Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Tuesday he is prepared to pledge that Ukraine wouldn’t join NATO, in a bid to broker a peace deal with Russia.
Zelensky said he would still demand complete withdrawal of Russian forces from his country and international commitments to Ukraine’s security.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin said talks with Ukraine are moving “much more slowly and less substantively than we would like,” according to Putin spokesman Dmitri Peskov in his daily call with reporters.

Make no deals with the Rooskies. They are like America’s communist Democratic Party...they cannot be trusted.

He should have said this months ago, before the Russian troops were massing at the Belarus border. Had he pursued an 'Austria' or 'Finland' model, his nation would keep out of Russian gunsights and still become prosperous like those other two nations. The Russians demanded this at the beginning, it seemed reasonable to me, and he and his pals ignored it. Now the Russkis have upped their price.

Zelensky - the hero of "True Patriots". JD Rucker gave some excellent points about not trusting him:
- He is a globalist. Listen to his speech in Davos and the kudos he received for it from Klaus Schwab.
- He was propped up by Ukrainian oligarch Ihor Kolomoysky, who happened to also produce the comedian’s television show in which he played the President of Ukraine.
- He is corrupt, having been one of the world’s elites exposed in the famous Pandora Papers. An article in The Guardian several months before the war exposed his penchant for corruption, including ties with Russian oligarchs.
- He was central to the Trump impeachment, but did not lift a finger to debunk the Democrats’ narrative that Trump committed crimes in his perfect call with him.
- George Soros, the Clintons, and Barack Obama all backed his election.
- But the biggest reason I am skeptical of Volodymyr Zelensky is that his legend as “hero of democracy” is being propped up by corporate media, Democrats, and the powers-that-be. We’ve learned time and again over the last few years to question everything.
And, by the way, observing all these things does not translate into support of Putin. So don't bother with idiotic comments suggesting otherwise.

NATO applicants cannot have any border disputes. So Ukraine has not qualified for NATO membership anyway since 2014.

1) Announce that Ukraine will NOT join NATO
2) Stop persecuting Russian-Ukies living in Ukraine
...he did neither...the blood is on his hands

OT but has anyone else seen the video of the Ukrainians going against their own people? They tie them to trees or posts, wrap their arms and body with plastic wrap, drop their pants and beat them. I even saw an older boy tied to the same pole with his father.

He could have said this months ago, and delayed a war. Eastern Europe better be building up their militaries to deter Russia. They probably need a mutual defense pact as well. Could we see a rebirth of the Warsaw Pact minus Russia? The other thing that needs to happen is Russia needs to move on from their cold war mind set.

This is what I see, Ukraine is/was a sludge pot for thieves with a corrupt government Zelensky being one of them. It's somewhat late to announce this after the country is devasted by strong arm Russkies. Here's what I see, if Soros is supporting Ukraine along with other evil thieves too many to mention here then they are the old Nazis from WWII. Putin longs for the Russia of WWII and Stalin so I would call them Soviets. This is a standoff between Nazis and Soviets 2.0.

'What if ' questions are sort of fun.
What if Dollar Bill Clinton had been serious about foreign policy during his first term, instead of pursuing you know what?
The Soviet Union had fallen and the head of Russia's government was Boris Yeltsin, who could have been a fine negotiator.
If Clinton did not have Warren Christopher as Secretary of State, and Anthony Lake at NSC, it might have been possible to place the member states of the soviet union into a creative answer too the NATO membership question.
We will pay the price of Dollar Bill Clinton's horniness and lack of attention to foreign affairs.

If accepted by Putin, this would allow him to save face in the midst of a Russian disaster. He should take it and go home.

Perhaps you should start with a complete withdrawal of all American Obama-era politicians, financiers, and 'advisors'. Start with Biden's family and cronies. Too late! The damage is undone.?Russia already destroyed Ukraine. Nothing to go back to. Everyone continues to fight for another 10-20 years until Russia is worn out. Russia will learn a lesson not to invade a small country again. Learn from Vietnam. The war start in 1954 and ended in 1975.
