisis on America’s southern border. Even among voters younger than 30 -- the demographic that is typically most energized by debates about environmental policy -- the corresponding figure was a mere 3 percent.
The same poll showed that public concern about climate change has actually declined significantly from the already-low levels of concern

FOX News media reporter Joseph Wulfsohn picked up Rep. Jesús “Chuy” Garcia’s vulgar tweet below before it was deleted two hours later. I assume Garcia composed it. I can’t believe a staffer would have the nerve to speak this way under Garcia’s name. Warning: If you click on the tweet you will see the whole thing.
Garcia is (over)sensitive to criticism. The sensitivity also makes me think it is Garcia himself speaking in the tweet. That seems a little unusual for a man whose chosen profession is politics. He really ought to develop a thicker skin.
I wonder if we (I) can learn anything from it. These are my thoughts.

The next political crisis may be triggered by a further loss of trust in authority, coupled with another institutional demand for power. Even before the Covid pandemic broke out, faith in institutions was at an all-time low — and falling. In 2022 trust in organized religion was more than four times higher than in Congress. No branch of government was trusted by more than 50% of the public except the military, not even the police.
Yet this loss in institutional trust coincided with unprecedented demands by institutions for a vast increase in power. It included the power to regulate nearly anything

The people who really run the United States of America have made it clear that they can’t, and won’t, if they can help it, allow Donald Trump to be president again. In fact, they made this clear in 2020, in a series of public statements. Simply for quoting their words in an essay for The American Mind, I was mercilessly mocked and attacked. But they were quite clear. Trump won’t be president at noon, Jan. 20, 2021, even if we have to use the military to drag him out of there.
“Anti-Trump hysteria is in the final analysis not about Trump.”
If the regime felt that strongly back then,

In the administration’s haste to put out a “this is not a recession” message, they rolled out the recently COVID-19-recovered President Biden. Many COVID patients report residual brain fog, and it may be the virus that made Biden’s foggier than usual. During a discussion with his economic advisors, he essentially called Americans ignorant for not understanding all the Biden administration has done for them and treating us like ingrates for not appreciating the handouts we received.
Biden taking credit for keeping teachers on the job and schools open was pretty galling. But it only got worse. In response to one question, Biden said he takes consumer confidence

Nicholas Roske, the California man who attempted to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, was literally gunning for a SCOTUS trifecta. He wanted to kill three justices. His plan was to “change the votes for decades to come,” according to court documents.
"Two dead judges ain't gonna do nothing," an unnamed user told Roske in a Discord message. "You would die before you killed them all."
Roske: "Yeah but I could get at least one, which would change the votes for decades to come, and I am shooting for 3." (Snip) Roske flew in from California and took a taxi to Kavanaugh’s house. He was armed with a handgun,
