Elon Musk's $44 billion deal to buy Twitter is "on hold" for the moment, the billionaire business tycoon said on Friday.
"Twitter deal temporarily on hold pending details supporting calculation that spam/fake accounts do indeed represent less than 5% of users," Musk tweeted.
The price of shares in the social media company dipped double digits in premarket trading after the Tesla and SpaceX CEO's tweet.
In his tweet announcing the snag in the deal, Musk shared an news article from earlier this month about a Twitter disclosure

My guess is that their spam/fake accounts are closer to 50%.

Negotiating the price down due to Twitter's lies about fake accounts... Gosh this is fun!

It will soon be discovered that Twitter has about 200 members and 2,000,000 bots.

I have an idea for a Twitter poison pill that will stop Musk from buying it. Twitter immediately stops censoring people.

Is it possible that Musk never wanted to throw away his money on Twitter, but wanted to pull back the curtain on fake accounts, altering likes and censorship.
Now if he announces that Twitter is not worth much, because of their fraud, the stock will really plummet and he can pick it up in a fire sale.

I'm sure Elon has staff he can trust. But exactly who gave him that 5 percent number? I trust no one, absolutely no one and I hope Elon feels the same way. As to Elon saying he wants someone less divisive than Trump running in 2024. I am SICK TO DEATH of hearing that BS. When will these people get it into their heads that the the global deep state, democrats, the corrupt media, rhino republicans ALL will make any MAGA candidate that runs into a monster, a divisive personality. Heck, if Mother Theresa can down from Heaven and ran as a MAGA candidate the deep state would morph her into a female Hitler. So let's just put an end to this BS.

Yeah, I've never heard of anyone cooking the books to make them look more profitable (Sarcasm key now off). Sounds like Musk's people, doing their due diligence and actually looking at the records, are finding that Twitter may be a house of cards.
Personally, I thought it was nothing more than a bunch of people sharing what they had for lunch in real time.
As for Musk's views on President Trump, well, it's a free country. Heck, if I were Trump, I'd say screw it (running in 2024), go play golf, enjoy the grandkids, and take it easy. But then, I'm not Trump and I suspect doing all those things all day long would be boring for him.

It might be that 50% of the twits are just bots used to push for leftists and against conservatives.

Twitter is owned lock stock and barrel by the deep state. I wouldn't be surprised if the CIA & FBI has been using it as a tool to identify what they believe are enemies to their hold on the US. In other words, MAGA people. I'll say it again Dorsey is too stupid to be the inventor of Twitter if anybody saw him in front of congress, they know he was not the sharpest tool in the toolbox.

If you squeeze all the fraud out of Twitter it's worth a small fraction of the price. Musk is smart to take a step back. He should also insist that all the leftoids in the company be thrown out before he takes over.

I think he will find a huge drop in users when Twitter became the almighty judge and jury of all opinions.

When they're digging themselves a hole, throw them a shovel, stand back for a while and watch the dirt fly.
Then in 6 months or so, fill in the hole and start building.
