They refused the vaccine. Now four cadets at the Air Force Academy may not graduate as a result—and could be forced to pay back hefty tuition fees. So far it’s the only military academy imposing such harsh penalties on its cadets, Air Force officials said. The cadets at the Colorado Springs academy also could be prevented from being commissioned as military officers this month because they refused the COVID-19 vaccine. They may also have to pay back thousands of dollars in tuition costs, the Air Force said. The Army and Navy said that as of now, no seniors will be blocked from graduating at the U.S. Military Academy

The housing crisis in the San Francisco Bay Area has gotten so bad that one startup is now offering renters the chance to live in a “bunk bed pod” with 13 other people for just $800 a month.(Snip)Tenants are given the opportunity to shack up in a house with 13 other people. They sleep in a “bunk bed pod” while sharing two bathrooms. The pods are “fully equipped” with electrical outlets, shelves for books, a rack from which one can hang clothes and laundry, hooks to hang plants and other decorations, and black curtains at the end of each pod for privacy.

Newly installed White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has a long history of accusing policies and political enemies of “racism,” a review of her social media and TV news appearances show. The Post looked at Jean-Pierre’s tweets between 2015 and 2020 and found a staggering 57 instances where she accused people, policies, ideas, or words of being “racist.” And Jean-Pierre accused people and ideas she was opposed to as “racist” at least 43 times in TV appearances too, according to video clipping service Grabien, whose available analysis spanned just the first two years of President Trump’s term in office.(Snip)Jean-Pierre, a one-time national spokesperson

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on Saturday led a delegation of Republican lawmakers to Kyiv and met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Video shared by Zelensky shows him greeting the GOP delegation on a street in Kyiv, which remains firmly in Ukrainian control nearly two months after Russia launched its invasion of the country. The video showed McConnell, who represents the state of Kentucky, and senators Susan Collins of Maine, John Barrasso of Wyoming and John Cornyn of Texas greeting Zelensky.(Snip)'I strongly support the next package of lethal military assistance, which the House has passed with an overwhelming bipartisan majority. I hope the Senate can reach an agreement

A Wisconsin mom shared her horror after her 13 year-old son was accused of sexual harassment for refusing to refer to a non-binary schoolmate with 'they/them' pronouns. Rosemary Rabidoux hit out after her son Bradon became one of three eighth grade schoolboys at Kiel Middle School subjected to an ongoing probe. It was triggered after they chose not to use the gender neutral pronoun for their unidentified classmate, who they instead referred to using 'she' and her'. Things appear to have escalated quickly with the school district now filing a Title IX complaint against the students, accusing them of sexual harassment for using the 'incorrect' pronouns.

The FDA "dropped the ball" on the country’s baby-formula crisis—shutting down a crucial plant on top of product recalls and then not warning parents of the ramifications, experts told The Post on Friday. Desperate moms and dads have been trawling stores across the country in search of baby formula ever since mega-manufacturer Abbott issued a safety recall in February for products made at its plant in Sturgis, Mich., over contamination concerns.(Snip)“That’s where the FDA and Abbott dropped the ball. … They could have recalled the product without shutting the facility. They do recalls all the time without shutting the facility down.”

The US Navy will scrap nine warships worth $3.2 billion - despite some being just three years old—because their technology is already obsolete. Anti-submarine systems on the Freedom-class combat warships, four of which were commissioned in 2019 and 2020, 'did not work out technically', the Navy's operations chief said. Admiral Michael Gilday asked Congress to sign off on the scrapping, which will save the Navy $391 million.(Snip)'They're incredibly expensive, and they don't have the capabilities that we expected. 'We can't use them, number one because they're not ready to do anything. Number two, when they are, they still break down.'

George P. Bush may be floundering in his race for Texas attorney general due to the political toxicity of his family name, according to all available data. In decades past, there were few political dynasties in Texas as unstoppable as the Bush family name with a solid legacy stretching all the way back to the 1960s. In the age of Trump, the name’s staying power appears to have waned, and George P. Bush may be the latest casualty. Up against incumbent Ken Paxton, Bush cannot seem to find a rhythm with voters who either view him as an untrustworthy RINO or an opportunist spouting Trumpian slogans to win MAGA support.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a study this week which showed a higher firearm homicide rate in 2020 relative to 2019, and pointed to poverty as a factor in the increase. The CDC study showed that “the firearm homicide rate in 2020 was the highest recorded since 1994.”(Snip)For example, among males the “largest increases in firearm homicide rates were among Black males aged 10–24 (from 54.9 per 100,000 people in 2019 to 77.3 in 2020) and 25–44 years (66.5 to 90.6).” Among females “the highest rates and largest increases were among those who were Black, aged 10–24

Bull-shot! The official White House Twitter account posted false COVID-19 information Thursday, wrongly claiming there was “no vaccine available” when President Biden took office in January 2021.
“When President Biden took office, millions were unemployed and there was no vaccine available,” the verified account tweeted to its 7 million followers Thursday. “In the last 15 months, the economy has created 8.3 [million] jobs and the unemployment rate stands at 3.6%—the fastest decline in unemployment to start a President’s term ever recorded,” the tweet concluded. But eagle-eyed critics were quick to point out that the 79-year-old Biden actually received his first dose of the vaccine

Meet Marvel’s new mutant. A new superhero is getting ready to make her comic debut: Shela Sexton, a.k.a. Escapade, is described as a “total goofball” who’s extremely loyal to her friends and has “a super-strong sense of justice.” She’s also transgender, which according to her co-creator Charlie Jane Anders, has led her to experience “some rejection,” but also shaped her into becoming the superhero she is today.(Snip)Escapade will be introduced to the world in the pages of “Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1,” set to be released on June 22 as part of the publisher’s Pride Month celebrations. She’ll also bring along her best friend and fellow trans mutant

DHS “Disinformation Governance Board” Director Nina Jankowicz, better known as the Biden administration’s Minister of Truth, says Twitter should allow verified users like her to edit other users’ tweets to “add context.” Jankowicz caveated her comments by stating that Twitter had verified many “untrustworthy” people.(Snip)“I am eligible for it because I’m verified, but there are a lot of people who shouldn’t be verified who aren’t, you know, legit, in my opinion. I mean, they are real people, but they’re not, you know, trustworthy.” “Anyway, so verified people can essentially start to edit Twitter the same sort of way Wikipedia is, so they can add context to certain tweets.”
