LOS ANGELES, California — Seventeen gangs are targeting the city’s wealthiest residents, often following them out of stores and restaurants before robbing them, according to a new task force of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
The Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday on the results of an investigation into the phenomenon of “follow-home” or “follow-off” robberies, which have been part of a major crime wave experienced by residents over the past few years.
The Times reported:
More than a dozen Los Angeles gangs are targeting some of the city’s wealthiest residents in a new and aggressive manner, sending out crews in multiple

A $30 Timex tells the same time as a $30,000 Rolex. People who wear expensive watches and jewelry are entitled snobs who just love showing off. It's all that really motivates them. They deserve what they get.

I was followed home to my middle class neighborhood because I owned a VW bug. They were the steal and strip cars of the day in the '70's. I feel their pain.

Watch out, California. And, for that matter, all of us. When wealthy libs get stung, they go all Fascist on EVERYONE. They have NO sense of propriety or proportion; "zero tolerance" is their religion in all things that don't indulge and cater to them.
Normal people realize they need to be wary, and maybe a bit pro-active in their personal behavior and defense.
OTOH, the unicorn-and-rainbows crowd that likes to be all rosy and "loving" in their public life goes completely psychotic Nazi when they get burned by their stupidity and "tolerance".

This is the state and city which disarms the victim.
Now they want more gun and ammunition laws that absolutely do not disarm criminals. And the government will not lock up repeat criminals.
Gee. Why don't gun laws work?

What's the California legislature going to do when the tax base that funds their leftist dream world leaves the state much like the NewYork wealthy are leaving that state. They can't tax the homeless.

Time to use some situational awareness, and have a gun, too. I have, on more than one occasion, noticed a car "following me", making the same turns as I did three or four times. Coincidence or someone following? I have driven past my home and turned down another street, then another wrong way until the "following car" went another way, then headed back home. Paranoid or just careful? I have many friends who are police officers, and often the topic of discussion has turned to recent crimes, like follow home robberies...and trying to learn how to be less likely to be a victim seems a good response to this added information.
Pretty pro-criminal attitude with some commenters who apparently are pretty deep into some 10th Commandment violation, it would seem. A person should be safe with an expensive car or clothes, jewelry if we had a civil society. Blaming the victim is pretty obnoxious, this is caused by criminals, not people with nice things.

I wonder how the fake liberals of Hollyweird feel about this kind of behavior? Maybe someone could write a Hollywood script about it.

#1,
My Rolex is a tool, one I use daily. And my Timex is worthless 30 feet underwater looking at bridge pilings.
But the larger point is, it is my RIGHT to spend my hard earned cash however I want to, not that my ability to buy nice things means I am a snob and deserve to get robbed.
You may be looking for another website if that’s your attitude.

I feel that anyone has the right to spend their money and enjoy nice things if they choose. There are things I cannot afford but that does not mean I envy or have jealousy for people who can. It is not the right of someone to decide and judge what someone should or should not have from the fruits of their labor. We should keep our eyes on our own wallet. The only exception I have is politicians that enjoy the high life at taxpayer expense.

The rich have to expect their "fair share" of crime, along with their "fair share" of taxes.
