State Farm, the household-name insurance company, has abandoned its program to distribute LGBTQ-themed books to teachers, community centers, and libraries, explicitly targeting children as young as kindergartners, after a media exposé based on a whistleblower email caught the company by surprise on Monday.

"Victor Terry, chief diversity officer and vice president of public affairs.."
as long as someone has this title in your company, you SHOULD look
for a new insurance provider..
what ELSE is he/she/it doing?

I guess more than a few people responded to the news yesterday. Thank God for whistle blowers. Too bad we have to learn things that way.

I'm with #2. If I was insured by them, I would cancel today.

If I had SF, I would really still consider changing carriers as long as they “continue to explore opportunities “. The skirmish is won, but not the war.

I got out of the corporate rat race in 2001. Companies were bludgeoned into holding “diversity” seminars/training for all employees by consultants who charged huge sums and in return, they would not picket or blackmail the company with the “racist” charge. They thus got to expunge their “white guilt”. Now every company has to have a diversity officer or department. The HR people seized on this power grab by bringing in these consultants. I recall the 1st or 2nd Dirty Harry movie where Callahan was taken off the streets and assigned to “personnel” (a dirty word in this era) and he replied “PERSONNEL? PERSONEL is for *-holes..”. My exact feelings for personnel people I encountered.

#10, I was one of those HR (fill in the blank); worse yet, I was a trainer. When my formerly conservative company announced diversity initiatives, but couldn’t give me a good business reason for them, I knew the writing was on the wall for my career.

The leaked email was from February. meaning they had been doing this for at least three months before getting caught. Too late. The damage is done. Sure hope they had pedo insurance.

These days, when they say they've "abandonded" something, it just means they'll stop bragging about what they're doing. They'll go into stealrh mode, so to speak.
Trust me, they HAVEN'T stopped.

Every State Farm agent still needs to be flooded with calls and complaints regardless of the company's supposed 'walk back'. The left gets its way by screaming. Maybe we'd be better off doing some of that ourselves.

Word got out and as they say, get woke go broke and you can be sure many people started canceling their policies. Stick to business and stay out of woke political activism.

State Farm never was a good insurance company. It was always difficult to collect on their policies. Who was the idiot at the company that thought this would be a good idea? Step forward and identify yourself.

And that they let this happen in their company is a sign of a lot of internal rot. And why does the purveyor of this crap still work there?
Is there anyone who will ensure that this kinds of thing won't happen again? Or are they just waiting for the stink to blow over and then start again?

@16: duh. Diversity officers that are not "of color", gay, trans, female, or some witches brew thereof are rarer than hen's teeth.

Of course the diversity officer is black; you can't have white people over diversity. But his superiors are probably majority white.
