Russia has reportedly moved missiles capable of firing nuclear warheads close to its border with Finland amid heightened threats over the latter’s bid to join NATO.
A fleet of more than a dozen military vehicles moved down a highway — including seven that are thought to carry Iskander missiles, a video clip shared by Reuters Monday shows.
They were taken to Vyborg, a Russian city on the Finnish border, “as soon as the president of Finland said they were joining NATO,” the unidentified narrator of the clip said.

The Finns invented the Molotov cocktail to ward off Russians. They probably have some more tricks up their sleeve today that would deter any Russian mischief.

One of the reasons Putin states he invaded the Ukraine was because he didn't want a NATO country on his border. So, what does Finland and Sweden do? They state they want to join NATO. As a result, Russia moves nukes to the Finland border. Talk about throwing fuel on the fire.

Back in the 80s, our response would have been to move nuclear capable land launched Tomahawk cruise missiles close to the eastern edges of NATO territory. But, we have no more nuclear capable cruise missiles, because we made a treaty with the Soviet Union and destroyed ours. Of course, the Russians then abrogated the treaty and rebuilt their short and medium range nuclear missile capabilities.
We did not, because the Dems and Deep State folks want the USA disarmed and weak. And now a lunatic bully like Putin sees no deterrent on his borders, so he bullies.

Putin should be wary of the Finns. They have some of the finest snipers in the world.

This is not going to end well for Pootie if he pulls the tails of the Finns and the Swedes. There are still some tough men and women there who would not hesitate to go against the conscripts who have no interest in fighting them. And I think they have some very capable aircraft too, and know how to fly them.

Re #5, Finland has 50-60 US made F-18 Hornet fighter/attack aircraft. That is not "nothing" but it isn't a whole lot, either. But, small countries usually have small air forces, aircraft and training are expensive.

Puttie is dying so who knows what he'll do. His Generals will most likely halt any nuclear attack on the west, they know there is dozens of boomers off their coast that can launch 100s of short- and long-range missiles into the heart of Russia and they'd have less than 5 minutes to react. Russia does not have a resources to mount any type of conventional warfare right now either. In others words Putie painted himself into a corner and there is little he can do about it.

Wait...so now, Russia's nuke missiles can reach Finland (or Germany, London, etc0 15 seconds sooner than before?
And that matters...why?

Sigh...some things never change.
Just like in third grade, the bully on the playground only responds to determined resistance.
Putin, as the bully in the European playground, is going to do just as he likes until he is forced to back down.

Re #7. I very much wonder if that is actually true. Not what Putin knows, but what would happen.

And lots of people said, "Putin isn't so stupid as to invade Ukraine, it will never happen", too.
And here we are.

If the Russians were to detonate nuclear weapons in Finland it would be Russia and Putin’s home town of St. Petersburg that would end up with big doses of radiation as the fallout moved out of Finland Eastbound.
