A top adviser to Attorney General Merrick Garland is facing calls to recuse herself from the Justice Department's investigation of the Trump-Russia probe, which has looked into the actions of her husband, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan. Margaret Goodlander serves as counsel to Garland, who oversees Special Counsel John Durham's investigation. Garland has oversight of Durham's budget, the scope of the investigation, and the release of a report Durham is believed to be writing. Sullivan, who married Goodlander in 2015, has been referenced in Durham's indictment of a cybersecurity lawyer who worked for the Clinton campaign.

Of course, Gestapo Garland will scrupulously follow the law, and the honest intent of the law in all dealings with Durham. [well, saying that got rid of megatons of BS that had been accumulating around here.]

Gee, if this were a Republican, the fact that she was supervising the investigator of her husband would be grounds for immediate dismissal and calls for resignations.

She should be recused. I'm sick and tired of gerry-rigged investigators determining aforehand what the final verdict will be. Jake Sullivan's wife fits that description to a capital T.

Progressives Are Using Black Americans

Being Black in America today is a lot like being a football: Your identity is thrown around a lot, and you have no control over who is throwing it, or where. Modern politics seems to require one claim to help Black people in order to gain traction. Unfortunately, claiming to help and actually helping are two different things. And what we're seeing on the progressive Left is the use of Black Americans as an experimental lab for what can only be called a communist utopian fever dream. I call it communist because it's based on the kind of leveling of the playing field that Marx promoted.
The Real War on Women is From the Left 4 replies

Remember how the left not long ago went on and on and on about the supposed “war on women” from the right? The irony is that according to current leftist dogma, women no longer exist. After all, the Biden Administration’s Department of Health and Human Services is insisting in referring to mothers (once understood as a significant subset of beings known as “women”) as “birthing persons,” because current leftist dogma says man can have babies, too. Which means women no long have anything naturally distinctive about them. Christine Rosen dilates this problem wonderfully in the current issue of Commentary in “The New Misogyny.” Key bit:

Pro-life women and men alike usually laugh when they hear the term “feminist” being used to describe a pro-abortion man. But seeing as though it’s women who these “feminist” men are trying to impress the most, it is conservative women in particular who especially get a kick out of the absurdity of them actually thinking they’re dazzling anyone with their virtue signaling outside of the people in their like-minded liberal circles on the matter. That virtue signaling, of course, is wildly self-serving for reasons which should be obvious to everyone but which – shockingly enough – aren’t to some.

A former senior FBI lawyer who falsified a surveillance document in the Trump-Russia investigation has been restored as a member in "good standing" by the District of Columbia Bar Association even though he has yet to finish serving out his probation as a convicted felon, according to disciplinary records obtained by RealClearInvestigations. The move is the latest in a series of exceptions the bar has made for Kevin Clinesmith, who pleaded guilty in August 2020 to doctoring an email used to justify a surveillance warrant targeting former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

Joe Biden ran for president largely by blaming President Trump for the fact that people were dying from (or more often, with) covid. Biden said Trump was responsible for all of those deaths. But now, of course, more people have died with covid during the Biden administration than during Trump’s. So is Biden responsible for those deaths? One White House reporter–I assume it was Peter Doucy–had the temerity to ask that question, and he followed up with a question about China’s role. Biden’s response? A smirk and a wave of the hand:

Jussie Smollett and Hillary Clinton have a lot in common. They both faked crimes in order to achieve personal glory. They continue to cause unnecessary and bitter division by refusing to take any responsibility for their actions. And neither of them is nearly as talented in their respective professions as each believes. It's a surreal thing to watch people who walk through life with such little regard for truth or virtue that they manage to seem even more haughty and spiteful when their lies are occasionally called out.

Full disclosure: I despise Steven Spielberg movies and dislike both Romeo and Juliet and the 1961 West Side Story (WSS) movie. For that reason, I take particular delight in noting that Steven Spielberg's remake of WSS may have enthralled critics, but no one is rushing to see it. And no wonder, given that it's so darn woke that parts of it are in a language most Americans don't speak, but Spielberg refused to include subtitles. Let me quickly get through my biases. I hate Steven Spielberg movies because I find them overblown, predictable, and incredibly boring. I also dislike the way he presents children.
