Biden's Vaccine Idolatry is Not Working

President Biden won the White House promising to resolve the Covid crisis, and prematurely declared victory on July 4th so he could shift attention to his Build Back Better boondoggle. As America’s Covid deaths in his first year exceeded those in President Trump’s last year, liberals are eager to blame conservatives for refusing to “follow the science.” Biden has framed vaccination as self-evident patriotic duty — rather than a personal choice based on risk tolerance and individual circumstances — giving liberals another excuse to feel morally superior. This is a well written article laying out what we already know, but the author repeats a fallacy that undermines his whole premise. He writes: "..and cause the unvaccinated to wonder why they should bother getting shots." The "unvaccinated" as a whole are not "wondering why". They KNOW why. They aren't sitting around waiting for another dishonest pronouncement to change their minds. Speaking for me, the decision was made months ago. What does this author think the left could say to change my mind?

Funny he used the word 'idolatry' in the title. I awoke this morning thinking about friends and family who, for the first time since COVID began, are coming down with it. Our son called yesterday from California to tell us that he has it. The last time we'd heard from him was his jubilant message a few days ago that he'd gotten the booster. The majority of people we know who have gotten the disease recently have been injected. Officials are admitting that the jabbed are just as susceptible as the unjabbed, although we suspect they are even more vulnerable. So far, we have seen no evidence that the claim that the symptoms of the jabbed are less severe than the unjabbed is true. Yet our government officials maintain their authoritative decrees and mandates. Why? I am reminded of the BLM riots of 2020. We witnessed many tableaus where people who were intimidated or inspired bent to their knees or groveled on the ground, confessing their guilt and asking forgiveness for their racist sins and the sins of their ancestors. Of all the scenes of riots and burning and anger and hate, the scenes of kneeling and groveling were the most disturbing because they demonstrated a deep religious commitment to a cause, an idol - the idol of George Floyd and what he had come to represent. The cops and authorities who bowed before the radicals were expressing their allegiance to a new god. Fast-forward to the COVID vaccines. It should be obvious to rational people that mandates requiring vaccinations are no longer justified by any real-world, factual data - especially jabbing the very young. In spite of observable results, the Vax furor persists. The reasoned, adult response is to leave the decision to the individual. Yet, the authoritarian purge is actually gaining momentum. How? Why? The George Floyd obeisance was merely a trial run. Those in power have spawned a new idol, calling it 'science', or 'the public good' or even 'patriotism' as Dear Leader is wont to say. However, it is not science. It is an insistence that we collectively bow and submit to the high priest's new idol, or be justifiably punished.

The claim that the vaccinated have less serious symptoms when they catch the Kung Flu is the only argument that the left has going for them because it can not be proven. Everybody is different and you either got the jab or you didn't. After you did, there is no way to prove that your symptoms would have been more serious if you didn't. It's enough to convince liberals.

Let's pretend the vaccines are truly safe and effective...and FPDT was still in office. During the halcyon days of "Project Warp Speed" those standing and proclaiming "NO!" to vaccine mandateswere the Liberals/Democrats who were the "anti-vaxxers" pre-November 2020, raising the very same questions being asked now by the other side about vaccine safety and effectiveness, and Big Pharma science. One may recall that Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) called Democrats “the party of anti-vaxxers.” Seems the politics were different then...and now. Trump's miracle elixir has become Biden's poison. I don't trust the information from either side of the issue. Accept what your understanding brings, and get/don't get vaxxed and boosted. What we do know is that the vax does not prevent illness or transmission, and neither do masks and most other "precautions." As the referee tells the boxers, "protect yourself at all times." I take care of myself, thank you.

Joe Biden is not the president the old fool with his wife are nesting in the White house after the stolen election by running President Trump with First Lady Melania back to Florida. That said I'm not 'wondering' why I'm not going to get the vaccination. I not taking the poison for a good reason, I'm old and have medical issues I don't want the poison to finish me off. I have never received a flu shot for the same reason. In 1993 I had a bout with cancer with all the treatments that go with it including one year of chemotherapy since that time I have never had a cold, flu and many other maladies I had as a kid. The last time I had to follow a mandate (orders) was in the Army to go to the far east with a jab that was horrible. As it stands with me I don't mess with success by adding poison into my system. I don't worship the same 'idolatry' as senile creepy Joe Biden. FJB MAGA

How is it that someone who went along with the CDC lies and got the mRNA shots, then got the booster and then got infected with the virus - still believes ANYTHING that the CDC or the other official liars say about this? Does it not get through to them that these shots do NOT do what they have been told hundreds of times that they they do? Can they not see that they GOT infected after taking these 'magical shots'? And they almost certainly were infected by someone else who had gotten these 'magical shots'? Are people so dim, so limited, so uncritical thinkers that they can't understand that they are proof that these shots do not work? How is it that anyone believes anything that the CDC, or Dr. Fraud, or the US government says about these shots or the virus?

It’s sometimes like pulling teeth, but the nation is making fitful progress toward COVID sanity. Here in New York, Gov. Hochul and (especially) Mayor Adams are refusing to panic amid the Omicron wave, as their teams offer ever more good sense and better information. Glimmers of sanity are even showing in President Biden’s orbit. Plenty of idiocy remains, even on the Supreme Court, where Friday’s hearing on Biden’s vaccine mandate for most US businesses brought some huge whoppers from the liberal wing.

What is wokeism? Is it another political movement, one pushing for equality and social justice in line with Christian faith, or is it something more? Catholics in particular must face and answer this question, as our faith calls us to defend the helpless in the name of Christ. Is woke thinking a duty or a heresy, a friend or an enemy? Archbishop José Gómez, leader of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, recently stepped forward to answer this question factually and faithfully. Woke thinking, Gomez said, is nothing less than a new religion constructed to challenge and destroy traditional Christian faith.

“Women are the major beneficiaries of getting rid of the hypocritical old notions about sex,” said pornographer Hugh Hefner. Though, he added, “One of the unintended by-products of the women’s movement is the association of the erotic impulse with wanting to hurt somebody.” To put it more precisely, an unintended—but entirely predictable—consequence of the sexual revolution Hefner spearheaded was that it hurt exponentially more than it ostensibly helped. Even the ancients—both East and West—knew that the unchecked proliferation of lustful passions was a recipe for social and political catastrophe

To observe that the Left and its cheerleading media have treated the one-year anniversary of the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot as a solemn occasion would be to understate the point. For the Left, the (actually) mostly peaceful demonstrations of that day, which for a small percentage of demonstrators did entail illegal trespassing of the Capitol, represented a watershed moment in the history of our “democracy.” January 6 was the day, the narrative goes, where “deplorable” Trumpians attempted to effectuate an “insurrection” and a “coup,” seeking to “overturn” the results of the perfect and pristine 2020 presidential election.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) must be held accountable for its open defiance of the Supreme Court’s directives. For decades, the FTC relied on a statute authorizing “permanent injunctions” to obtain monetary fines. That always seemed strange. After all, neighboring sections of the law allow the commission to seek limited monetary penalties, while injunctions normally only prevent future action and do not entail an award of any damages. Yet “disgorgement” awards — the return payment of supposedly illegal gains — became so pervasive that in 2019, for example, courts ordered that $723.2 million be paid to the government in such awards.CORRECTION*

The conventional wisdom is that she checked the right number of boxes to fulfill left-wing interest group demands, which is partially true, of course. Overlooked, however, is how there is one more, rather good and important reason Joe Biden, or really any politician, would pick someone like Harris: because by comparison, you’ll always look better. Harris is such a singularly grating personality that she polls lower than lemon juice on an open wound.
