A jury in a federal court in Washington, D.C., on Friday found former Trump White House adviser Steve Bannon guilty on both counts in his contempt of Congress trial.
The 12-member jury found him guilty on both counts of contempt for failing to comply with two subpoenas issued by the Democrat-led House committee investigation the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot.
Sentencing is set for Oct. 21. Each count carries a minimum of 30 days of jail and as long as a year behind bars, according to the Associated Press.

Unless you're a Dem, no such thing as a jury of your peers in DC.

Ten years ago Eric Holder was held in contempt, but of course never prosecuted. More two-tiered justice against conservatives. Anyone politically to the right of the Bushes is liable to get thrown into the US gulag.

Equal Justice under the Law is DEAD in America. Democrats are rejoicing and the liberal media is creaming their jeans on every outlet right now. Elections have consequences, but stolen elections have severe consequences. The next few months will be an interesting time in America.

There are not enough jail cells in the country to hold all the people that hold Congress in contempt.

I don’t know how many of us here at Lucianne.com have friends, families or acquaintances who are liberals but for those of us who do, make sure you tell them about this serious case of injustice. The two words - Eric Holder. Same charge and he’s walking around free as a bird. Why? The only answer is that we have two sets of laws now - one for ‘rats and one for Republicans. This CANNOT be allowed.

The attacker that tried to assassinate Congressman Lee Zeldin last night was released on his own recognizance within hours. Now watch, Bannon will be incarcerated for two years for not complying with a bogus written congressional order supporting the J6 lie. How can these two incidents be treated so much differently? Political prisoners are the only prisoners being held in America since Nov 3, 2020. Think about it, they release every criminal within hours in democrat run towns, but a low-level white-collar crime goes full speed ahead with a conviction.

Apparently the last time anyone was prosecuted for contempt of congress was after watergate. Two folks, obviously both republicans were convicted. In the 50 years since that time literally dozens of Dems have ignored congressional subpoenas and the DOJ has refused to prosecute any of them. Why is this time different?
Enquiring minds would like to know.
Enquiring minds would also like to know under what authority this committee even has the power to subpoena. It is the first time in our history that an investigative committee has been entireley appointed by one party in order to investigate the other party. And by the senates own rules it is not a legal investigative committee.
ANd the DC Circuit is the smallest (by a factor of 20 fold) circuit court, the least diverse, ideologically, politically, racially, economically and educationally of any district in the US. WHy does this miniscule jury non representative jury pool (less than 500,000 members, 30% who work for the government and should not be eligable for these types of juries, 57% registered D. Remove the education and income of the Federal transplants and the demographics are almost monolithic.) get to decide ALL of the government corruption cases brought by the DOJ?
Federal prosecutions should be rotated throughout all 13 circuit courts, not centrally located in the center of the very vipers nest the corruption is in.

Reminds me of an old Mae West film:
Judge: Miss, are you trying to show contempt for this court?
Mae West: Well, no, Your Honor, I'm trying to hide it.

The right to confront your accuser....The accusers were/are the congresscritters, not the staffer/minion they sent.
"in all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right…to be confronted with the witnesses against him." The right only applies to criminal prosecutions, not civil cases or other proceedings. Generally, the right is to have a face-to-face confrontation with witnesses who are offering testimonial evidence against the accused in the form of cross-examination during a trial.
