It’s Good Friday and those Christians who observe (trust me, I know some who do not—go figure), are spending the day contemplating, commemorating, and honoring the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins. The symbolism of Christ laying down his life for us is most keenly mirrored in those who have served our country. Christ is given the highest honor, because he is God. But those who make the sacrifice to lay down their lives for people they do not know, as well as future generations, is a reason for honor and respect to be given, especially in death.

People across the country are outraged and hurt by a tasteless, misogynistic, offensive joke that Pat Sajak made during an episode of the long-running game show, Wheel of Fortune. Before watching the video below, please go to your safe space, clutch your teddy bear, and have your therapist on call in case it traumatizes you.If you’re still reading this, it means you weren’t too traumatized to continue. Congrats. In sum, Sajak asked Vanna White if she was an opera buff, she said no, and he shot back with “have you ever watched opera in the buff?” It was a silly retort, a quick play on words.
Is the Fauci-Mengele comparison out of bounds? replies

Fox News has parted company with Laura Logan, the journalist contends, for relaying viewers’ comments that Dr. Anthony Fauci does not represent science, as the Biden adviser has claimed, and instead represents Nazi doctor Josef Mengele. Logan, formerly with CBS News, had in mind the fallout from COVID, but a different context might be more appropriate. Josef Mengele earned a medical degree in 1938, the same year he joined the Nazis’ Waffen SS, where he volunteered for medical service. At Nazi concentration camps, Mengele would decide which arrivals would live or die.

New York Times columnist and – we’re constantly reminded – Nobel Laureate Paul Krugman says that inflation, which hit another new high this month, will soon abate. Why? Because, he wrote on Tuesday, “Lumber prices have plunged in recent weeks. Prices of industrial metals such as copper are coming down. Prices of used cars are still very high, but their surge has stalled and they may have peaked.” Oh, wait. That was from a column that Krugman wrote in June 2021. [snip] What Krugman actually wrote this Tuesday was that “inflation will probably fall significantly over the next few months.” Why? Because, he now says, oil prices have moderated and retailers are

The GOP-E is notoriously skittish about the Culture War that’s been raging in America. The GOP-E preference, we’ve been told, based on fairly indisputable evidence, is to manage the devolution of America into a Social Democrat utopia—managers of the Revolution. And they’ve been paid well to take on that role, so it’s small wonder that so much of the GOP-E were frankly appalled at winning. It wasn’t just Trump—it was all the deplorables coming out, getting involved, voting. The whole thing. That’s the story behind what investigations of Election 2020 are documenting—the coup against Trump was enabled in no small part not only by DC Establishment GOPers
Elon Musk’s Twitter Bid Proves The ‘Private

Defense Was Always Garbage

The “private business” or “build your own internet” argument in defense of Big Tech censorship was always a garbage excuse to let Silicon Valley silence speech it disagrees with, and the meltdown about Elon Musk’s offer to buy Twitter (making the platform a truly private company) makes it more obvious than ever. (snip) When Big Tech companies like Twitter have censored users or content that challenges their agendas in the past (snip) a gaggle of censorship aficionados inevitably insist that “because the First Amendment doesn’t regulate private companies they can silence whoever the heck they want.”

AUSTIN, Texas — State troopers will stop inspecting incoming trucks in a second region of the state's international border following new concessions to Texas's demands by a Mexican state, though inspections will continue across half of Texas. Gov. Greg Abbott agreed Thursday evening to cease inspections of commercial vehicles entering through West Texas in return for the Mexican state of Chihuahua agreeing to significantly boost security on its side of the border. "This is a demonstration of commitment from a strong governor who is working collaboratively with the state of Texas, and I'm proud to sign the agreement with her at this time," Abbott said

Abigail Disney inherited her fortune from her famous family, which built an empire on selling the public an idealized version of Main Street, USA. The panic that the left is throwing now over Elon Musk’s offer to buy Twitter is so delicious. They are melting down. You’re getting people now saying things about rich people and media because — suddenly — they’re so afraid that there might be free speech. What’s hilarious about all this is that they didn’t have any problem with Jeff Bezos taking over the Washington Post. So what’s different here? That Elon wouldn’t row in alignment with the narrative. That’s their true problem. Now, the Twitter board is considering the offer from Musk; they haven’t come down with a decision yet. The word from Elon is that he’s secured the funding he needs.
