The Bremerton School District in 2015 suspended coach Joe Kennedy, claiming his postgame prayers were designed to cause a spectacle. Kennedy pushed back, claiming he was exercising his First Amendment rights. During Monday's arguments, the justices seemed to take Kennedy's side. Justice Brett Kavanaugh pushed back on the district's characterization of Kennedy as an attention-seeker and said it's hard for a head coach to do anything discreetly during an athletic event. Justice Samuel Alito took issue with the district's rationale for suspending Kennedy.

PF: Full disclosure, I’m a huge fan of Ron DeSantis, and have been since the very early stages of his 2018 gubernatorial campaign against Andrew Gillum. Former President Donald Trump touted the "explosive" 2020 election fraud lawsuit in Antrim County, Michigan, in a campaign call on Wednesday.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) is the latest lawmaker to test positive for coronavirus. Waters announced her test results in a Wednesday statement, saying that she is not experiencing any symptoms. The California Democrat said she is now in insolation. “Today, I have received a positive test result for COVID. The Department of Energy (DOE) adopted two new rules Tuesday that strengthen energy efficiency standards for lightbulbs and will effectively phase out the sale of traditional bulbs by next year.
However, consumer analysts allege that not only are LED bulbs more expensive, costing nearly $4 each as opposed to $1 for an incandescent bulb, but are often not stocked in stores in lower-income communities. Around 30 percent of the two billion bulbs sold in the US every year are incandescent.

Harvard University President Lawrence Bacow announced Tuesday that the university will spend $100 million to study and redress its ties to slavery.
The funds will be put toward a “Legacy of Slavery Fund” to continue researching and memorializing the history, in part by working with descendants of black and Native American people enslaved at Harvard and their broader communities. The announcement follows the release of a report from the Presidential Initiative on Harvard & the Legacy of Slavery project, which Bacow commissioned in 2019.

Attorney General Merrick Garland on Tuesday said there will “not be interference of any political or improper kind” in the Justice Department’s investigation into Hunter Biden’s business dealings.
Senator Bill Hagerty (R., Tenn.) questioned the attorney general about the investigation into President Biden’s son during a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing, asking whether Garland himself had been briefed on the investigation.
