The fact that Nikole Hannah-Jones has been honored with a MacArthur Foundation “genius grant,” a Pulitzer Prize, and has had the New York Times backing her error-riddled and fundamentally mistaken 1619 Project as a curriculum throughout the United States tells us that we live in an intellectually degenerate moment in history. That she has been granted an endowed chair (despite no doctorate) and is heading a new center with $20 million in funding at Howard University bespeaks a collapse of standards. Yesterday, when featured on Meet the Press, she demonstrated genuine intellectual mediocrity. She packs a boatload of BS in this 42 second excerpt:

The MacArthur Foundation has chosen to flush its integrity down the toilet.
One more cost of affirmative action.
(The rules of the Foundation have been that one could not apply for the grant, or even be aware of it - that the nomination would waft in on a breeze of genius.)

There's a reason why they're called libtards, and Hannah-Jones is Exhibit A.

Isn’t it amazing the accolades and rewards you can reap if you have a high melanin content, limited intelligence and a big mouth?

''Beclown'' is an appropriate description considering her Ronald Mc Donald wig and ridiculous looking clown make-up. It is befitting the ludicrous nature of her ''scholarly'' writings. The date, 1619, she claims is significant US History as being the first arrival of African slaves in North America. The location was in Jamestown colony, which was not the United States [which did not exist], but a for-profit endeavor owned by the Virginia Company [privately owned stock company established by Royal Charter in 1606]. The slaves had been taken by a British privateer from a Portuguese slave ship that was captured off the coast of Vera Cruz. There were approximately 20 slaves sold at Jamestown, which if they had not been sold there, they would have gone on the slave auction block at the Spanish city of Vera Cruz, Mexico and been doomed to toil in Spanish mines or plantations. Her biased writings seem to blame chattel slavery on colonial Americans, whereas, in reality slavery dates to antiquity and every maritime nation in the Western Hemisphere took part in the Transatlantic slave trade. It fails to mention that the bulk of the trade in slaves was conducted by the Spanish, Portuguese, and Dutch with very little by British and Americans who later banned and fought the trade. Brazil did not emancipate their slaves until 1888. African empires, like the Ashanti, grew wealthy trading captives to the Europeans in return for gold, weapons, and manufactured goods.

Home schooling works because parents sacrifice to make certain that their own children learn. I am not deriding the work of those good teachers who struggle 'babysitting' undisciplined kids from broken homes. That any of their students learn is a testament to their hard work. But we as a country cannot afford to have so so many of these children fail all the way to (and then through) adulthood. Vouchers are hated by teacher unions because it threatens the bad teachers and the system itself which permits social promotion and worthless diplomas. Maybe we should allow voucher momey to actually pay for home schooling directly to parents as long as their 'students' stay on course educationally. I'll call it 'No Pass - No Pay'.

The truth is that education is no longer that, rather it serves first as a day care for children K-12.
Thanks to "educators" kids generally are illiterate when they leave the system, particularly in urban areas. Their math skills are such that they can't make change. Language skills are limited to emojis and memes. They have no ability to discern, and fear different/opposing views, often referred to as "hate speech". Anyone who disagrees is a something-ist who is evil.
And who created this? Parents. When Harriet left the house to pursue a career, after she dumped Ozzie, school systems took the opportunity and offered to keep the little darlings, feed them, and otherwise assume the role of traditional parents.
The public wanted "values" taught, and it's getting it in spades - just not YOUR values. Just wait until schools resume "prayer"...you think CHRISTIAN prayer? Uh, no, the entire spectrum will have its time and day, including Satan and who-knows-what-deity.
The public schools are giving the public what it demanded - good and hard.

They think of themselves as reallllly waaaay too smart and complicated but the more things change, they stay the same and they then become too complex and confounded to support their ideals!

Beclowned is the correct term. This low IQ idiot was given an award for being a good racist communist pushing their brainwashing agenda in schools. That was one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. MAGA

IIRC, the 1619 Project contents is also supported by such mental luminaries as Matt Damon and his buds as well. I believe the MacArthur Foundation is also a huge donor to PBS television programming as well. I haven't trusted this Foundation in decades for credibility.

She's a racist hater. That is her fundamental outlook on EVERYTHING. And she's not particularly bright, it seems.
A terrible person.

This horrible freak show of a woman lucked out and hit the right time in history when the people of America have been blinded by all things black. Howard University giving her $20 million shows that their collective intellectual acuity is even less than hers. This action is on the same level as paying the Obamas millions of dollars to write books or financing multiple houses for Patrisse Cullers. I hope the country gets over this black plague soon because we are beclowning ourselves for accepting it.

On occasion liberals let their mask slip and tell us what they really think about the proles they lord over.
No vax - you're stupid
A parent - you have no rights about kids' education.
Visit the Capitol - you smell like a stockyard
Don't vote Democrat - you're deplorable
They REALLY believe they are the Masters Of The Universe. How can otherwise normal looking people think that way?
