Publix, one of the largest retail chains in the Southeast, is refusing to offer COVID-19 shots for children under age five. “Publix is not administering the COVID vaccine to individuals under 5 years of age at this time,” said the retail giant on its corporate website. According to Tampa Bay Times, a Publix spokesperson has declined to give an explanation or any other information regarding the company’s decision.
Publix’s customer service Twitter account is directing customers to “speak with pediatrician’s offices, community health centers, children’s hospitals, and public health clinics for availability at this time.” [Tweet]

On Thursday, the Supreme Court issued a 6-3 decision in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, overturning New York’s law restricting concealed carry.
Many leftists who feel more comfortable with citizens not having the ability to defend themselves were outraged, but sports commentator Keith Olbermann was so triggered (see what I did there?) by the ruling, he called for the high court to be dissolved.
“It has become necessary to dissolve the Supreme Court of the United States,” Olbermann proclaimed on Twitter. “The first step is for a state the ‘court’ has now forced guns upon, to ignore this ruling. Great. You’re a court?

Well, it happened. The Republican Party decided to play nice, try to get some good press with a media establishment that hates them, and join the legions of the righteous and blessed by hashing out a gun control bill during a midterm election cycle. Is everyone up there hitting the crack pipe? What are we doing? What the hell is this? We have category five hurricane gusts to our backs heading into November—and the GOP decided to do what it does best: find a new way to blow it.
The economy is primed to enter a recession as the second-quarter report is bound to show another period of economic contraction.

A new, two-story afro pick statue was unveiled in New Orleans on Friday in honor of Juneteenth, but while Mayor LaToya Cantrell called the structure “breathtaking,” not everyone sees it that way.
"As Juneteenth approaches, we celebrated with an unveiling in Lafayette Sq," Cantrell tweeted about the 24-foot tall hair pick that has a clenched “black power” fist on top. "This sculpture is very fitting for this time & place as we celebrate the freedoms that we have gained We know that it doesn’t come without struggles, fights, and protests for 200+ years."
The imposing pick is part of the Monumental Tour, a traveling exhibition of large-scale outdoor works by Black artists.

As Katie reported, the Supreme Court sided with school choice advocates on Tuesday in a 6-3 decision regarding voucher programs in Maine. [Tweet]
Predictably, as with any victory for individual freedom — and especially in dealing with parents' choice of where their children get an education — the mainstream media and liberal activist organizations have not been taking the Supreme Court ruling well. Most of the unhinged wailing centers on the supposed "separation of church and state," which is invoked dubiously to claim that allowing parents to choose where their children attend school means that religion is being forced by the government. But, that's just not true,

Last Friday was the busiest travel day of the year so far, but hundreds of thousands of airline passengers were stranded by flight cancellations. Including last Thursday, more than 35,000 flights in the United States were canceled or delayed over the holiday weekend.
Nearly a third of all flights last Thursday and Friday were late in arriving. At least those travelers ultimately reached their destination, except where delays caused passengers to miss a connecting flight and then be stuck overnight in an unfamiliar city.
Hundreds of passengers were grounded at the Atlanta airport for more than 24 hours. One mother with an 11-month-old daughter was stranded without infant formula,

Soccer star Megan Rapinoe says parents need to realize their children’s sports just aren’t “that important.”
The former Subway spokeswoman gave a recent interview in which she chastised parents for making a big deal out of trans athletes in girls’ sports.
“I would also encourage everyone out there who is afraid someone’s going to have an unfair advantage over their kid to really take a step back and think what are we actually talking about here,” the 36-year-old said. “We’re talking about people’s lives. I’m sorry, your kid’s high school volleyball team just isn’t that important.”

Joe Biden seems to be saying the quiet part out loud a lot lately, raising a lot of questions.
He made a telling comment the other day about who is making up his mind [Snip] When he was asked about the vaccines for children under age 5, he said he would be asking Congress for more money for that. But he said they also needed more money for something else. [Video] “We need more money to plan for the second pandemic. There’s going to be another pandemic,” Biden said. “We have to think ahead. And that’s not something the last outfit did very well.

It’s amazing how much holier-than-thou Democrats can become when it suits their political interests. Last week, the activist media published a series of “bombshell” reports revealing that Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker, a Republican, has kids that he has not publicly discussed. To anyone with a modicum of intelligence, it was a desperate political ploy to lessen his chances of defeating Sen. Raphael Warnock in the upcoming congressional elections.
But there is one glaring problem: Nobody cares.
That’s right. Nobody buys the handwringing coming from the left about Walker’s children. But they’re trying to make the issue stick anyway.

Florida voters dodged a bullet in 2018 when Ron DeSantis narrowly beat Andrew Gillum — then considered a rising star — to become the governor of Florida.
Their trajectories couldn’t have been more different after that race.
Gillum’s career blew up after he was found inebriated in a hotel with a man who was suspected of having overdosed on crystal meth. Meanwhile, DeSantis has gone on to do great things for Florida and is now a highly-touted as a possible presidential candidate for 2024.
NBC reported on the indictment that is related to fraud during the campaign and noted he’s retained Marc Elias for his defense.

Time for some real talk. There are a lot of Republicans with doubts about President Trump running again in 2024, and you hear it often when conservatives gather together. They worry that him going Grover Cleveland could spoil a sure thing, but that’s not necessarily so. Whether you love Donald Trump, or whether you doubt him – if you hate him, shut up and go back to the Bulwark offices with the other losers – you need to look hard at the facts. We’re not progressives who let our feelz control us, and we must ruthlessly assess our own potential courses of action

Joy Behar, co-host of ‘The View’ has claimed that voting rights are being taken away from African Americans. She made this claim during an episode celebrating Juneteenth and provided no evidence to back up her bold claim.
Watch the video below to see her in action: [video]
Joy Behar said: “We should be aware on a day like this that voting rights are being systematically taken away from African Americans and other people too in this country… It’s a good day to reflect on that, I think.”
However, Behar’s comment lacked any evidence or information to back it up. She did not voice concerns over any particular politics, bills,
