A bipartisan working group of U.S. Senators — 10 Democrats and 10 Republicans — finally unveiled the result of their work on federal firearm legislation spurred by the tragic shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, one that increasingly looks to have been worsened by a failure in local authorities' response.
The text's release was delayed this week by some last-minute negotiations over a ban on any healthcare-related funds in the bill being used to pay for abortions, but that hurdle was cleared by Tuesday afternoon when the final text was released.
Totaling 80 pages, the bill text can be viewed below:

Someone remind me why it is so imperative that we vote for anyone with an R after his name to keep the democrats out. I keep forgetting.

What's the point of more laws when the laws we have are not being enforced? Quid Pro Joe's son Snorter lied on an application to purchase a firearm. Apparently he's getting a pass on everything.

Any legislation drafted and passed in haste in response to a tragedy rarely, if ever, does what it says and accomplishes nothing except making law makers feel good about "doing something". Problem is, nothing in the new bill would have stopped the tragedy inspiring the law. Just like all of the other gun laws passed after all the other tragedies have still not stopped them from happening. Congress and activists will never learn.

What is it they say- - with great power comes great responsibility? That only works if there is also a conscience and a spine.
The Dem's... well, they kind of consider themselves off the hook because they never studied those subjects, or took them seriously. I truly believe that karma/payback/the angry mob will eventually have their way with those traitors, but they always count on having a h-ll of a party in the meantime until the "knives come out".
But the fragments of conservatism that DO exist among our "leaders" are missing the backbone to face the blowback for defending our rights and offending the Dem-ons. They would much rather offer negotiations and compromise than a stiff reality check to the solar plexus. Who ever taught conservatives that giving "only" 10 or 20% to the De-mon contingent was a win of any sort?

More Gun Control Bills, yet the killing never ceases. The only solution that'll work is to exterminate all humans and the guns will end the killing.

#3 If your in a fight and are losing, you still have a chance on winning. If you just give up, you have lost. You should push yourself to work harder and get rid of the Communists that are in office.
#10 Dr. Facui has been working on that very concept.

No amount of bills that could be passed will solve the problem we have in this country in regards to these mass killings. Ultimately, we have a sin issue that no one wants to deal with or talk about. Far too many of our children have no concept of God, morality, and consequences of their actions. Many families ignore faith and do not include that value system in the rearing of their children. These kids are rudderless and in this culture, that is a recipe for disaster. Evil will find a way to get to your child. The portal from which the wicked prey on innocent victims is the internet. Our culture is rotting before our eyes and it begins with our children. There is far too many bad influences pulling at our children all packaged in fun and games. We have to give them a foundation of faith, a set of moral values to guide them, and the security of a good home life. So many kids are flailing around in life because their parents ignore them to pursue their own desires. Others are smothered by over indulgent parents who give their kids every material desire but ignore discipline and do not teach about faith and respect. There are, however, many families who are doing it right but unfortunately, some of them fall victim to sick individuals through no fault of their own. Our government is corrupt. Our corporations are woke. Our schools are indoctrination centers for leftist ideology.
As a society we need something solid, foundational, and uplifting in our lives and that is a relationship with God. It is the constant and abiding foundation that teaches us there is more to life than ourselves, and there is a truth we can live by that will enrich us, guide us, and instill values that will enable us to thrive in a world seemingly gone mad.
We have moved far away from our founding principles in this country. The Judeo-Christian laws that were the bedrock of our founding have been ignored in order to accept a secular humanistic value system that breeds an atmosphere of confusion and uncertainty. Every bad act can be explained away instead of confronted. Our society is a reflection of its culture and the culture is a reflection of our values. At this moment in history, this country is trending toward a lawless, hedonistic, morally corrupt culture which always spells disaster. What ails this land today cannot be fixed with laws. We have tried life without God and it is proving to be a disaster. We must return to faith and live it out in our lives, our families, and our communities.

#12, couldn't have said it any better - it is close to what I will say. Passing these laws are done by Democrats and RINO's. RINO's are people who are Democrat but ran as Republicans. The passage of this bill reminds me that their policies are failing and it comes from elitist politicians. Elitist politicians look down their noses at the "lesser" society and think they have to fix everything. Most of them can't get themselves out of a paper bag but think they have all of the answers. Wisdom comes from God and what can you really expect from a base that is trying to take God out of society. This gun control bill is no different than the vaccination mandate they were cramming through - biased and prejudiced. . . .

The bill has been advanced with 12 Republican defectors voting with the communists. Here is the list of Republicans who voted to confiscate firearms.
Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, Joni Ernst of Iowa, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Todd Young of Indiana, Thom Tillis and Richard Burr of North Carolina, Susan Collins of Maine, Mitt Romney of Utah, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Rob Portman of Ohio, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Roy Blunt of Missouri.

Thanks, #15. Now I suggest we get the addresses of these incredibly inept "conservatives" and demonstrate loudly in front of their houses. How long will they put up with it before they bring in men with guns to protect their sorry butts?
Threatening our 2nd Amendment rights is far more serious than restricting where women can go to have their babies murdered.

So this bill includes funds for healthcare? I thought spending bills had to originate in the house. It seems like the rules keep changing when Democrats are in charge.

This 80-page Bill was drafted before the Texas school shootings. It provides for federal government agency intrusion into schools, and federal government spending that has nothing to do with gun safety.
It looks like it's been hidden in a some devious Democrat's drawer waiting for an alleged justifying event (Texas school shootings) to rush it and ram it down our throats.

I'm looking forward to our dear government passing a crazy insane lunatic shooter bill that deals with the real problem of a crazy person pulling the triggers on guns. Guns don't shoot anyone without an insane person pointing the gun at people and pulling the trigger. Just blame the guns not the lunatics. I didn't know that guns just randomly aim and go off by themself.

THESE ARE THE LOSERS! THANK YOU #15. Some are retiring, some are up for re-election. Vote the bums out!
Lindsey, you have become John McCain, a back stabber! Mittens, you've always been a democrat, go away. The rest aren't worth spit. May God have mercy on your souls. You've sold out your fellow Americans and the U.S. Constitution!

I would like to add to #12 insightful and excellent analysis. Over 50 percent of our children are raised in a single-parent environment. And many of these children are raised in a fatherless environment. Therefore, the moral and spiritual compass that our young people need and require from a two-parent family unit is missing. In all cases of the single-parent environment, social media has replaced the two-parent family unit as childrens' moral compass. Obviously, SM isn't a moral compass at all. Consequently, many young people are living their early lives in confusion, despair, and rage with absolutely no positive direction in their lives.
A note to the dim and pubbie senators who have bought into this bill - think about what you have just done. How is your gun control bill going to restore the moral, societal, and spiritual compass of our young people who will simply resort to other means of committing violent crime. Or are you hoping more of them resort to non-gun forms of suicide.

Notice it's always the same GOP members, the ones with the name recognition and the most power. This is the GOP telling Americans they don't want power back in November. They're comfortable living in 2nd place.

Lately it seems all of the game-changers end up with a "wth happened, and we need to get to the bottom of this." the Demon-crats and Rinos lean on their established expertise at spinning and burying - truth, evidence, bodies, etc. #26, putting it all together, I am beginning to get an uncomfortable whiff of the grassy knoll in Uvalde...
