ROME, Italy — Pope Francis accused the West of racism Friday, insisting migrants are “subdivided” by skin color and country of origin.“Refugees are subdivided,” the pontiff declared during a lengthy Good Friday interview on Italian television. “There’s first class, second class, skin color, [whether] they come from a developed country [or] one that is not developed.”“We are racists, we are racists. And this is bad,” the pope stated. As he has done on other occasions, Francis compared the current problem of migrants and refugees to the flight into Egypt of Joseph, Mary, and Jesus when King Herod was seeking to kill him.

Abigail Disney inherited her fortune from her famous family, which built an empire on selling the public an idealized version of Main Street, USA. Now the left-wing heiress is trashing the same ideal in a new documentary in which she calls the American Dream a “nightmare” for most people. The American Dream and Other Fairy Tales, which premiered this year at the Sundance Film Festival, examines the pay gap of Disney employees — focusing on wage earners, or “cast members,” at Disneyland, some of whom say they are unable to afford sufficient food on their pay.

The New York Times published an op-ed Friday that proposes eliminating belief in God — as one of the holiest weekends of the year begins. Titled “In This Time of War, I Propose We Give Up God,” the article claims that God is responsible for “war and violence” and for “oppression and suffering,” and suggests that people stop teaching children about Him. Author Shalom Auslander, who is disillusioned about his upbringing in a religious Jewish community in New York, argues (original emphasis): God, it seems, paints with a wide brush. He paints with a roller. In Egypt, said our rabbi, he even killed first-born cattle.

The Biden administration announced Friday that it would resume selling new oil and gas leases on federal lands – while hiking royalties that go the public when selling leases for extracting fossil fuel reserves in nine states. The Interior Department announced the news Friday afternoon – Good Friday and the start of Passover while Biden is away at Camp David, in a sign of the political sensitivity of the issue. It comes amid successive reports of soaring inflation, although the administration has stressed repeatedly that decisions on leasing primarily impact long-term, rather than short-term supply, and has called on companies to explore for oil and gas on existing leases.

During an interview with “Pod Save America” on Thursday released on Friday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki stated that canceling student loan debt is “on the table” and high costs are “an important thing to consider. That’s a big part of the consideration.”Psaki responded to a question [relevant exchange begins around 1:00:55] on whether taking executive action on student loan debt cancelation is still on the table by stating, “Yes, still on the table. … So, as you said, it ends August 31. We have to then decide whether it’s extended and what you look at is, even though the economy’s very strong, we created

Another day, another instance of President Joe Biden making stuff up, and another reason for Americans to be mortified. No, folks, this isn’t some sort of nightmare you’re in, one that you can’t wake up from. This is really happening.
During an appearance yesterday at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University in Greensboro, Biden gave a speech about the importance of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). As is so often the case with the president, he went off-script again and just totally lied about his past.

New York Times columnist and – we’re constantly reminded – Nobel Laureate Paul Krugman says that inflation, which hit another new high this month, will soon abate. Why? Because, he wrote on Tuesday, “Lumber prices have plunged in recent weeks. Prices of industrial metals such as copper are coming down. Prices of used cars are still very high, but their surge has stalled and they may have peaked.”
Oh, wait. That was from a column that Krugman wrote in June 2021. [snip] What Krugman actually wrote this Tuesday was that “inflation will probably fall significantly over the next few months.”
Why? Because, he now says, oil prices have moderated and retailers are

Houston, we have a problem. Let me rephrase that: America, the left-wing sockpuppet media has a problem — a problem that has now reached Planet Looney Tunes levels of panicked hysteria.
The best part of all? The histrionics have also reached pay-per-view quality level, but it’s all free!
The latest unintentional comedian was none other than MSNBC anchor Katy Tur, who has been making a fool out of herself for years. Tur’s effort came on Thursday, as the left’s meltdown continued, first over Elon Musk acquiring 9.2 percent of Twitter, then reaching cataclysmic proportions when Musk announced a hostile takeover bid of the social media giant known for censoring conservative content

Charles Murray just can’t help himself; he’s been a social scientist and prolific author for almost 40 years, writing books on the American experience and societal issues. Now he is back in the mix with a book, Facing Reality: Two Truths About Race in America (Encounter Books 2021), that follows up on the book he wrote with Richard Hernnstein, The Bell Curve (1994). That magnificent work blew the top off of racial debates in America by its in-depth analysis of racial cognitive ability (IQ) differences and socio-economic mobility of Americans and factors that are associated with success in life.

Former Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said she was denied entry to an upscale steakhouse due to her attire Friday. Ms. Bottoms tweeted that she should be able to wear “mall” attire because the Capital Grille restaurant she visited is located at the Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody, Georgia. “Asked if I could sit in the bar area and was told, ‘No.’. Rules are the rules, just wonder if the woman who came in immediately after me, who I did not see come back out, was also denied service,” she wrote. Ms. Bottoms’ clothing violated the restaurant’s dress code, according to its website. “For the comfort of all guests
