Recently there has been a spate of stories about Republicans’ difficulties in taking over the Senate. These analyses typically focus on candidates’ poor polling numbers in key states and the weakness of the Republican recruiting class.
These aren’t absurd analyses; I’ve referred to the battle between the overall electoral environment and Republican candidate quality as “the irresistible force versus the immovable object” in previous columns. Had the Republican Party fielded its A-team in states like Georgia, Pennsylvania and Arizona, we probably would not be talking about Democrats even having a shot at retaining the Senate.
At the same time, we shouldn’t get carried away.
Controlling the House won't be enough. The Dems can still do a lot of damage if Schumer has the reins. Time to step things up, GOP.

the only thing that would be the cherry on the sundae would be for romeny, murkowski, collins, sullivan and some of the other RINO's to be red carded in the next election

Repubs cannot win if dems keep cheating. We have to stop them. We have to be UP 20% to win.

I'm still scratching my head over how Herschel Walker is the best we can do to rid ourselves of Warnock.
Walker is being eviscerated in the media for his love children and what is being portrayed as a questionable charity he was associated with.
In short... he is not qualified. I will vote for him, but he has no experience at all that would make him Senatorial material.

Pennsylvania has become interesting, because Fetterman, who is an excellent retail campaigner, is too sick to campaign right now - atrial fibrillation, probable cardiomyopathy, had a pacemaker and defibrillator installed.
Fetterman is running TV ads that don't appear to be effective. He is a huge man, scary looking, and without retail politics, he may lose.
(as a big man, also scary looking, I can sympathize with him.)
Oz is not a strong candidate, but circumstances may lead to his victory.

Even if Republicans win the Senate it won't make a world of difference if swamp creature McConnell is still their so-called "leader".

Didn't we control the Congress for a couple of years under Trump? How did that turn out for us?

Not going to help much to win the house and senate if half the Republicans are RINOs. The RNC knows this and keeps supporting the RINOs.

Here in Kentucky it's Rand Paul vs Charles Booker. I have seen a grand total of 2 Booker signs. I hope Rand wipes him out.

I agree witth most above. Without a major MAGA win in the ongoing primaries and the general election, the headline is just "happy talk" from the UniParty.
I still have doubts we will even HAVE an election in NOvember - with all the "health emergencies" about.

"there are voters who may disapprove of the job the president is doing, but will nevertheless vote Democratic"
THAT is why the message should be that, "Yes, Biden is an incompetent president but he was simply carrying out the will of the dem party. The mess we are in is due to FAILED DEM POLICIES. The only way to fix that is to replace as many dems with Republicans as possible.
For example, maybe a Herschel Walker is not your cup of tea and you kind of like the Dem candidate. The simple reality is voting for the dem candidate is continuing to support the failed dem policies. Walker will be a vote for Republican policies which will almost certainly be better than what the dems have done.
It's not the candidate, it's the party. The weakest Republican is better than the strongest dem. Yes, many Republicans can be pretty dim about things. The time to fix that is in the primaries (bye, bye Liz Cheney). After that, vote Republican is the only real choice.

Unfortunately, the RINOs will prevent any dramatic changes, even if the Senate becomes "Republican".
McConnell works more for China than for American voters.

You always have to remember that the Stupid Party with its RINOS have always has a great propensity to sabotage their own future probable success. We will see what happens!

What difference does it make if the hateful and traitorous Mitch McConnell is still shaking his wattle as Senate Leader???? I know Biden et al are horrific, but a deceitful, conniving, back stabbing soulless creature like McConnell is worse in so many ways. He is stone cold hatred of America personified. And spare me the stories of how he pulled through for our SC judges. It is cold comfort when he turns around and ignores the people he represents. Frigging elitist pig.

Both Oz and Herschel are endorsed by Trump...isn't that a guarantee? It was for Romney.
I have my doubts that Walker's love children matter to anyone but the pearl clutchers. More than half the children today live in one-parent conditions. Single mothers are our heroines, it seems. If he makes his support payments, in today's day and age, what's the scandal? If elected, Oz will be the next great PA Senate RINO, like Arlen Specter before him.

It depends on which Republicans are elected to the Senate. If they claim to be MAGA and select that moron McConnell for majority leader again, what will be the gain? We need to deal aggressively with those who claim to be on our side but turn out to be RINOs.
